  1. It is Megabyte. One of my Discord friends, his favourite AEW match of all time is Megabyte Ronnie vs Brian Cage. He reposts it almost every week. This one.
  2. Apparently quite a lot of the NHL's tape library archive was purchased from a tape trader, who set up a national network of VHS enthusiasts to make sure that he would get the full broadcasts of every game on every channel nationwide. He'd get people to send him the footage, and then edit out all of the pre-game, all of the post-game, and all of the actually playing Hockey so he could make his "Best Hockey Fights" compilation tapes. But because he kept all of the raw footage, that meant that he was suddenly, accidentally the official video librarian of the league. His name is Sandy Bowens, he's Anthony Bowens' dad.
  3. Trailer for Slowburn Shoot: An Indie Wrestling Story Probably some of the footage was shot quite a while ago, because it's AIW but you've got Johnny Gargano and Britt Baker featured prominently.
  4. Joker: Folie a Deux teaser trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHtX1eeT0xg&pp=ygUSam9rZXIgZm9saWUgYSBkZXV4 Full trailer is releasing in a few hours apparently.
  5. If they get a one week ratings pop from people tuning in for the controversy, for discourse fuel, that's presumably a lot of fresh eyeballs on the show. If the show is good, might be a decent chance some of the people connected to those eyeballs decide to watch next week as well, or maybe buy the PPV. Obviously if the show stinks, that would be bad. So hopefully AEW puts it's metaphorical best foot forward on Wednesday.
  6. Wrestling twitter has been calling Damien Priest "Cuntertaker" for months. Gigi Dolin even called him that (on twitter). WWE is just PGing that.
  7. They did turn on Bryan. They're fickle. So the streamer in the Prime bottle, I remembered where I knew him from. He went viral (beyond his audience) because he went to the World Cup and was racist. Went up to a South Asian guy an Argentina shirt and went "Konichiwa, why Argentina?". The guy responded "No Konichiwa. Chinese." And then Speed started aggressively yelling "Konichiwa" in his face over and over again. It wasn't a good look. But because he was in controversy over that, other stuff started coming out about how he was also sexist and a shameless grifter too. And his actual content is basically being loud and stupid. So that's why Randy Orton booting him got traction, he's another of those internet celebrities who has a large audience of kids who love him, and a larger group of people who know who he is, and think he's a twat.
  8. That's what the DVDVR has always advocated for: Good punches.
  9. The Wrestling world can't get enough of Son of Dusty vs Champion Samoan Joe this week. Although AEW do have the best Son of Dusty, and the best Samoan Joe, so the match will probably be better.
  10. Octopus, after watching one Matt Tremont vs Judge Joe Dred match.
  11. Triple H being the Al Bundy of Wrestling isn't news. He literally talks about the DX invasion of Nitro as if it was the night he scored four Touchdowns. Although in a way that implies Al Bundy only scored two Touchdowns, and then they got a two point conversion off of a kickoff return TD. IT WASN'T A FUCKING TANK YOU LYING GIT.
  12. As far as Triple H and the schedule goes, you have to remember that this is something he's been talking about for decades. His whole thing about leaving WCW for the WWF was that he wasn't getting ringtime in WCW because it was just a TV company, and then when he went to the WWF and started touring and having 5 or more matches per week, that's when he thinks he got better at wrestling. And he's been talking about that ever since it happened. It's not something he's going to budge on, it's a fundamental belief of his.
  13. So a YouTuber I watch, they edited the Kenobi show down into a two hour movie, to make it good instead of bad. This is a link to their "How I did it" video, with the dowlnoad link in the description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNnghBOi7xk
  14. EAT THE TURNBUCKLE Final Bloodbath Battle Royal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MazofMYvHo&feature=youtu.be It be a Metal concert as well as a Wrestling show. Simultaneously.
  15. WWE has been firing shots at AEW all week. Given ample opportunity to say "We're going to have a great couple of shows on Saturday and Sunday, be sure to watch on WWE Network or the domestic cock", instead they've been acting like they're obsessed with the competition. AEW deciding to capitalise on that is the exact professional wrestling move they should be doing.
  16. Controversy Creates Cash innit? The Online Discourse~! leading into Mania was all about Punk and WWE firing shots at AEW, and wrestlers who WWE was wooing that signed with AEW instead. So therefore, trying to capitalise on that and pop a TV rating off the back of it, that's just good business sense.
  17. Book gimmick? Bloody Leva Bates wannabe.
  18. It is amusing that Sami has been in WWE for over a decade, but didn't get to do the Turnbuckle Brainbuster in WWE until after Takeshita had used it in AEW. Makes it look like he's decided to copy El Generico's Japanese protege for no particular reason.
  19. Adrenalin In my soul Dude Wipes to replace Your Bog Roll. Yeah, Mania night One was a pile of shit innit?
  20. Josh Barnett's Bloodsport (formerly Matt Riddle's Bloodsport, but he went to WWE) is a tribute to the shoot-style wrestling you used to see in Battlarts or UWF-I. This being the DVDVR, I suggest that rather than seeking out highlights, you instead watch ALL OF IT~! In all seriousness, watching the Nobuhiko Takada vs Gary Albright matches, and then the Takada vs Vader matches, that's the commercial peak of the style. The artistic peak would be anything with Daisuke Ikeda vs Yuki Ishikawa. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Tz70dElEjc As far as Bloodsport events, the way they work the style, they tend not to have those 20+ minute epic matches. A lot don't go much beyond 5 minutes. So just watching every match on every Bloodsport isn't that huge of a time investment.
  21. Billie Starkz post-match promo, with her parents: https://twitter.com/ringofhonor/status/1776619207309836560
  22. Well, it was always Tony Khan's plan to start a money mark promotion at some point. It was just the first All In doing what it did that convinced him that the iron was hot and it was time to strike. If he hadn't started AEW in 2019, he would have started a Wrestling promotion eventually. But it wouldn't have been called All Elite Wrestling, probably.
  23. The ICW NHB show from last night (that was head to head with the WWE HoF, ROH Supercard of Honor and GCW Spring Break), it's really good. Same building as DEAN~!!, 24 hours later, and bloody as hell. But unlike a lot of "Every match is a Deathmatch" shows, it's not got that monotonousness. Every match has been different. Hoodfoot and Clint Margera were even doing limbwork! Strike the arm, twist the arm, stab the arm with glass. Lovely stuff.
  24. Anyone like Star Trek, play D&D, and have shitloads of disposable income?
