Jungle Boy being off TV for the past month or so to build this angle up is probably the right thing to do, and it's clearly working so far as Christian is just killing it on the mic.

I'm not convinced though they've worked out how it's going to play out once he returns. If you assume that he's going to have to get through Luchasaurus to get to Christian, he's probably going to need some form of backup in this - and no-one really stands out as an obvious choice. Matt Hardy seems the logical one based on the beatdown they did and history with Christian, but not physically imposing enough to be someone that can counter Luchasaurus. Be interested to see who the big guy not really doing anything that gets shoehorned into it is. Page/Wardlow seems a step down. Lance Archer isn't really doing anything else. Vignettes of Jake Roberts teaching Jungle Boy how to give in to his dark side and deal with Christian would be fun, especially if there's a nod to the time he did it with Warrior, and them basically just saying outright that Jake will turn on him at some point, it's just when..

    JB doesn't need back up.

All Out - Luchasaurus vs Jungle Boy - Christian blasts JB with a chair. Luchasaurus traps him in the Tar Pit and JB passes out.

JB - "I didn't quit and you never beat me!"

Dynamite Grand Slam - Luchasaurus v Jungle Boy - Christian banned from ringside. JB wins.

Full Gear - Jungle Boy vs Christian - Lights Out. JB drills Christian with a Con-chair-to.

Then we build to JB vs Wardlow for the TNT Title in early 2023.

  2. Small detail but was this the first time that Swerve & Lee wore colour matching gear? Usually Swerve is in purple/orange and Lee has pink/blue.

    Tonight they both wore red/black.

It's a little detail but it shows that they are getting on the same page as a team ?

  3. I think Wardlow v OC ends up a shmozz.
Sterling/Nese maybe get involved. Maybe Spears could fuck it all up.

Mox is doing what I wish they did with Hangman - He's a fighting champion and he's calling people out.

EDIT: Putting out my wish/will for some Jayme Hayter please and thank you.

It’s way easier to chant “WE WANT TABLES!” than “WE WANT HOLLOW CORE DOORS!” though.

Can get the dueling chant as well -

    We want tay-bulz

    New banner of AEW Champions.

Looks great but I wish the TBS title was on Jade's right shoulder. Same with the tag title on Nick Jackson. Don't hide it behind Thunder Rosa.

It's little production details like this that would go a long way to making AEW a much better brand.

  6. AEW is ready for women's Tag Team Titles.

    Rose/Shafir

    ThunderStorm

    Baker/Hayter

    The Baddies

    Athena/Statlander

    Martinez/Deeb

Find out what Sasha's contract deal is and get her in there to be the Ace (Most title runs, Most wins with different partners? Longest run etc) and away they go.

I also absolutely LOVED the crowd dunking on the Bucks and chanting for FTR.

They need to get the AEW titles onto FTR before AAA or NJPW book a switch. Battle of the Belts in a few weeks makes sense.

Man, Gresham is such a black hole of a charisma. I really don't even know how you fix it. Fucking Dean Malenko was one of my favorite wrestlers and maybe my favorite wrestler when he was killing it as a Cruiserweight and US champion in WCW. He never said a word. He did have this sort of physical charisma though that just made him so compelling to watch. I have tried thinking of Gresham in that way and he just doesn't have it. He's a great technician, but he has a total inability to be remotely compelling. Him talking only makes it worse. Someone compared him to a dude that does your taxes. More than anything he just reminds me of the plethora of UFC guys that are horribly, horribly bland and that would get owned at pre fight press conferences.

What little I've seen of him in the ring I like.

I think he would benefit greatly from adopting a 'silent killer' type attitude, getting a manager etc.

  8. It's a tiny little thing. A 3 minute video. But it builds, so so so much into who this guy is and why he's doing the things he's doing.

Imagine in 12 month's time, the JAS are fighting with say Andrade, RUSH etc and they end up in another Blood & Guts match.

    And Matt Menard says "No".

Since Claudio is in BCC he's probably not going to a secondary show though. Christian would be a good choice but he just turned. Matt Hardy is broke down. Who else they got that's ex-WWE and expendable?

    Keith Lee?

    6.  The 6th one should be the Owen, or an all-women's PPV.

I'd love a little more structure/stakes for The Owen. Winners should be getting title matches.

