  1. Yeah, but if winds up playing them at power forward, that's only a slight improvement.

    *Brick.  Brick  Brick.  Brick.*

EDIT:  If you want to know what pain is as a basketball fan, it's knowing that 46 players in the NBA last year took at least 600 shots from further than 8 feet out, and Josh Smith was 46th in shooting efficiency from 8 feet or more out with a minimum of 600 attempts.  And Brandon Jennings was 44th.  *Brick Brick Brick*

SVG will let Greg Monroe sign for the max with Atlanta without matching.  Then, he's going to trade Josh Smith to Boston for Brandon Bass and Kelly Olynyk.  Then, he will work out a sign-and-trade of Isaiah Thomas for Brandon Jennings.

Your starting lineup for next season will be Thomas, Meeks, Singler, Olynyk, and Drummond.

  2. The fuck?

I mean, yes, desperately need help sat the wings and shooting, but goddamn what?

Look at the bright side....Cartier Martin hopefully means Josh Smith plays less minutes at SF.

  3. Adam Rose is really frustrating to watch, because it's like the crowd wants to be into his act, but he does nothing to allow them to be a part of it during his matches. The Exotic Express is much more lively and focused on fan participation, but he needs to embrace the chants when they happen. Dance to them, sing along with them, encourage them in literally any way. It's painful to watch.

It would help if they stayed at ringside during matches.

  4.

Other names?   Hawes, Marion, maybe Jordan Hill?   I've heard Sefalosha, but I doubt the Heat can afford him.

I am of the school of thought that LeBron's "I want a max" deal is meant for everyone except Miami. If anyone else wants to talk to him, a max contract is where the negotiations begin (eliminating Cleveland, Brooklyn, LAL, etc.).   If Lowry gets locked up by Toronto and Gortat re-ups with DC, I think they turn to Pau with the "you want money or titles" approach that worked with so many others. Allen comes back at the minimum, and they take their chances with Cole/Parker at PG. Starting 5 is Bosh/Pau/James/Wade/Cole.

I've heard the Heat being interested in Steve Blake, Shawn Marion, Vince Carter, Luol Deng, and Trevor Ariza.

Blake makes a lot of sense to me.

  5. I just know that I will have to be wary when I walk into any business owned by a person of Arab descent because I could be refused service due to 'religious beliefs.'

    Sigh.  No, you can't.

Well, I mean, doing more to curtail Evil Presidente's spying makes up for setting precident for Closely held companies to legally religiously discriminate.

Because their rights mean more than yours.

It wasn't about the President's spying, it was about cops seizing and searching your cell phone, man.

Well that case I'm not farmilar with.  If you'd give a less partisan hacky source to read on it, I can familarize myself.

Without wading into the politics of the situation, I can say that if you want coverage of the Supreme Court, one of the go-to resources out there is SCOTUSblog.  The recent cell phone case was Riley v California.

I had to write a paper for a constitutional law class once as if I were a Supreme Court judge. You were assigned a judge at random from the current nine and had to research their ideology and write a decision on a older Supreme Court case as they would have decided. I got Scalia. My teacher apologized to me. That was the only paper in college I was ever made physically ill writing, 25 pages long. It was my own personal Heart of Darkness, my family and friends commented on how I seemed absolutely out of it while writing that paper. Nothing else was ever even a tenth the amount of stress to write.

Point being, I concur with Zeidler.

You could have fun with Scalia.  It'd be no fun writing as Thomas, although your paper would probably be a lot shorter.

    It'd be "Whatever Scalia said."

I don't think he can do that when he's writing the majority opinion and Scalia doesn't write anything.

  9. So here's my question if the nets don't take the bucks deal ( 2nd rounder in 2015) what do the nets do? can they bring Kidd back as just the coach? I'm guessing they don't want to fire him since that would mean paying the rest of his contract?

They could have demoted him to doing daily reports.

  10.

Have Orton and Brock ever had a match? On the main roster, at least...

According to the internets, Brock beat Orton in a September 2002 title match on Smackdown on the same episode where Billy and Chuck got engaged.

I thought I saw them get down on a Raw, where Orton crossbody'd Lesnar, and Lesnar rolls thru, rises to his feet - Orton in his arms - into an F5.

Brock could end the existence of humanity; pray he never wakes up.

Lesnar rolling through a crossbody into an F5 is the finish for that September 5, 2002 Smackdown.

  12. I kind of like the idea of HHH having to go to Heyman asking for Brock's help to get the title off Cena.  Although I'm not sure in storyline why HHH should be that bothered by it.  Like he was acting all pissed...but Cena's totally an A+ guy, right?  They always used his name to belittle Bryan.

He'll hate it because Heyman will continually rub it in that Brock Lesnar, unlike HHH, was able to conquer the streak.  And he'll spend five minutes backstage talking to HHH while his eyes never leave Stephanie's chest.

  13. I wonder if they're going to have Rollins cash in against Cena at Battleground or if they're going to just have him hold onto it for a while.  If not, who is he going to defend it against?  As much as I like Bray, another Cena/Wyatt match does almost as little for me as the prospect of him defending it against Orton again.

Maybe they can have Kane soften up Cena, Rollins cash in his title shot, then do a Fingerpoke of Doom type scenario to get the belt to HHH so that he can have an "Oh, shit" reaction when Lesnar comes out on Raw and demands a title shot at Summerslam.

  14.

I fully understand why they go back to Cena.  Top star, most bankable, bad time with the stock, trying to shore up ratings, match with Lesnar at Summerslam...

    But it's far from interesting.

Honestly I think the only win that would have been truly interesting to me would have been Bray which wasn't happening with Summerslam around the corner.

The most interesting scenario for Bray winning the belt would have been if Cena had won the briefcase match, so you could have Bray taunting Cena that he was going to be revealed as the fraud that he is when he cashes in his briefcase in a sneak attack and Cena refusing to do so.

For me, Cena is one of the more interesting choices because it's not as obvious which direction they should go in for a match at Battleground.

What it comes back around to is my belief going into the event that this PPV was screwed up because some guys who should have been vying for the briefcase ended up in a ladder match for the title.

  15. With the way that match was unfolding, I honestly thought that the finish would be Kane saying "fuck it" and going for the gold himself.

Cena winning is literally the LEAST interesting thing that could've happened.

Alberto del Rio, Sheamus, or Randy Orton would have been less interesting.

  16. He doesn't have a team option, his contract is only guaranteed for $1m if waived by June 30.  This is a pure salary dump.  Do the Hawks think they can make a run at a major free agent?

  17. Does this fucking guy really want me to break down why Zach Ryder is a terrible wrestler? How about this smart guy, point me to 2 or 3 matches that will change my obviously flawed opinion.

I want a Greggulator-length epic post arguing the merits of Zach Ryder vs Davey Richards.
