  1. Meltzer lost it on his recap show when this was talked about. I'm sure Vince has a lot on his mind day to day, and not sleeping probably keeps things pretty scrambled in his brain, but that's pretty funny he doesn't know where his son is...
  2. Reading this thread and listening to Meltz and Alzarez recap this show is telling me I'm not missing anything by never seeing Raw or Smackdown.
  3. Wonder how much colts advertising revenue (what he makes from advertisers) may go up based on this show? Anyone think wwe acknowledge the show or what he said?
  4. What "type" does HHH like? Because from what I've seen he groomed Batista, likes all the guys who were in The Shield, signed Sin Cara, likes all of the Wyatts and has signed a ton of super indy performers. What do all of these people have in common? I'm not sure. Maybe he just doesn't vibe with Punk or I'm just being a Punk mark.
  5. Ryback has had more responces to Punk on Twitter. Don't know how to share that but go look. About the sponsor on shorts thing. Didn't Chavo or someone else like Shelton Benjamin have an offer like that at one point? Punk as mma bad ass doesn't work for me.
  6. Punk saying HHH always looked at him sideways is believable to me. Much like Vince, HHH seems to have his "type" of wrestler he likes. Cabanna thinking punks original program with HHH was meant to bury him (come back from retirement, win, right back onto retirement) seems about right. The Shield stuff worked out for the better. Punks arguments about who will be here Monday really !make sense. Any pro wrestler who isn't a total mark will always tell ypu to be looking for a new program and more money. That's what pro wrestlers do. Punk clearly wanted programs to make money and that's what he should do.
  7. He ain't coming back... This is blowing up today big time. I'd love to know who in WWE is listening to this today
  8. I understand that makes sense, so that's how it's gonna go.
  9. Well... that seems like a show. Poor Cesaro is so good he just jobs. It would be AWESOME if Cena went down first, but that dude is pinning probably EVERYONE in that match. I'll still watch because I pay.
  10. Being as yoked as he is probably helped his neck from snapping.
  11. This doesn't answer the macho question, but didn't Savage do a "shoot style" interview for WCW towards the end of WCW as well? I would LOVE some non-kayfabe Savage stuff from Savage. RIP!
  12. I'm starting to get podcast worn out with wrestlers like Foley. I can't imagine he is going to tell any stories we haven't heard. Meron really goes at his interviews with wrestlers from a different angle, but the same stories come out. I really enjoy WTF but this will probably be skipable. Unless he talks about his creepy creepy obsession with women half his age. *I don't remember that exchange with Colt, but I do recall him being fairly complimentary of his work ethic. Punk put himself over and it was almost a copy of his DVD.
  13. How hard could it be to put together some surviro series teams? They could put together a NXT team and have them face off against the midcarders who do jobs on NXT, that's one match right there and it took me 3 seconds to think of it. When there were "traditional" SS matches, did all of the participants have heat with each other, or was that mostly for the main eventers? If there needs to be no heat, then they could so easily put together something...
  14. Post like this remind me that this board has a million amazing ideas that would work so well on the network. I don't think WWE is worried about Kayfabe on the network, so a show called like "First Encounters" (i don't work in media, I know that name is poop) showing these types of matches would be cool and probably eye opening for a lot of fans, me included. Or even showing some guys as enchancment talent.
  15. She's still hot. Wonder if Brad Maddox gets a shot in PWG?
  16. What is Crowes current gimmick? Heard Hacker Crowe was back...?
  17. Agree with the O'Reily comments. I like his selling in an MMA way, but when he STRIKEZ I get annoyed. He's gettign better and Fish is really good in his role.
  18. He's selling the KO. I dig Kyle O'Reilly's MMA style selling. Not a lot of guys are doing it and I think it makes things look a little more legit. Of course, sometimes he goes overboard and then ignores all the selling he just did... but... I dig it.
  19. According to Da Meltz, WWE's audience skews older. * The average viewer (for the three shows) is 41.4 years old. The report indicates that viewership is getting older instead of younger. * Audience viewership is 63% male. Total Divas skews number down a bit because it would be closer to 68% for just Raw and Smackdown. * The viewership for three shows is less than 19% under the age of 17. 22% of the viewership is between 18 and 34, and 22% between 35 and 49. 37% is over the age of 50. Credit: The Wrestling Observer This probably means nothing to the WWE and won't mean we will get attitude era content again anytime soon. The WWE is publicly traded so there are a lot of hands in the pot to control things. If for some reason the WWE did decide to skew its content for adults, I wonder if creative is, well, creative enough to go a little edgier but not have Women stripping or dudes bleeding buckets and old lame dick jokes and the crappy parts of the Attitude Era?
  20. I don't know when it will happen but Punk will probably be back and no one at the WWE will mind when all of his T-Shirts sell out and he makes people some cash. That being said, i'm going to pick up his Thor Annual. I don't follow Thor but i'm somewhat familiar with his character and i'm interested to see "super fan" Punk write some books. I hope it says CM Punk as Writer and not Phil Brooks.
  21. Joey does seem to hate wrestling, but he seems to love his era of ECW. WWE must pay him a LOT to not return to his previous career. Through the clips that were shown I realize now how OVER USED the OMG! was. Oh well. Some of the stuff that Heyman talks about is pure carny crap and he surely forgets how he screwed a lot of his dudes over (if he built those guys or not doesn't matter) but I suppose that wouldn't make a good narrative for that show. WWE has got to be aware how re-hashed all these stories are by now, correct? Most if not all of this stuff is covered elsewhere on the network or in WWE previous releases (Paul Heymans Doc, Rise and Fall)... I just felt like there were a lot of eye rolling moments on the show. I love how Joey Styles always makes it seem like saying wrestling on a WWE show is sooo edgey. I hate "WWE SUPERSTARS" and "SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT" as much as anyone, but it always makes me smirk when Joey makes sure to call it WRESTLING.
  22. Where can I get last nights NJPW show? I love me some dark Kenny omega
  23. As !ich as I love Dragon, I think your final question is answered by saying, "both." The fans do want something different and that's why they go nuts anytime someone new makes a slash. But, as long as Cena is making a mint in T-Shirts nothing is gonna change. Casual fans love them some Cena. Speaking of which. I posted a pic in the Oct photo thread of me meeting Sami Zayn. Paige and Alicia Fox were with him as well as that new tattooed NXT trainee. A guy in a neon green Cena shirt walked past their group 3 times and never once gave them a second look. Now, obviously I'm more of a hardcore fan, but these casual Cena fans don't seem to be aware of the entire roster. This is probably a horrible point, but I think the WWE isn't putting out there stars like they did in the attitude era. Or, maybe since I'm in Tampa and randomly see Cena, Batista, Jericho and all sorts of Nxt workers I might not be the standard. I'd love to go an episode without seeing Ambrose. Not because I don't want to see him, but I want to be excited to see him! They have an insane roster of talent AMD a horrid "creative" that doesn't know what to do with them...
