IMPACT!+ OVERDRIVE

Recommended Posts

Preshow matches were both pretty good. Bully/Moose was a fun opener. Enjoyed the knockouts tag, loved Tasha & Savannah's cheating throughout, would like to see them as champs but figured it was too soon for another change.

Trey/Taurus was awesome, wild as expected, and an unexpected finish. Thought going in this was Taurus' time since Trey already had the title not long ago, started to doubt it when Trey hit the amazing tope rana + Meteora combo and later the epic poison rana over the ropes but once Taurus survived, figured he'd comeback. Definitely would not have guessed an apparent heel turn but it's interesting.

Jordynne/Masha was pretty epic. Interesting layout compared to their last match and the build as it felt like Masha was almost working underdog babyface fighting injury from underneath throughout. Sad to see Masha lose again as I thought she came back after disappearing for a month to win it this time, but just like the last match, Masha stood tall on the last Impact before and ends up losing the title match.

Main event was excellent. Loved the build up even if realistically there was no way Frankie was winning, he's one of my all time favorites so cool to see him in this spot anyways. Some real good near falls throughout, if only he could've hit the Flux Capacitor, one of my favorite moves. Was kind of digging the potential Josh vs babyface Bully Ray match but it was not to be. Should've figured but didn't quite see Bully turning so suddenly and to that extreme. Post-match angle was effective at least in putting a lot of heat on the next PPV main event anyway. Though I was left wondering why Kazarian (or anyone else for that matter that had been warning Josh for weeks) didn't come back to at least try to help.

Deonna pointed out that Mickie is the one person in Impact that she hasn't beat and now she's looking to end her career.

Bully Ray then came to the ring for a promo. Bully put over the main event and called Josh the most credible world champion on the planet out of every company out there. Bully reminded everybody that he said when he cashes in, he would do it to Josh's face and that's exactly what he's about to do. Bully announced he is cashing in for the main event of Hard to Kill on PPV, January 13th in Atlanta for the Impact worlds championship. Josh accepted and they shook hands. After they left the ring, Bully then ambushed Josh at ringside and assaulted him with a steel chair in front of his wife. Bully then ziptied Josh to the rope, repeating that he did keep his word. Bully then grabbed Josh's wife Jade and pulled her over the rail. Bully teased piledriving her on the concrete and then held up the world title. Bully then threatened her with a steel chair before leaving.

Oh man!  I just watched it and Jordynn Grace wrestling the match like Ric Flair and Masha wrestling like Terry Funk was fucking brilliant.  That had to be the culmination of everything Gail Kim has worked for to establish the KnockOuts style- stiff, Mid-South wrestling.  That was fucking great.

I watched the first twenty minutes of Alexander vs Kazarian, then watched the AEW PPV, then watched the end of the Alexander vs Kazarian match.  That match was fucking balls out.  Frankie Kazarian is awesome going long.
