  1. It also ignores that these guys were hired because they were big time fantasy players and know their stuff. We know the guy won big once but how many times did he lose to get to that is the question. A friend of mine posted the employee in question's finishing charts for the time. He was in the money nearly every time. And 0.3% is estimated in the low eight figures, fwiw.
  2. Sam Allardyce appointed at Sunderland. The world does have a sense of humor.
  3. Stunning, stunning win for the Rangers. Beating Price, on the road, without Hamels going? Enormous.
  4. John Lackey vs Jon Lester on Friday. Great, the fucking Red Sox win again.
  5. Sling apparently has TBS included, but I don't subscribe and am not sure. The game is also streaming through WatchTBS if you have a friend with a cable login.
  6. Yankees put two men on second base all night. Tanaka didn't pitch poorly, but when the team has ten and eight hitters set down in a row over the final 2/3 of the game...yeah.
  7. You say each of these like they are bad things.
  8. This is the stupidest OUTRAGE incident of the season, because I've seen three different hot takes coming from it - anti-fan, sexist, and anti-young fan. Here's an idea - get the sticks out of your ass and move along to an incident that's actually important.
  9. Northwestern pitches their first Big Ten shutout in 20 years. This defense is legit.
  10. FG bases it around the peripherals, BR bases it around the runs allowed.
  11. A friend of mine works in adops. I've blocked everything for years, just because I could. But talking more and more to her about sites survive based on advertising and how much money they're losing and how many will need to switch to a pay model...and well, considering how much my employer relies on ads...has resulted in me whitelisting plenty of sites I use a lot. (including DVDVR)
  12. There's only 30 of these jobs. He's failed twice. Might not get another chance again. Isn't getting any younger. Also, free money for the next four years.
  13. fwiw, this has been happening to me too on Chrome mobile for awhile now.
  14. NL Cy is anyone's best guess between those three. There really isn't a "wrong" choice.
  15. Getting back to the pitching inside thing, the Pirates loooooooooove to pitch inside...and they plunk a lot of batters as a result, which leads to their guys getting thrown at because of diamond justice, or whatever. Some of these managers need to learn that not every beaning is intentional, and sometimes, shit just kinda happens. Also, the Piscotty collision was terrifying. For now, it's just a facial contusion, but I wouldn't be shocked if he has a concussion and/or broken bones in his face.
  16. Remember before the season when the players voted Harper as "most overrated", and then he turned in a top 50 season in MLB history? that was fun
  17. You guys are legitimately helpful. Next round's on me!
  18. So..... ...what do y'all do when your NFL team is dogshit? Is there like, a support group or something?
  19. "You don't tell me what to do, but I want to tell the sports media industry what to do!"
  20. The New York Mets are NL East champions. No, seriously. It happened. The Mets.
  21. Funny, I was just thinking about this today. I was favoring Keuchel a few weeks ago, but Price has continued to put together great starts. Also, Chris Sale getting roughed up helps each of them too - hard to rationalize a vote for him now with the ERA climbing.
  22. He doesn't hit for power, which is a problem when you don't have the arm to play center. He doesn't walk much at all, meaning you're not getting much aside from those singles. He's a solid starting outfielder, but not a franchise guy. Poor man's Denard Span.
  23. Longest MLB streaks now are the Mariners (01), Marlins (03), and Astros (05). After Houston is the Mets (06). Parity is kinda cool, as is seeing markets like KC, Pittsburgh, and Toronto rabidly supporting their non-garbage teams
  24. If you're not a fucking asshole, they won't give a shit. I've had a whopping one incident in probably 80+ games at Citizens Bank Park, and that came courtesy of a drunk whose wife apologized for him afterwards. re: Wren. He's an abrasive personality. Given that Hazen and Dombrowski will be there to rein him in, he should be fine. He's tremendous at building a bullpen and bench.
