  1. I gave up on Universe mode ever since 2k13 where it promised all kinds of cool features (e.g. Paul Heymen written storylines; unique cut scenes) but it never delivered.... I mean it STILL has not delivered. If you play one Rivalry, then you've played them all. I enjoy Exhibition mode and dicking around with random match-ups, but every other feature is just pointless. You don't even need to play them to unlock stuff. Absolute waste of time.
  2. Bought the game yesterday. It's one of those purchases where I know I'll play it for the whole year round. Also bought the season pass because I need to support my homie Alistair Black. So far, so good. I thought I would hate the new carry and drag system, but it is all right and doesn't feel like a tagged on gimmick. I like some of the graphical improvements; I feel that they fucked with the reversal system a little bit compared to last year. You definitely need to temper with the AI settings a little bit to actually make it feel right instead of the default settings. And Larry Z. is in and Arn is out? And we have 5 different Stings? What the fuck? Also miss the November to Remember arena, it felt so indierific.
  3. 10 bucks says this turns into a miscarriage angle..... or better yet a Mizcarriage. Totally unrelated, but what happened to the Titus Brand? Haven't seen it in a while and I kind of enjoyed it.
  4. I don't *hate* him, but he is just uninteresting. Wasted potential.
  5. If you don't have 2k16, just go straight to 2k17. Updated roster, most of the legends/moves/arenas DLC from previous games, gameplay tweaks (such as table, ladder and multiman matches). The SC showcase was alright, but missed quite a bit if you ask me.
  6. Been watching a lot of ECW ppv's lately (in random order), I really want to get into the TV episodes, but not really sure where to start though. Suggestions for a good jump off point? Speaking of which, will the WWECW shows ever be uploaded?
  7. Not gonna lie, I'm down with a Styles/Shane spotfest. He'll atleast be featured in all the highlight videos of the show. Besides, Wrestlemania isn't canon anyway.
  8. He doesn't. Chokeslam and powerbomb look dope though.
  9. Bought the Legends DLC only for Sycho Sid. I must say that the selection is pretty odd; I get Sid, Guerrero and Valentine, but since when are Brutus Beefcake and Tatanka considered legends? What made the developers think "you know what this game really needs? Brutus Beefcake!". I also love the fact that you can have pretty decent 1996/1997 era Nitro matches with all the old WCW alumni in the game.
  10. I've seen tons of criticism on Corbin, but he gets by far the most flack on his thinning/receiding hairline. It's pro-wrestling dammit, some of the biggest names were follically challenged.
  11. Caved in and bought the game. I played the fuck out of WWE 2k16, so I figured an upgrade/update was in order. A bit disappointed with the roster though, only a handful of actual new wrestlers and most of the good/new ones are DLC unfortunately (Nakamura, Bullet Club or Guerrero). Tempted to get the season pass, is it worth it? I don't care that much about the moves DLC since I rarely create CAW's or mess around with the move sets.
  12. Saw it last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't care much for Cumberbatch, but he was pretty good. Build up and pacing was nice as well. This was also the last time I was definitely blown away by the set pieces. Especially since the last 20 years I have been conditioned that every major action movie needs to have big budget special effects that I have become desensitized to them. Definitely top 5 Marvel movie.
  13. This show is utter garbage. I had to turn it off after ten minutes, Noelle got way too much on my nerves.
  14. Great thread. Was watching all the WWF Raws, Smackdowns and PPVs from 2000, but eventually grew tired of it (even though it is still an unrivaled WWE product). Can't wait to find some hidden gems in this thread.
  15. I watched this show in three parts. Way too long to keep me interested. Fun show though. I agree with the sentiment that the current WWE -kick out of every big move- style fucking sucks and makes moves seem irrelevant and matches predictable. They should ditch the term finisher and call it a signature move. Oh well, I fondly remember 15 years ago complaining about the kick-punchy style of the WWE. Which in turn reminds me of the time during Triple H's reign of terror how they wanted to make smaller moves seem more lethal (or at least reading about it in the dirt sheets). Triple H beat Jeff Hardy with a sleeper hold the following week if I recall correctly. Weird times.
  16. The amount of people getting worked by McGregor is sad.
  17. I hope Rich Swann wins this whole thing. Love that dude, although I do miss that theme he used in NXT.
  18. MMA has changed my perception of smaller guys being tough as nails, but ZSJ just looks like a lanky dork. Dude needs to hit the weights. I appreciate the WoS tribute act he is trying to do. Bare in mind, this is the first time I've seen him wrestle, but he did not live up to the internet hype.
  19. Will they ever pull the trigger on Ryder? Always, the same will they won't they bullshit. Sure, Rusev was the right man to go over, but I am ready to accept a Ryder push. The man is still over, has improved in the ring and looks good (plus that jacket was straight up Sting-levels of greatness). The falls finishes in the match got the crowd going as well (the elbow drop into the knees and the near Accolade escape).
  20. This is actually a DLC showcase in 2k16.
  21. Bought the Blood & Wine DLC for the Witcher 3. Well worth the money if you're into the Witcher 3 (which is slowly but steadily taking the top spot in my best game ever list). Heart of Stone was an amazing piece of DLC which added a few new mechanics and added a bit to the map (plus an engaging story), but Blood & Wine ups the ante. Huge map, new setting, whole menu overhaul and new gameplay elements. It's also a breath of fresh air seeing an area with more colour and sunshine, it's basically a whole new game. Highly recommended.
  22. It's great that the pre-match Dudley Boys promo from Heatwave 1999 is untouched. However, hearing New Jack come out to generic rap music is just awful.
  23. This pretty much confirms he's getting KO'd by Hunt at UFC 200, right? Cover curse and all.
  24. This thread inspired me to also watch some sweet early 90's Nitro. Started with January first of 1996 episode. Which features a damn good Regal/Benoit match. You know a match is good when my girlfriend questions whether it is fake or not. I never claimed my girlfriend is a valour dictorian, but still....
