  1. The last season (not counting the aborted Headmasters season) was actually my favourite. The stories seemed bigger and I loved the down on their luck Decepticons trying to survive and Rodimus trying to live up to Optimus' legacy. The main problem was that they rushed Optimus' return, I know why they did it, but that really should have waited at least a year. In some ways, it could have been TF's version of the Super Powers Team season of the Superfriends, with the more serious (almost darker, at times) stories. I chalk up the lack of respect to the frequent animation errors of that season. Also wonder if kids at the time were put off by the new characters and by things being too "futuristic"? (IMO, the first two series of Transformers toys were the best of G1 because of their mostly realistic alt modes)
  2. Realistically, yes, though decades later I can appreciate its narm. But like Barry Darsow, George Gray, and Keith Franke, Julia put his heart into the role that it's hard to call really crappy.
  3. At my library, I saw that a lot of Hannah Montana DVDs were checked out. I fear who might be watching them....
  4. Not an actor, but Bob Clark of "A Christmas Story" directing "Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2." /And now the poor guy must be rolling in his grave because of ACS2 from last year.
  5. More shocking still, the director of Superbabies was...Bob Clark, who directed A Christmas Story. What's more, I believe this was his last movie before his death, poor guy. (and the rolling in his grave caused by A Christmas Story 2 can't help...) My interest gets piqued whenever I see Paul Dini or Bruce Timm in the credits for some '80s cartoon. Likewise, when I see a voice actor in a live action role...Michael Bell, for instance, appeared on Mary Tyler Moore and Three's Company. And William Woodson was on an MTM episode, where he was in a casting call to replace...Ted Baxter, like THAT ever happened in real life. Not "casting" per se, but Heather Graham appearing as a contestant on the game show version of Scrabble.
  6. There's going to be a Prime movie? Now why can't this go to theaters and not Bay's HUMANS, er TRANSFORMERS 4?
  7. Any thoughts on the finale of Transformers: Prime?
  8. The specials version/Imperial Commander from Lost Star >>>>>>>>> Thanos. Seriously, however, Michael Magee did pass away a couple of years ago...
  9. I figure if he can fit a propulsion system that can lift multiple humans (plus the weight of the armor itself) in the soles of his shoes, then he can fit one in a faceplate. But he's not smart enough to fight Extremisman at range and keeps going in close and getting smashed. Hey maybe you just explained one of the things I hated about the movie: the reason they had Extremis breathe fire that one time. (I'm kidding: neither of those things actually makes sense) I think at this point, I'd put Iron Man and Austin Powers in the same boat: only the first movie in each trilogy was the really good one.
  10. As I said in the other thread, I'd vote for Len Carlson if he were still alive, or Bob Dermer. Or to be risky, make Rocket a girl and get Susan Roman to do the voice. Now let's see who gets these references...
  11. If he was still alive, I'd want to see Len Carlson as Rocket just so I could geek out. Or at least Bob Dermer....or, at the risk of raping Guardians fanboys' childhoods, make him a her and have Susan Roman do the voice. /The latter choice would actually rock, IMO. //Now, let's see who gets these references. ///Back on topic, I'm actually cool with it, as my Affleck hatred has dissipated now that we've been a decade or so removed from the annoyance of Bennifer. Just as long as we have a Batman who doesn't talk like he needs a lozenge (I saw Begins again recently and Bale's voice was OK then, it just got way over the top by TDK when he had to give longer stretches of dialogue). And more detective work, por favor!
  12. I took it more as a Lady Gaga tribute, as others have.
  13. If only they included the Dr. Ruth parody....just to hear "Zex und zez und zex und..."
  14. Same one that got beat up legit by New Jack? You mean his stint as a lovable Desperado didn't help?
  15. Which show was this? Cause I am now thinking of his commentary on the "Jobber" vs. Knapp show...which reminds me of how ESPN cut that episode to shreds. Things are referred to that aren't shown, like the Ebony Experience's sister beating Sebastian in a match for EE's freedom from their contract. These were all seen on the syndie/Dallas/SportsChannel show. Did Legends ever get further into 1992? (Viper, Bungee match, etc) Cause I don't know if you'll see any of this in the set of shows ESPNC has picked up. Oddly, I thought ESPN2, when they reran GWF in the mid '90s, got the original versions of the shows.
  16. Hard to believe that Bad Breed started in Grey Pierson-era GWF. They're hardcore! They're hardcore! It sounds to me like ESPNC started off in late-'92 and continued on until the end of the promotion's run (and wrestling in general) on ESPN. Hence the Pierson stuff and the 1991-early '92 being the "Legends" reruns and not the original shows. For the person who mentioned Brandon Baxter, ESPN doesn't get to the part where he turns heel and becomes a manager (at one point teaming with Baboose the Witch Doctor and calling people "honkies"). They also miss the hair weave incident, the Freebirds returning, Ahmed Johnson as Moadib, GWF predating ECW by 3 years when Toni Adams sides with Iceman Parsons against Chris, and brings their son in for a shot or two...among other things.
  17. Which reminds me, I know thay GWF only got a few more new episodes in during Spring '93, did anyone ever show the Adams/Kevin vs. Freebirds match from the Kerry Memorial? Maybe on the syndie/Dallas local show that continued into 1994?
  18. Electro had better call Spidey a "BORN LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSER" at some point.
  19. I didn't see one, and wanted to comment about discovering The Mongrels on Hulu recently. Anyone ever watch that? (though, if you don't like Family Guy, you may not, as it's basically FG with animal puppets. Still great though, and I am one who didn't give up totally on FG anyway...)
  20. Yep...wonder if they'll add Flash Punches of Doom to it, or did they have them already, seeing as it originated on Vortexx's ancestor?
  21. Glad the board is back, this is formerly James_Fabiano, BTW. So...DC Nation 2.0... I see someone just above me mentioned Beware the Batman, and I was one of the biggest skeptics, but I must say the show is growing on me for what it is. Was pleasantly surprised to see And I am a fan of the Magpie Ala Gaga character, and can't get "Shiny, shiny!" out of my head. I only saw a few TTG!, if you'd like an extended version of the DC shorts, I guess it's all right. Just have to shut off your brain for a while, I guess. Like the Lois shorts, like the one with Bizarro even better.
