The play was only called back because a running back didn't set properly, not because it was against the rules. Former ref Mike Carey knew, but he's an analyst for CBS now. So many trick plays in so many games yesterday. The curmudgeon in me feels like this will work itself out in a few weeks and we'll get back to real football. The NFL is due for someone to pull a David Patten in a game (or an LDT/Walter Payton), no?

BJGE seems like a logical choice from the list of available free agents. They could also pluck someone off a practice squad too. Chris Rainey is available, but given his past issues and Carolina's current player issue with DV, doesn't seem too likely.

This list will get pared down to 25 in November, then to 15, and then the inductees get announced the day before the Super Bowl. Again, got this from PFT.

I am as well, considering the Steelers showed interest. But he'll get more opportunity to be the lead guy in Oakland that he would in Pittsburgh. McFadden is always dinged up, and their other 2 RBs are LaTavius Murray and Kory Sheets. MJD also grew up in Oakland, so maybe that also factored into his choice (along with money).

Vince Wilfork restructures his contract with the Patriots. New 3 yr deal for $22.5 mil. Final two years are team options. Only $3 mil is guaranteed for this season w/ the ability to earn up to $8 mil in playing time incentives. I'm glad to have him back in the fold and I am interested to see how he recovers from the Achilles tear.

Sounds like he noticed something odd and had it checked quickly. Hopefully he was able to catch it fast enough so it didn't spread and he can be on the road to kicking its ass very soon.

Geez and I thought it was because he threw almost 30 more INTs than TDs in his career. Namath has 37 more INTs than TDs in his career, and he's in the HOF because of a guaranteed win in Super Bowl III. If he's deserving, why not Stabler? Hell, why not Plunkett and he's got 2 rings. I think Namath is one of, if not THE most overrated player in Canton.
