NFL 2022-23 - WEEK 18

Dolfan in NYC

Skip Bayless went on his show today and apologized (to anyone who might be offended)...  "for attempting to run a normal show" while all the Hamlin stuff is going on.   (jesus christ, fuck you Skip)

Shannon Sharpe did not show up to work today.

Yup and he was not backing down at all.

Try to find a clip of it because they had him on Zoom and he looked like a crazed old man arguing that Wentz hasn't received a fair chance, etc.

No worries - I will listen later

Skip Bayless is a dick.  In other surprising news, water is wet.

I'm genuinely shocked that Colin Cowherd hasn't said anything stupid today, but it is not even lunch time yet.

Well they do have similar "beliefs" about certain people.   I am sure they have been hanging out on "Twitter Files" space sessions with Elon

Troy Aikman wasn't great, he just fell into the perfect situation and did his part. Still, he's better than Wentz regardless.

This. It's amazing that, when "game managers" come up, Troy never gets mentioned. His whole job was literally turn around and give Emmitt the ball. He did that job really well though.

It seems many teams are cancelling their media availability for today

The Texans cancelled their scheduled practice (I am not sure how many other teams were planning on practicing on a Tuesday)

Having his best passing season during the Cowboys first SB year probably helped boost his reputation once he started passing less (compared to the league)

1992: 302/473, 3445 yards, 23 TD/14 INT. Top 5 in attempts, completions, yards, TDs.

Then he played 14 games in 93/94.

1995: 280/432, 3304 yards, 16 TD/7 INT. Not top 10 in any of those stats.

One thing with the Cowboys rise that stuck out was the part where Al Davis basically did the NFL equivalent of Faron Young telling Willie Nelson to not sell him the rights to “Hello Walls” when Al told Jimmy Johnson not to trade him Michael Irvin, leading Jimmy towards trading Herschel Walker instead.

You hope the Cheifs win, making the outcome pretty much irrelevant so it can just be made a tie and moved on from.

It still could impact the NFL North and #2/#3 seeding, I just don't know what their options are. It would take a pretty major reshuffling, not that they couldn't do it but it may just be easier to pretend the game didn't exist and they will just have one less game on their record.

How do you play it at a later date without pushing the playoffs back a week?

What CSC said. If the Chiefs win, the #1 seed is out of reach for the Bills and Bengals/Ravens is still a winner-take-all for the NFC North.

I think.

There are some folks pushing that the entire week gets pushed back (and eliminate the bye week before the Super Bowl)

Granted so far those are just a couple of agents and media types.

Hope is all the Chefs have.

Jarrett Stidham is the 2nd coming of Marc Wilson.

Did you witness what he alone did against the mighty 49urs?

Radiers are going to cruise to a 52-49 victory.

Book it!

I didn’t know how the Bills were going to make it before yesterday tbh. It seems like they have a big game every week and they win it close thanks to atleast 10 just plain crazy plays by either the quarterback or a skill player. I was thinking that somebody is going to get hurt. At the very least they were going to lose to a team that they couldn’t out-barnyard. It would be a shame to because they’re not barnyarding just to barnyard it like some other quarterback driven teams have who can’t or don’t care to do anything else that takes more effort. This isn’t how they draw it up. It’s just what always happens in these big games.

The Chiefs finishing 14-3 and the Bills finishing 13-3 doesn't exactly make the situation better for the league. The Bills beat the Chiefs head to head afterall.

The Chiefs or Bills would have to lose in week 18 to make this irrelevant.
