God bless naive Midwesterners. If they held that show any other place there would have been a mini nerd riot with how shitty that show was.

Page/Danielson was the craziest title match I've ever seen on TV. It's kind of a ballsy move to allow them to go that hard in the first match on your network debut. The show dragged after that and the Fenix injury ended it on bad note. Maybe have a talk with whoever okayed that spot.

To me the lack of structure she's talking about is apparent and it's as much a problem for Tony as it is for the talent. It's the reason there's so many back-to-back segments that look virtually identical and why people seem to disappear from TV only to suddenly reappear with little fanfare.

Yeah, regardless of whatever discussions of race and merit there are to be had, punching down on someone who was so down on the totem pole is a fucking bizarre thing to do.

Yeah, he looked a little green, but I liked the unorthodox shoot style stuff he was going for.

It's really too bad that no other network seems interested in wrestling because there's more than enough talent to build up a new national promotion. It probably wouldn't take AEW levels of capital either.

You got to assume ROH at least worked out some deal with their champion before they released everybody. Supposedly it's coming back in some fashion. I thought Omega/Page might have been the best stylized epic I've ever seen on a PPV. It was like a Mania blow off match, but with the occasional stiff palm strike and Kawada kick thrown in for good measure. I really enjoyed it. Kingston/Punk was still my MOTN. That uraken KO spot was the most World Star thing seen in a wrestling ring. Eddie's offense looked great and Punk heeled it up as he should have. Can't wait to check that out again.

Lots of baffling names on this list, but the weirdest for me is B-Fab. Not only was she the face of Hit Row, she hits every mark for what WWE is (supposedly) looking for in talent right now. What happened there?

Holy shit, Kingston vs Danielson was incredible. People are going to talk about those chops, but there was so many violent little "uncooperative" moments in that match. I don't care about all the other silly shit this company does, they can make Slimer the AEW champion for all I care so long was we keep getting these Danielson dream matches. Dante/Sydal was also really fun Nitro style spotfest and Baker/Abadon was an entertaining spectacle. Tremendous hour of wrestling.

Danielson cut a great promo on Kingston during the Rhodes to the Top break. Go check it out if you missed it. Danielson/Rhodes was as great as expected. I liked the mix of old school psychology and modern indy style wrestling. Dustin really put it into overdrive for this one. Rest of the show? Not so great.

How much better does he need to be? He's a big guy who works like a big guy. He doesn't have to be Keith Lee busting out ranas and moonsaults.

Negro Navarro vs Jonathan Gresham was a fine enough match considering how Navarro has slowed down a bit in recent years. He still has some neat guard transitions and counters, which is all he really needs in a match like this. Crowd was wretched though. Just a bunch of drunks trying to get themselves over with stupid little remarks. Shit is embarrassing for lucha fans.

Hobbs should have gone over OC, even if it meant a dirty finish. The main was great stuff. I'm usually not a fan of high-octane AEW house style, but these guys did it as well as anyone could. They sold the physicality and let all the big spots breathe. Finish was kind of weird, but I can't say I'm not intrigued by where they're going with it.

I was expecting Miami to suck the life out of the show, but instead the opposite happened. They elevated everything and helped make this a great show.

Loved the Black Terry/Perro Guerra Jr. match from the Battle of Coacalco. Perro starts off looking like a deer in the headlights and becomes increasingly more vicious and violent as the match goes on pushing Terry to his limits. Really enthralling stuff.

It takes a special kind of stupid to pull that card when the biggest complaint about the company right now is that they're overloaded with talent. Lucky for them Tony seems like guy who lets a lot of stuff slide.

This episode was kind of meh. Dustin/Black was alright but I wish Black was more aggressive with his offense. Hobbs/Martin was fun but kind of exposed both guys a little bit. MJF's shitty attempt at a Heatwave promo was awful. It was like watching Ron Funches cut a tough guy promo. Mox/Suzuki was just a speedrun of whatever they had planned. I did like Mox's knock out shots in the finishing stretch so that's something at least.

The thing that killed the TNA brand wasn't that they were bringing in WWE guys, but that the guys they were bringing in clearly did not give a shit about the present or the future of the company. That is not the case with AEW.

Needless to say that was worth every penny. Miro/Kingston was a fun hoss vs brawler match. The finish didn't come off well, but I doubt their feud is over anyways. Lucha Bros/YBs was way over the top at times, but I wanted blood and crazy highspots and they delivered. Punk looked a little rusty, but didn't look sloppy at any point during the match. Darby was the perfect guy to reintroduce him to wrestling. Main Event was fantastic and the ending was absolutely the right way to go. The only complaint I have is that Wight/Marshall should have been switched on the card with Baker/Statlander. It was a missed opportunity to have a cool stare down with Soho and Baker.

Weird booking tonight. Putting an obvious squash match in the main event slot so they can build to another obvious squash match. Putting Mox, Darby and Kingston in a random trios so they can build up a feud that has jack shit to do with All Out. Having Miro cut another promo on Kingston with no response.

Yeah, the pilot did a pretty bad job of introducing us to this world. Maybe I missed something, but I had no idea who Mary McCormack's character was supposed to be until I looked it up on Wikipedia. Also basing it on the territories just made everything feel weirdly anachronistic. Not a great start.

I liked the main fine enough, but the crowd seemed to have no clue who Daniel Garcia was or why that match was happening. Might have been a good time to break out a gimmick brawl there.

Given how well AEW and WWE have been doing as of late, I don't think it's crazy for a company like AMC or Viacom to start looking at wrestling programing. Of course advertisers hate it, but you also need to show the cable providers that you have shows that people will subscribe to watch live.
