  1. DDT is rebranding their streaming service from DDT Universe to WRESTLE Universe since they are now distributing the NOAH stuff along with their own.
  2. Tsukasa Fujimoto carries a (literal) broom in a match. 一流のプロレスラーは”ほうき”とでも試合ができる人ことを指す The top wrestlers are those that can even have matches with a broom or something to that effect.
  3. Big Japan is about a million yen away from their goal with 33 days left. There have been 798 supporters so each person is spending on average 11,000 yen each.
  4. DDT not going to hold shows with fans until after June 23rd. They originally had stopped shows until May 17th with a TJP show scheduled for May 23rd. They are planning to have a show at Korakuen on June 28th with social distancing and audience health checks.
  5. They are at almost the halfway point to their goal of 10 million yen. The campfire project lasts until early June. Campfire is one of the main crowdfunding sites in Japan. Most of the tiers just get you signed stuff. There is one tier that offered tickets to a later show but that one is sold out. https://camp-fire.jp/projects/view/266085
  6. Fearless Hyena uses the Drunken Master template but it's worth seeing at least once for the "Emotional kung-fu" part. My Lucky Stars was the first official movie in the Lucky Stars series. As Execproducer says above, Jackie isn't in it for much of the film since the focus is on the other characters. He and Yuen Biao were usually in the movies to add action as the other leads aside from Sammo Hung are there for the comedy aspect. The precursor to the Lucky Stars movies, Winners and Sinners has more Jackie in it, I think. At the very least, it has this:
  7. At least on Netflix in Japan, Deathmask (had on Beta back in the day with the very misleading clamshell case) is available under it's original title, Shaolin Prince. Eh, either the other princes are dead or just got passed over and don't care. I'm assuming the emperor in the film is a brother of the 9th Prince. Some people just can't settle for a sedan chair with swords in it.
  8. They will probably declare a state of emergency for Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Osaka, Hyogo and Fukuoka tomorrow so I don't know what the status of even empty arena shows will be for the next month. The governors of each area will have the power to dictate what is and isn't essential etc. Edited to add: AJPW has cancelled all of their shows for April, including the kick-off to the Champion's Carnival that was supposed to happen tonight.
  9. The red team is led by Shoko Nakajima and the white team is led by Rika Tatsumi. I think they picked their teams prior (it might have been a lottery). Five minute time limit. 2 count wins. In case of a draw, both are out. If it comes down to the last person on each team no time limit.
  10. Seems like. Card is here: https://dragongate.live/title/?program=live_KSBHL_20200404_E Marafuji will also be there defending the GHC tag title with Mochizuki. Their main office is in Kobe so I guess it's easy for them to get everything together.
  11. Yeah. Otsuka but listed under his other name of Otoko Sakari.
  12. GAEA has moved their GAEAISM anniversary show to 2021.
  13. The Dontaku parade event in Hakata has been cancelled. So far, NJPW hasn't cancelled this year's Wrestling Dontaku but with no parade, the number of people in the area during Golden Week severely decreases - some estimates say the Dontaku brings in two million people. Even if everything settles down by then (at this point it seems unlikely) I don't know if they would be able to draw two decent houses in a row.
  14. Dropped these links in the Joshi thread but here are what's cancelled so far at Korakuen Hall for March and April: March https://www.tokyo-dome.co.jp/hall/notice/341213.html April https://www.tokyo-dome.co.jp/hall/notice/post_2.html
  15. The number of cases in Tokyo has risen in the last few days and the governor is encouraging people to stay in on the the weekend. There was already a call to cancel any non-essential events. At the same time, the national government is inching closer to possibly declaring a state of emergency. I'm not sure if it's up to each group or not but technically the GAEA show hasn't been cancelled yet. Korakuen Hall's cancelled event list for March: https://www.tokyo-dome.co.jp/hall/notice/341213.html For April: https://www.tokyo-dome.co.jp/hall/notice/post_2.html
  16. In the lead up to their (probably now cancelled) 4/15 show at Korakuen, GAEA has been putting up some matches on their youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzPGUCt8YfzdRTG3O8JtgQw/videos
  17. The Tokyo governor is trying to shut down the city right now so pretty much all the shows at Korakuen have been more or less cancelled for the time being. Some are going with empty arena possibly because there was such short notice. No word on how this is going to affect W-1. Their last ever show is scheduled for 3/25. There was going to be a GAEA reunion show next month too.
  18. I think Izanagi is trying to recruit Aoyagi into Purple Haze. The text is too small to read but I believe that is what is going on between them now.
  19. The J. League had just started their season before suspending it due to Covid-19 concerns. They've now said that if they complete 75% of their season, there will be promotions but no relegations and the following season would feature four teams dropping rather than two. https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/no-relegation-in-japan-top-flight-this-season-says-j.league_sto7707507/story.shtml
  20. So...this is a new thing by Hana Kimura and "virtual gal" Aoi Prism. A fashion Instagram magazine called Enban Tokyo. https://www.instagram.com/enban.tokyo/
  21. Pro-Wrestling Masters could just sort of fall under the Dradition umbrella since quite a few guys do both shows. It's mainly the younger guys like the junior heavyweights who come from Wrestle-1. And now there's that sort of tie in with that Hall of Fame thing they want to start up. Anyway, this is probably my favorite tour name for this year:
  22. http://www.w-1.co.jp/News/detail?id=7433 As of 4/1. Their last scheduled show is 3/15. Anyone under contract is free from 3/31.
  23. Time heals all. Main was Fujinami/Fujiwara against Mutoh/Super J. http://battle-news.com/?p=57079
  24. AJPW kindly asks Kento Miyahara to celebrate his birthday a bit later and has canceled some shows in early March. http://battle-news.com/?p=57052
  25. In addition to NJPW closing shows, DDT is closing shows from the 28th to the 8th. I think they are giving people some free shows on their network but I'm not sure. On the other hand, Real Japan announced a show for March 19th because they are confident that if the corona virus came Kazuyuki Fujita and Daisuke Sekimoto can beat it up, make it cry and run away. http://battle-news.com/?p=57039
