  1. I've never received a set this quickly to Canada, ever. Pretty impressed. Will dig in tonight once the kidlets are asleep.
  2. "Mad Dog" Marty Sugar??? Beat me to it: I was gonna say this concussion has been rough...but did I really forget working New Zealand?
  3. Haven't watched the whole show yet, but my favorite part was Stephanie suggesting Zach Ryder could be the face of the WWE...then they pan to Ryder, and his face shows that even he doesn't believe that bullshit. So good.
  4. Thank you. Drives me nuts when fans say "everyone hates/loves so-an-so" when really they just mean "I hate/love so-an-so."
  5. I own two of Schamberger's prints: the Savage one and the Eddie one. They're amazing. I gave the Undertaker "21-0" as a gift to my best friend and he was speechless.
  6. It's amazing. I was floored by it. I'd seen him do standup before and thought he was okay, but these two just were outright stunning. P.S. Stanhope's big stuff in that special was about helping his mother commit medically-assisted suicide, and fantasizing about raping a football player (while mocking the entire Pink Ribbon Campaign). It was...out there.
  7. Me, personally? I despise "deathmatch" wrestling. I'm not against "hardcore" matches, per se...and like Nikita said: every style has a spot on a card. But the ultraviolent shit makes me nauseous. But I run family-friendly shows. No blood, no light tubes, no staple guns. There's been hardcore brawls but most of the guys love that they don't have to get color. There's too many kids in my audiences. And you can still get your point across without the madness. We had a "streetfight" a few months ago where the only weapons used were a chair from the audience and a piece of RAIN GUTTER that the guys found when they brawled out the back door. The crowd went apeshit for it.
  8. Slowly getting into NXT. Found a good source for it, so I'm happy about that. Just watched the Zayn/Hawkins rematch and...wow. So good. I love some of the gimmicks down there: Aiden English? Love it. A heel Bo Dallas? I thought the kid would be dull forever, so kudos to him and whomever put that together. And Leo Kruger: so many friends of mine think he's dull but I think he's a great heel. EDIT: The only negative is Alex Riley. Holy shit, he's a horrible announcer. Just...yikes.
  9. Been on a standup comedy kick the past two days on Netflix. Rob Schneider (Soy Sauce and the Holocaust) was really funny. Why does he try to talk like Lee Majors when he speaks "normally," though? What up with that? (NOTE: Lee Majors might not be the right voice. Somebody watch it and help a brother out). Doug Stanhope (Beer Hall Putsch) had a lot of funny stuff, but Holy Shit is he dark and outright offensive. Not saying it's bad, but...wow. John Caparulo (Come Inside Me) was solid. Guy has some really interesting material. Rob Delaney (Live At The Bowery Ballroom) was very offensive but very funny. Reggie Watts (Why $#!+ So Crazy?) was very...different. Actually kind of inspiring as I have friends urging me to do some sort of stand-up and his style was something I'd be interested in. It mixes music and comedy and just weird shit. Brian Posehn (The Fartist) had some good stuff going. He's an interesting character. Kathleen Madigan (Madigan Again) had some really good material, but some of it seemed phoned in. Some paint-by-numbers stuff. John Hodgman (RAGNAROK) had a lot of good stuff but dragged. I find some of these guys can't really fill an hour-long special. Case in point... Aziz Ansari (Dangerously Delicious) which would've been "five-star" if it was 35 minutes long. Way better than his first special, though. My two favorites were... Iliza Shlesinger (War Paint) was amazing. This woman was just ridiculous. I was laughing my ass off from start to finish. Mike Birbiglia (My Girlfriend's Boyfriend) has to be the best standup I've ever seen. It was more like a one-act play, and it flowed so well. He mixes some amazing self-effacing comedy with some really touching stuff. So good.
  10. The Giant/Meng match was going great and I was popping like crazy...and then, done. Shitty finish. Which is too bad.
  11. The only guy that ever seemed comfortable was Monty Brown, because that guy could hit the POOOUNCE!!! from any angle. Also: there's "news" online that Rob Conway (the current revamped, re-watered-down version of the NWA World Champion), has decided to turn down a WWE Contract. Head-scratching on many levels.
  12. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. That's scary. Glad he was found, safe and sound, though.
  13. I watched House Of The Rising Sun (2011) on Netflix today, which stars Batista. When the pro wrestler with little to no actual "acting" experience is the only guy making an effort...your movie is in a lot of trouble.
  14. I read that first Walking Dead novel (Rise Of The Governor), and it was solid until a hasty ending...kind of like the last season of television. "This is due tomorrow? Scribble something down and hand it in!" Also read Zane Grey's "Riders Of The Purple Sage" and I disliked it, solely for the trite little finish. Rest was really good.
  15. Do we have to refer to you as "A Pimp Named Piranesi" now? I'm cool with that...
  16. As long as the girls get ice cream and trinkets from the dollar store, they don't really care where my money comes from. This is the world we live in, now...
  17. Watched two movies recently: Brothers Bloom and 300. I'd never watched the latter in its entirety before. It was pretty cool. I probably would've liked it better in 3D on a movie screen, but still...lots of fun. The former really surprised me: it was really flipping funny. Ending was very touching. I thought I'd zone out while I watched but I really, really enjoyed it.
  18. After only 10 days, I'm showing marked improvement with this concussion. Instead of being off work six weeks, it might be only three or four. Good news, indeed: Poppa has bills to pay, and I won't go back to stripping. I. Just. Won't.
  19. Easily just as good. In fact, it has always been one of my favorites. Loved the blood in the match. It worked great. This is a GREAT example. The IYH one where Bret blades so bad Bulldog's tights are stained pink? That match is so awesome.
  20. I've been catching up on Weeds (still on Season 4), and I think I just saw that episode...
  21. Fuck, I l Fuck, I laughed way harder at that than I should have. But come to think of it, that's not really true. Tribute shows and tribute videos and the entire "Rey avenges Eddy" angle all made money...
