Paths (mostly) set for the playoff draw

Path A: Poland, Wales, Estonia

Path B: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel

Path C : Georgia vs. Luxembourg, Greece vs. Kazakhstan

Why does Path A only have 3, Path B 2, and Path C 4? Because three teams need to be sorted to see what team will join Path A, and what two teams are in Path B. That draw will be on Thursday (Thanksgiving US) at 11 am GMT

Part of me wants to quip that if Ukraine gets put in Path B, the Israel v Ukraine game will decide who gets US aid first.

Meanwhile, here are the Pots for the draw (6 groups, each group will have one team from each Pot)

CONFIRMED EURO 2024 DRAW POTS

Pot 1: Germany, Portugal, France, Belgium, Spain, England

Pot 2: Hungary, Turkey, Denmark, Albania, Romania, Austria

Pot 3: Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czechia

Pot 4: Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, Playoff A, Playoff B, Playoff C

Group of death would be: Spain, Turkey, Netherlands, Italy.

The tournament starts today, with Germany likely hammering Scotland at 3pm Eastern.

Who's going to win the whole thing?  Portugal or France are my first thought.  Germany as hosts should have a shot as well.  Can England piece together a defense?  (Declan Rice will be a busy, busy man this month.)

It is my favorite time of the year - a major sporting event that ESPN basically ignores because they don't have the TV rights!

QFT

I’m not watching live, but it sounds like they’re already not been more transparent with red cards and VAR.

Well I just turned it on and it's 3-0 Germany and Scotland's at 10 men, so something screwy happened.

Scotland ain't making it out of that group, so I guess my rooting interest goes to the Dutch.

*checks Group D*

Well fuck.

Red was the right decision, although I don't think there was intent. I watched the first half on the treadmill and it was pretty much one way and one way only with well worked goals, I reserve judgement for the next two games though. Füllkrug's goal was a fine strike.

Euro 1996 and Euro 2020 still hurt me as an England fan. Fucking penalties.

I would even add EURO 2004 to the list, England were really good back then and could have won that tournament. Although it was not their home advantage, they had a really good team and the path to the title seemed manageable.

Good call.

Definite red. Watched the highlights as I was at the pictures with my Dad, some rockets and crap goalkeeping/defending.

CM Punk wears a Germany shirt at tonight's Clash at the Castle and cost Drew McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship vs. Damien Priest. Nuclear heat.

Feel good moment as Christian Eriksen scores for Denmark, 1-0 vs. Slovenia. Still remember where I was when Eriksen collapsed. I said to my Dad something bad must have happened just showing the crowd.

As expected Hungary were tougher opposition. Germans looked shaky on the wings when Hungary attacked with pace sometimes which could be an issue playing teams like France and England. But there is also lots of positive, lots of strong players up front who seem good to great in one on one situations, something our teams were always missing in the past.

They weren't perfect today, but they didn't need to be. They still have room to grow, yet they have 7-1 goals and six points and should basically be safe in the knockouts.

With homefield advantage, they might actually have the outside shot at winning this some people assumed they would have.

It may help that Germany perform better than they did over the last three tournaments, but even the other matches are mostly fun to watch. I have mostly seen first halves of the evening games while training Cardio, but the footie seems good, games are competitive and the atmosphere is crazy. Some great goals aswell. So far, if you don't know what to check out, go for the highlights of Türkiye vs Georgia.

England's midfield is so bad. Declan Rice played like he'd never seen a soccer ball in his life before this match.

The backs didn't help, giving the ball away numerous times.

I thought Saka, Foden, and Watkins all looked good, but they couldn't get even half-decent service.

I don't understand why a team with this much talent looks like this.
