  1. Did my first freemode runs in at least six months over the last two days. And the first runs on the new Online version. Noticed the dots seem to be a lot higher level than I remembered. Level 800+ folks seem to be in every room now. Found out the hard way that they've somehow put something in the game that may actually be worse than the Nimbus MKII. Some new cars actually allow you to go off radar permanently, as long as you're near the car (apparently 500 meters, whatever that works out to in GTA land), and provided you don't kill another player. It also allows your entire CEO org/motorcycle club to be off radar along with you. And your org/club doesn't have that second qualifier. They have to be near the car, but they can kill as many dots as they want. Ran into several people abusing that last night. Thought it was a bug exploit. Come to find out, it's actually a feature. WTAF?
  2. Game's only been out 8 1/2 years. Give em time. They'll get it right. (Yeah, I'm not afraid to run that joke into the ground).
  3. If you haven't already, you might want to look at having a sleep study done. I resisted for years and wish I hadn't. My results basically came out as "why haven't you died in your sleep yet?" The CPAP bugged me for a couple days, but now I don't notice it really. Got my BP down 30 points, to well within the "safe" range, just by doing that.
  4. Shadowmere is great at distracting dragons. And at luring em down to ground level, so I can stop messing around with my bow and start whacking em with axes.
  5. I'm enjoying Wonderlands so far. Whacking Smurfs with an axe will never get old.
  6. Sadly, GTA5 has had them for years now, so that wouldn't be much of a surprise. The flying motorcycles are worse.
  7. How exactly is Miami close enough to winning anything significant that they need to give up that many draft picks and hand over that much guaranteed to Hill? Are they really one high end WR (whose countdown to going WR batshit crazy can't have long left on it) away from anything?
  8. The Packers existing purely to shit on Aaron Rodgers from on high is magical. They’re gonna make me a Green Bay fan in spite of themselves.
  9. I’m about as big a Christian Kirk fan as you’re likely to meet, but that’s an awful lot of money for a pretty good WR.
  10. I'll never understand that. I'll freely admit I'm a shithead griefer. That said, I'll leave people alone whenever they're in the middle of delivering stuff, unless they decide to head right at me. Only time I've gone out of my way to to mess with somebody's delivery was using a sticky bomb rigged jetski to take out a submarine. That was just too good to pass up. I can't imagine how annoying car deliveries are now that you have to contend with the the Nimbus Mk 2 users.
  11. I'll wind up buying the online portion. Again. Still haven't bothered to finish a lot of story mode after all these years, so I really don't need to buy that. melraz and I were talking last night about how different the economy of the game has become. Somehow, earning money doing the occasional mission/heist has actually become a viable strategy. It's an amazing change from the days of car duping/spamming Rooftop Rumble.
  12. I dunno where exactly fire and potential meltdown at a nuclear plant that’s being actively shelled as part of insane war during a global pandemic sit on the scale of nightmare scenarios, but I’ve got to figure they’re up towards to top.
  13. Scared the living shit out of me when it happened. Went by my face so fast I didn't even see it, but I damn sure felt it. Took me a couple seconds to recover, and then I started laughing my ass off. Left a dent in the ceiling and everything. Thankfully the whole kitchen didn't wind up covered in beans.
  14. Lesson I learned today - if you heat up a can of black beans, then put it in a thermos for your kid and then it gets misplaced and left in the heat for a week, when you open it the top will be come quite an impressive projectile.
  15. It's hard to beat Solaf and his even more annoying brother when it comes to merchants I want to feed to the dragons
  16. I haven't so much as seen a vampire in ages, and I did as much as possible before triggering the dragons, yet I still have a bunch of inheritance letters from random NPCs stuck in a drawer somewhere. Dunno what's killing these guys off. Should probably check to see if I've lost any housecarls. Actually, since I haven't done anything for Dawnguard yet, and I've never played either DLC before, does kicking that thing off start random vampire attacks on NPCs?
  17. The missions getting more linear seems like it's got progressively worse with each game, starting with San Andreas. For GTA3 and Vice City, you were really limited only by the gear/vehicles/etc you had available. SA car chases were the first missions that stuck out to me this way, where I realized I couldn't really do anything to whoever I was chasing until a trigger event had happened. Real linearity was almost unavoidable for V, with the three character setup. I kinda share Neil's pessimism. The last single player GTA I got into was SA. I HATED IV, and it took me two or three years to finish V. Online at least still allows the opportunity for creative, or ridiculous, solutions. (We're gonna do this mission standing on the roof of ambulance. Then we'll do a heist setup in a Winnebago.)
  18. Or hand a five year old kid a pair of electric clippers and tell him to go to town. That was my first haircut during Covid. Honestly, I've had worse.
  19. Assuming GTA6 and GTA Online are paired like Online was with GTA5, I don’t think we’ll see anything that’s not present day. Gotta make that sweet, sweet Shark Card money somehow, and I don’t see 12 year olds spending $25 in real money for a ‘71 Nova. They’d riot without their shiny super cars and weaponized vehicles. they’d better give me Vice City, though. Hopefully with a random encounter or two with old, washed up survivors from the 80s.
  20. Does this mean we can sue to get the Yellowstone scene added back to Major League?
  21. Might be the first time I've dripped my pipes on a day that started in the 80s. And now my deck is covered in ice. Of course my son thinks he's gonna wake up to last February's snow tomorrow. Trying to explain to him that his grandparents were kids the previous time we saw that much snow.
  22. Got a call about an hour ago that my son was probably exposed to Covid Friday. The fact that I'm relieved that's what the call was about, instead of something worse, tells you how my week is going so far.
  23. Are missions even worth grinding for money at this point? I haven't done one in years, but if they haven't raised the payouts there are quicker ways. If you have the sub or auto shop, and don't mind grinding, you can make serious money quickly from Cayo Perico or the contracts. The agency stuff pays well too after you get into that. Game's only been out eight and a half years. Give em time. They'll get it right, I'm sure
  24. I forgot what year this is. So it was actually six years ago. And y'all had left for Uranus at least a year before that thing even came out. I've been playing this dumb game a long, long time. Were you ever around to play the mission where you have to break into the military base to take out a witness for Madrazo after we found the real way to do that? step 1, steal an ambulance step 2, put everybody but the driver on the roof of said ambulance step 3, jump into Zancudo step 4, everybody shoot rocket launchers step 5, profit
  25. Y'all be quiet. Everybody make sure not to tell JT they put that out five years ago. Heck, I think Stout still has a whole garage of em somewhere from the good old days of car duping.
