  1. WCW still dies when Jamie Kellner pulls it off television. I had heard a story about attempts to pull WCW programming from TBS on the Old School Wrestling Podcast where Ted Turner flipped his lid during a board meeting when asked to do just this: he said that wrestling was the main reason they pulled the rating they did back in the day and the main reason the network was able to survive, and that it had better be the last time anyone suggested pulling wrestling from the network. A better question would be if the AOL/Time Warner merger doesn't happen, would the pressure to sell off/close WCW have subsided and if so, do you think Turner would have remained in the rasslin business past 2001?
  2. Arsenal can only get a draw from Manchester United. BBC live commentary said, "Booo. What a poor game." Gunners have got to be really afraid of Bayern.
  3. Was it on RAW a while back which had a Sheamus/Cesaro match where Sheamus tries a top rope shoulder block and get SWISS DEATH?
  4. The Bears may be gutsy enough to draft Sam in the first round (hey, they made Shea McLellan a first rounder when he was projected as late second/early third rounder.)
  5. Silas is a guy from Wisconsin who has been in AAW for several years now. He's pretty solid. The last Chicago Ridge ROH show couldn't have had more than 500 people, and that was for the Glory By Honor TV tapings with the 8 man elimination All Stars vs Champions tag.
  6. Michael Cole gets his... back in 2001. I love the fans behind Cole antagonizing him.
  7. The Zach Ryder podcast has a little gem of a story involving his dad and Festus where Ryder the elder is disappointed that banging pots i.e. "ringing the ring bell" doesn't get Festus into his in-ring character at the time.
  8. Hogan vs Nikita would have been quite a dynamic program in the mid-80s, whether in JCP/NWA or in WWF. What if Nikita had gone up north after the Magnum car crash? Would Nikita/Hogan have been a big enough draw to pull in "93,000" into the Silverdome for Wrestlemania III?
  9. Good thing it happened in 1999 instead of 2014 because everyone with a camera on their mobile phone nowadays would have the "raw footage".
  10. If Vince goes to jail, you probably would have seen Memphis North with Jerry Jarrett in charge of things. Wasn't he brought in as an insurance policy should that same scenario had happened?
  11. The Jaime Dundee podcast where he goes into detail about booking stuff for Jerry Springer was fantastic.
  12. What if Magnum TA's career hadn't been ended by that horrific car crash? Would JCP still be in business?
  13. This is only a precursor to the ass-kicking Bayern München is going to dish out on Wenger's men. I'm going to give my Arsenal supporting friend so much shit. And RIP Maicon. Gone too young at 25.
  14. Would he dress as Surfer Sting or Crow Sting depending on the topic? Or just as real estate steve? Or Joker Sting when he does his Heath Ledger impression for a WWE standup comedy show?
  15. I'd go with Cobb and Minor. Moore's high walk rates bother me and I'm not that sold on Tehran as his MLB performances haven't matched his MiLB hype.
  16. That'd be 31 million Juggalos. A sure sign the world has ended. That's a shit ton of people to go to Cave in Rock, Illinois for the Gathering, or wherever the hell it is they hold it.
  17. Negro Casas (by a country mile over random WWE midcarders) Rush Titan La Sombra (big mask win and New Japan IC Title) Virus (if your're really into matwork)
  18. I know that it's Hunico as Sin Cara right now. But it would have been to the benefit of Mistico Sin Cara to have gone down to NXT for a little while and learn some of the WWE style, but he refused to do so. Hence it's ironic that Hunico Sin Cara is doing what Mistico Sin Cara should have done upon arriving in WWE.
  19. How long has Rudy Charles been in NXT? The main event had some really good selling from Neville, but the match itself was pretty flat and the fans weren't really into it. Aiden English is really, really pale. Mason Ryan is still terrible. I don't quite get the charm of Emma, but the match itself was pretty good. Sin Cara is in NXT, where he probably should have been all along. It's got to be a rib on Mistico at this point.
  20. There's a Wrestling With the Past Podcast where they talk about Hunter, and a lot of these same points come up. 2000 with his series of matches with Foley, IMO was his peak as a worker.
  21. If "performance art" was take a drink, the Chikara accountant would be at least two drinks.
  22. He kind of told the basic premise of the story, but he was caught up in telling how "fan participation" was as integral a part of the story as the story itself was.
  23. Any time you're on with Tom Green, Kevin Ford, Uncle Mike and Tom is fantastic. I enjoyed your short-lived podcast with Vin Gerard as well.. I appreciate the perspective that non-wrestlers have of everything they deal with in the wacky world of wrestling.
