Clase Azul isn't hip enough to be mezcal. Trendy, though. It's what you might call a $150 "aspirational" tequila.

Ah the only cactus juice I can stomach is sotol, figured mezcal because of the bottles but I was mistakenly thinking Oaxaca style pottery was that blue and white

I've never tried tequila. Gin also.

I'd suggest staying well rid of tequila. Gin I got into during our trips to Edinburgh, but that will need a proper tonic to go with it. But neither are something your life will be richer for, after having tasted. Not lying though when I say that Gin and Tonic has made more than a few Dynamites last year seem even more enjoyable than they probably were.

With respect to any 12-steppers or edgers, GIN IS WIN.

Tbh even a Gordons and Schweppes can be decent. Adding some cocktail bitters can make a difference when working with a lower-quality gin. I favour Bitter Truth's Tonic Bitters but a lot of things work. Personally I've got a bottle of Bulldog on the go - flying between UK and EU regularly gives you access to some cheap bots.

(I tried Seattle's Big Gin a few years ago, it hit the spot)

Tequila...yeah it's been a while. There's actually a 'Listening Bar' specialising in mezcal near where I stay when in Budapest and the prices are borderline sensible so yeah maybe I'll try that soon.

Can't do gin anymore. The worst drunk I've ever been was after a night of drinking exclusively gin. I threw up in a washing machine. I did find a whole baked potato in my jacket pocket when I got home, so the night wasn't a total wash. But if I smell gin now, I am instantly transported to standing over that washing machine.

I stick with whiskey, Caesers, beer, and fun fruity drinks now.

Bitter Truth are lovely. Their Jerry Thomas Bitters in particular woo me with every whiff.

Sounds like a few people here need to make themselves a Tequila & Tonic. Preferably with Fever Tree Lemon Tonic if you can find it. But what will you do with the leftover gin? Use it for your Bloody Marys, silly. And what of the vodka? You can look at it from across the room, or serve it to your simpler guests.

To quote Evan Dorkin’s classic Milk and Cheese: “Gin makes a man mean”. I can’t have more than 1 G&T on a rare occasion because it makes me super chippy.

I also own a bottle of the Jerry Thomas. Very nice. I have the Cucumber Bitters too. And an unopened EXR which I'm not sure they make now.

Generally you can't own too many bottles of cocktail bitters.

Listening bar is as listening bar does, but generally it's a bar where fairly leftfield music is played on a very high-quality soundsystem.

Because he supported Regal and Regal turned on Mox, Yuta no longer respects him as well.

If they want to break the BCC up, do it, but Mox and Bryan had a tag match on Rampage like three weeks ago.

They seemed to have dropped all the Regal stuff too, despite it being the impetus of the Bryan/MJF feud. You had Bryan finishing people off with the Regal stretch a few weeks in a row without the announcers even selling it, then he stopped. I think they realized they botched the Regal send-off and are just moving on.

I got up hung over one Saturday in September and threw up on everything I could find.  My car, a mailbox, the sidewalk, a water fountain.  Finally staggered into a park and barfed into the river.  Kinda wish I had chosen a spot that wasn’t a few yards from a family reunion, but you know what they say about beggars and choosers.

That was September 18, 1991.  I remember the date because that was the date my fiancée decided she was calling off our wedding even though the ceremony was only three weeks away.  It was also the date I realized I was full of shit and attended my first AA meeting.  Good times, lol.

i drank way too much gin back then, but really it would take less time to list the adult beverages I wasn’t overindulging in college than the ones I was.

edit: I should mention thwt the wedding was postponed, not canceled.  We’ll celebrate our 31st anniversary in June.
