  1. I don't think the Fulham fans would want anything on their shirts to remind them of Tony Khan's involvement with their club TBH
  2. Your mileage may vary, but for me Jarrett gave both Michaels and Angle their career best matches,.
  3. Posted a photo of himself and Fujiwara yesterday, pretty badass.
  4. I think the deal with Danny Burch was that he got released in April 14 (in the great BritWres purge with Oliver Grey and Mason Ryan), but he decided to stay in Florida and got himself into really good shape. Being local, they brought him in occasionally as enhancement talent (the KO match was the first example of this), but he still worked indies as Martin Stone (including a TNA One Night Only show for unsigned talent where he beat Jesse Godderz). He got a few more appearances, then formed his team with Oney Lorcan while still unsigned, eventually getting a new contract after they'd been teaming for a while. I think he was a guy they always liked- Arn Anderson praised his ringwork and JBL said he was one of the best promos in NXT before his release- and his dedication to getting in shape and permanently moving to America paid off in the end
  5. Late to the party, but Eugene was Dinsmore's idea that he suggested to Vince so he could make TV
  6. I was with you on Rampage, but hiring Visage when you've already got Sonny Kiss would be a bad move. Not only would it make Sonny less unique, but Sonny is better than Visage on every level - more glamorous, more graceful, a substantially better wrestler (because Visage is pretty terrible) and probably costs less to fly in. It'd like the WWE forming a new Shield with Kona Reeves, Caleb Konley and Ian Rotten's kid.
  7. He's great with smaller wrestlers, but he also has that terrific LMS match with Big Show, the best ever WM main event at 31 (bar the last two minutes) vs Brock and he's pretty much the reason Braun got over. Maybe he's just great at size extremes
  8. Mauro is the only commentator who has actively driven me to listen to the commentary in a different language before
  9. “She is The Joshi Judas, Io Shirai. She idolizes WWE Masked Icon Rey Mysterio, but these days she has more in common with Comic Book Villain Mysterio, who treated Spider-Man like Shirai has treated Candice LeRae.” Indefensible
  10. Only watched the two women's matches so far, but Shirai and Baszler impressed massively by managing to have good matches with middling opponents who were never likely to win. LeRae's selling manner of "getting to her feet and hitting crappy looking offence" was galling, but Io had some real oomph to her offence and that finishing submission was nasty. Baszler sold the arm beautifully, almost on the verge of tears as she couldn't quite lock in that top rope gut wrench suplex. Loved her switching to a leg-based submission, using her good arm to find added leverage to get the win.
  11. For all the bad we can say about Vince, often rightly so, this is a really classy thing to do.
  12. Not going to lie, I'm a little bit in love with our new home kit. They've even printed the opening lines to the Sky Blue Song on the inside of the collar.
  13. I'm stunned that they've not gone all "Lost in Cleveland" on Maverick and decided his wife is too attractive. I can totally picture Vince replacing her with a slovenly mess and finding it hilarious
  14. In kayfabe, I don't think you'd expect RVD to make a sensible decision, so that just seems like realistic booking to me.
  15. For all that Eric Bischoff "only had one good idea", he made WCW profitable for the first time in its history in 1995, 12 months before the NWO started. Again, not proof that he'll be any good in 2019, but he's not just some lucky idiot
  16. We're all aware Bischoff didn't actually come up with HLA, right? He was on-screen talent only. My take away from listening to 83 Weeks is different from Craig H to be honest. Bischoff is quite frank about how terrible WCW was in places and is quite open about mistakes he's made. He seems to understand the appeal of making a card a variety show, giving different styles a chance. I'm not saying in 2019 Eric Bischoff is going to be the saviour or some master booker, but I think he's quite savvy and hopefully will freshen up the shows.
  17. It confuses me that my favourite WWE tag match, the Rhodes Brothers vs Roman/Rollins, is so great despite featuring two wrestlers in Seth and Cody who are the blandest of the bland outside that match.
  18. It's quite interesting to see Rollins become the unashamed corporate guy people always accused Roman of being, while it seems that Roman is the most laid back and coolest of the Shield guys.
  19. I guess their justification is that Nia's billed weight is greater than Orton, and she's both taller and heavier than Rey so it's closer to being a fair fight
  20. I'll be honest, dunking on Will Ospreay is the closest I've come to warming to Rollins. Bonus points if he goes out tomorrow and buys his mum a car
  21. There was an Irish whip into the side of the bleachers, which I thought may have been the cause of the damage
  22. To be fair to Cornette, Callihan spat a load of water over him pre-match, which Cornette apparently had no idea he was going to do, so I think he kept his cool better than you'd expect. He didn't bury Callihan, putting over how hard he hit and his resilience, whilst also cheerleading for Mancer. Yes he called Sami a sick freak, but then Sami spat a massive gob in Mance's face and stapled his tongue to a door, so it's not an inaccurate description. Cornette's commentary is generally excellent on MLW, I think he's a massive boon to the show.
  23. So are the reports I've read that Fyter Fest and Fight For The Fallen haven't sold out yet accurate? Any idea why that could be if the All Out sell out shows there's obviously demand for AEW. The cards look pretty decent so far, is it just held somewhere harder to get to? Just struggling to balance the two.
  24. It holds up pretty well. AJ bumps big while Kaitlyn hits some big power moves (the story was that AJ had embarrassed Kaitlyn with a fake secret admirer, so Kaitlyn was fired up), before her anger causes her to make one mistake that AJ capitalizes on. Good match. What happened with Kaitlyn BTW? Made a brief comeback last year for the MYC then vanished again. She looked really good in that comeback, would have liked to have seen it continue