In fact, I think a great idea would be to highlight that Owen was taken before he could win a world title and that, going forward, The Owen is going to be a tournament for people who have never been world champion. This is their way of sling-shotting themselves into a title match and the upper card pay windah.

  11. Are we willing things into existence for Dynamite/Rampage this week? I'm not after much: Just a Jayme Hayter match please.

I'll take a tag with Britt if I have to but Jayme just clubbering someone would be appreciated.

    Also more Danhausen.

My wife loves this guy. We got some new pillows (those kick ass memory cushion things) and when I told her they were "very nice" she said:

"Yes. Very nice... Very eeeevil... Pillowhausen."

    That's when I died.

  12. I'm still begging BCC to add a female member. Serena Deeb seems the obvious one but Shafir could use Regal or Bryan at ringside too.

Then you tie Ruby to Kingston and run Claudio/Deeb v Kingston/Soho...

Fuck this roster is insane with how many directions you can take things!

According to the match graphic, the entrants in the Royal Rampage are (left to right):

    1. Kazarian
    2. Silver
    3. Orange Cassidy
    4. Rush
    5. Hangman
    6. Takeshita
    7. Penta
    8. Hobbs
    9. Starks
    10. Keith Lee
    11. Swerve
    12. Darby
    13. Blader
    14. Dustin Rhodes
    15. Butcher
    16. Caster
    17. Nese
    18. Matt Hardy
    19. Dante
    20. Brody King

Although debuting a surprise entrant on a taped show is a bad idea, so no hassle.

So Keith Lee is gonna yeet Swerve into the 5th row here isn't he?

So Blood & Guts 2 is the second longest match in AEW history at 46:45 behind the 60 minute draw Adam Page vs. Bryan Danielson at AEW Winter is Coming Dynamite. Do you count the start of the match with Claudio Castagnoli and Sammy Guevara or when Submit or Surrender begins? I'd go 46:45 myself.

Does the Rumble timing start with entrant #1 or entrant #30?

46:45 is the number. Both matches on free TV.

Now the question is - Does AEW need to take a breathe and save more stuff for PPV or are we beyond that being a viable revenue stream and getting eyeballs on Dynamite is the bigger picture?

I like the idea of Royal Rampage but give Eddie Kingston the AEW World Championship proper, not the Interim light. Grand Slam 2022 would so be fitting. Eddie Kingston has to win the AEW World Championship at some point, he's had one of the best AEW runs ever and he's the heart of AEW.

The great part is; It works both ways.

You can get a huge pop for Eddie winning the title, only for Punk to return and call him a 'paper' champion. Then you get another huge pop if Eddie wins OR Punk goes over strong and Eddie's back to the self doubts of: "I still haven't really been champion".

Or Eddie still falls short (I kind of want to see him vs Claudio and vs Bryan over the next few months) and you keep the long term build going. Get Punk back, unify the title, defend against Hangman etc

There's so many paths/layers they can add here.

Where does MJF fit in all of this? Because Eddie winning the title, only to immediately lose it to MJF would be some nuclear fucking heat.

The Swerve and Lee story is so interesting. I would prefer to see them work things out, but I also kind of want to see them fight.

I'd like Swerve to say "Hey, let's have a match, get it out of your system Keith, and then we move back into climbing the tag ranks again."

Then they cut a promo and change the name of the team to the INFINITELY better:

    Strick-Lee Business*

They can start back at the bottom and build back up for a title match towards the end of the year, hopefully against "All the Titles" FTR.

*Bizniss? Biznitch? I'm not down on the cool kid lingo right now...

  17. Really loved the show overall. Everyone was over AF. Eddie vs Suzuki... my goodness.

Weird finish in the IWGP Title match. I rewatched the last couple of minutes a few times and couldn't see exactly where Cole got hurt. He seemed fine on the finishing sequence but bailed on taking the Rainmaker?

I think White and Cole can play it off as having an agreement to keep the title in the Undisputed Bullet Elite Club and you can have Cole keep nagging for a shot because Jay "owes me one".

Builds into the eventual BC v UE split.

Happy for Mox too. I think his comeback, as great as it's been, has actually been undersold. Dude was on the path to self destruction and has now established himself as AEW's go to guy.
