  1. Only saw him once, years ago, in the Down From The Mountain review. In an evening of some folk, country and bluegrass heavyweights, he by far had the most impact (and yes, even at the first time I saw Emmylou Harris).
  2. I saw him at the circus ages ago when I was a kid.
  3. Wikipedia says she was 96. She was also the voice of Princess on Battle Of The Planets and Wilma's mother on the Flintstones. She was one of the go-to voice actors for Hannah-Barbera. RIP and cheers, Janet.
  4. i somehow doubt they went to the same place.
  5. Burt Kwouk, who played Cato in the Pink Panther movies, has passed at the age of 85.
  6. Veteran character actor William Schallert has passed at the age of 93. He appeared in tons of roles, including the father of the late Patty Duke on the Patty Duke show, but possibly his best known role was as Nils Barris, the asshole space station administrator on the classic Star Trek episode, "The Trouble With Tribbles". He was also the president of SAG for a spell.
  7. And it's good night from him ... I always enjoyed the 2 Ronnies, tended to like him whenever he showed up anywhere else. Unlike Barker, Corbett seemed to have more of a sense of humor about himself. He actually found the Not The Nine O'Clock News parody to be funny.
  8. I had forgotten he was in Being There.
  9. If they are leaning to doing Born Again for the next season, it really deosn't make any sense.
  10. And he was awesome in that one episode of Firefly he did.
  11. Damn it! I'd heard he had not been in great health. I was a prog rock kid, I know it was never cool but I loved that stuff and enjoyed listening to his playing. RIP.
  12. Besides the Beatles, sir George produced a couple of wonderful Mahavishnu Orchestra albums that I love. He was also the top producer of British comedy albums in the early 60s, which is something the Beatles loved about him when they first started working with him. I grew up on those albums.
  13. I enjoyed his work on X-Men, lovely clean style. RIP
  14. I kind of like the added scenes from it as isolated deleted scenes but didn't like the end product with them edited back in.
  15. Might be a bit of an overused pick, but Winston Wolf in Pulp Fiction. Only in the movie for a few minutes, but every line is made of pure gold (similarly, Marcellus Wallace). "So pretty please, with sugar on it ... clean the fucking car." "Wellllll .... let's not start sucking each others dicks just yet."
  16. Can't believe I skipped past this one, so very yes. My favorite line of his isn't the obvious one, but : "Say, where's Paulie?" "Paulie? Oh, you ain't gonna see him no more."
  17. Hollywood Jack Vincennes. Not sure if any character has quite hit for me the perfect balance of charismaticaly glamourous , repulsively scummy and heartbreakingly sympatheticat the same time. A lot of that is down to Spacey's performance, including stealing Guy Pearce's big scene with three words. (Pearce does get his own later, owning a big scene with just a prolonged silent beat.)
  18. Natalie Cole's people are pissed that she got montaged and didn't get her own special tribute. One more and it would have been damned close to nothing but special tributes.
  19. No love for New Adventures In Hi Fi? I maintain that is a criminally underrated record.
  20. Might be just where my head is currently at, but Springsteen's first five are all aces in my book : Greetings From Asbury Park , NJ The Wild, the Innocent and The E Street Shuffle Born To Run Darkness At The Edge Of Town The River
  21. So did Signe Anderson ... half of the original lineup of the Airplane is now gone
  22. The most offensive line for me was : And hating the Eagles defines whether a music fan is a fan of music or just a bandwagon-jumper. Excuse me, but who in the holy fuck are you to invalidate anyone else's music tastes? And whether someone likes, dislikes or hates the music of the Eagles (and I will be open in that I really did not care for their music for most of my life before becoming a huge fan in the past couple of years), is now the fucking time to print this and crap all over their fans who are in mourning?
  23. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/glenn-frey-death-sad-eagles-lousy-band-article-1.2501461 May I please kick this guy in the testicles? Please?
  24. Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams) has passed at the age of 74 from, you guessed it, cancer.
