  1. Cheers for the heads up. It's been fun looking through these. I particularly liked this one.
  2. WWE once had a stable where Brock was the smallest guy (I can't find a decent picture but Team Lesnar later added A-Train too)
  3. I saw Alexa on the UK NXT tour last year. Even though she was facing Asuka and NOONE questioned the outcome at all, she was great at riling up the crowd, stalling and she really laid her offence in too. I honestly thought she was one of the best performers on the whole show in terms of engaging the audience. Lot of time for her.
  4. I've been trying to find a gif of The Surfer Dudes with Attitudes but have so far been thwarted. This will have to do: Bonus Southpaw gif content:
  5. Finally caught up on Revival vs New Day and it was great. The attack on the ice cream bike was incredible; kudos to New Day selling the Revival being the ones to answer the open challenge too, I thought Big E and Xavier had really good reactions there. Graves' enthusiasm was great but did Cole have his notes mixed up? He put over Dawson as the powerhouse and Dash as the calculating one (actually saying he was known as The Mechanic). I kept thinking it must have been driving Corey nuts. Not related to Raw but this rules. Dawson is the best.
  6. Yeah that's the thing that surprised me. He's been around in development forever but outside of one Access and the local Florida shows he's been pretty well hidden. There was some debate on here a while ago if anyone would ever go from development straight to the main roster again, so as to be a total surprise. They sort of did that with Braun after his NXT hype videos never led to anything (but I think that was injury related). I always thought Miley would be a candidate to get called up to align with Bray or something.
  7. I dig the AoP generally, but can I say that Akam is really getting it together. Bumps great, hurty offense, and has a lot of presence. I could do without the "boo. they are foreign" trash talk. Aren't they speaking different languages anyway? (Rezar is Albanian, but I'm guessing that Akam isn't with a name like Sunny Dhinsa). It reminds me of Low Down, where they have to introduce a xenophobic element to the gimmick, cos er, I dunno, WRESTLING. Still, big, mean trash talking monsters is all good, though that Full Sail crowd was dead even for DIY for some reason. Revival were great at the end. Ohno looks terrible. A guy gets cut, then gets brought back in the main event and he still looks like he's turning up for an IT interview. For gods sake man have some pride.
  8. You know he's had a pretty deep backstory since his first CWC vignette right? He's more rounded out as a character than 99% of the roster. Plus for a thrown together tag team of dudes who love to have fun, No Way Can You Handle This or whatever they are called were pretty over.
  9. Some new behind the scenes footage of Justice League. Lots of greenscreen, so hard so say what any of this will look like. Jason Momoa looks like he's having a ball anyway.
  10. I've loved all the chopblocks and superkicks to the knee the Uso's have been using since their heel turn. This one on Chad Gable was awesome.
  11. Oh, I should have mentioned. I don't think Cedric should definately go over if that were to happen. But I think they could have a pretty good cat and mouse match at a PPV that could continue to establish Strowman as a monster and further build Cedric as an underdog babyface, even in losing.
  12. I figured they would move Strowman on from smashing local wimpys by having him interrupt a cruiserweight match at some point. I would be ok with him steamrollering some of the smaller dudes like Swann and Lince Dorado if it led to one guy stepping up to him, and the perfect guy would be Cedric Alexander. I think some of his offense is explosive enough to look credible against Strowman (His handspring kick and springboard clothesline could chop down a big dude, though he aint gonna be using the Lumbar Check). Though it looks like Cedric is going to be busy with the Dusty Classic. The crowd are getting behind him big time though, it looks like he's gonna be the breakout star from the CWC.
  13. Rikishi has been hyping Samoan Werewolf as the best of the young Samoan guys for a while, so I would not be surprised to see him get the call.
  14. Ah ha, cheers. I was skimming youtube videos and saw one DX theme labelled '95. The discographies I've found for Johnston tend to group things by when they were released as an album so it gets confusing.
  15. Yeah, you could be right. I was thinking about Johnston's best 90s stuff and a lot of it is a few years apart. Goldust and DX is 95 (I hate DX but it's a pretty classic theme). Mankind and Austin is 96. Nation of Domination is 96 too, it has the great voiceover but is pretty blah music wise. Rock didn't get what would evolve into his classic theme until 97. CFO$'s 2014 is hard to beat too: Rusev, Ascension (it's a great dumb metal wrestling theme, I don't care what anyone says), Sami Zayn, Sasha Banks, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor all got their themes that year.
  16. Fully Loaded 99 has the Acolytes vs The Hardyz and Hayes. It's generally a mugging but they noticeably beat the shit out of Hayes in particular.
  17. I saw an interview with Bobby Roode recently where he named Curt Hennig as one of his favourites. He's another guy who I've heard named by a bunch of wrestlers as an inspiration/influence (though I'm totally blanking on names).
  18. If you're counting NXT guys then Gzim Selmani of the Authors of Pain has an MMA record of 4-2 (though he retired with a loss at Bellator 130) http://m.sherdog.com/fighter/Gzim-Selmani-112975 Jesus Christ that dude is 22 years old. The other AOP was a champion junior wrestler so he probably belongs on the wider list of WWE badasses but I'm not sure if only a bronze at the Junior Worlds will bump you past Sin Cara, champion of catering brawls. http://www.abbynews.com/sports/221215991.html?mobile=true
  19. All this talk of who they could sign to pad out the roster and no mention of Chris Masters yet? For shame DVDVR.
  20. Before the gimmick change, Hunico was killing it on the C-shows. I always thought he had great suplexes, certainly compared the high flying he has to do as Sin Cara, which has never played to his strengths. He was much better at bullying Justin Gabriel around. *I am aware that being good at beating up Justin Gabriel doesn't keep you in gainful employment as long.
  21. Trinity Mirror, one of the UK's biggest media groups, announced a new daily tabloid newspaper today. Called NEW DAY. Cue relentless trolling. I wonder how long it's going to take until Big E joins in. http://www.theguardian.com/media/mediamonkeyblog/2016/feb/17/new-day-trinity-mirror-wrestles-with-the-daily-newspaper-market
  22. Just got back from NXT in Blackpool. It was actually my first ever WWE show (despite being a fan for 20 years) and it was a blast. Everyone worked hard and the crowd was great, a lot of funny chants without making it totally about themselves. Really looking forward to Takeover London. I will definitely go to the next NXT tour over here too. My video of Jordan and Gable are 2Unlimited: https://www.instagram.com/p/_Pt5u6rSQD5vPs6XFTxlsxCd4g6QdrUC7q9eg0/ Edit: the link works now, doh
  23. I didn't realise that (haven't watched all of the last episode), great stuff! Cheers!
