  1. The other part of that Variety article is a kinda, but not really spoiler for the season finale of Loki in that
  2. Re: the MCU article, I’d be fine with High Evolutionary being revealed as a Kang variant and recast Iwuji as Kang. I think their overall problem is the perfect storm of the pandemic hitting and delaying everything at a time when they were hitting a reset with new franchises for Phase IV, forcing them to go without the bigger franchises/interconnected stores for a while.
  3. Same. I’ve already got our tickets. This will be the first MCU movie my daughter gets to see in theaters, and she’s super excited after watching Ms. Marvel and then Captain Marvel.
  4. Halfway through, I realized the episode almost felt like a season finale.
  5. I didn’t like this week’s as much as this first two, but that’s probably due to less Loki/Mobius banter more than anything.
  6. Thoughts on Loki so far? It seems like it’s being set up for Loki and Sylvie’s arrogance in believing their way(s) is the best ends up leading to either He Who Remains returning or the Multiversal War. Sylvie arrogantly tried to punish Renslayer without realizing she has not just a temp pad, but Miss Minutes. On the other hand, it feels like Loki is making an obvious mistake in bringing Timely to the TVA, especially since he said the only thing he’s missing from achieving his visions is sufficient technology.
  7. I don’t know if this is intentional as part of what “time-slipping” will turn out to be, if it’s connected to the TVA, or just a continuity error, but it’s an interesting 1st for MCU time shenanigans that people who travel to the past are able to change their timeline’s future instead of it just creating a new variant branch.
  8. Disney+ finales always leave dangling threads setting up the next show or movie. It’s frustrating, but expected at this point. It kind of reminds me of when the WWE Network had their free preview months and the end of the PPVs in those months were always teasers/cliffhangers for Raw. I liked this season fine, but catching up on this thread, I’m surprised I’m in the minority in thinking that dickhead in Hera’s hearing was an obvious Imperial working to undermine the New Republic.
  9. I’ll be slightly amused/depressed when the Filoni movie “underperforms” at the box office because it’s going to be more niche than what people claim the MCU, but it’s going to be right up my alley so I can’t wait.
  10. I was tempted to drop it, but then I remembered I got it as part of my Verizon package and for some reason hadn’t switched over that, so I did.
  11. Rumor about Avengers: Secret Wars that should be taken with a grain of salt at this point, but spoilered just in case.
  12. My daughter is aging out of all the Disney Princess movies that made this such a steal in the first place, so I’ve actually considered dropping it.
  13. Forget about Secret Invasion, heeeeeeeere’s a Loki trailer!
  14. Based on Ghost’s DNA being in the mix, Fury’s been collecting samples and just dumping all of them in the same tiny bottle, and Gravik knows about it since he was sent to collect samples from post-Battle for Earth.
  15. I’m not sure if I’m annoyed by the senseless deaths that obviously won’t last, or appreciative of the if everyone knows they won’t last, we might as well go big mindset.
  16. I think this effectively sets up Cap:Brave New World and Thunderbolts more so than The Marvels. G’iah’s recruitment felt similar to Val’s recruitment of the various Thunderbolts.
  17. Yeah, I just went back and watched parts, and Fury was shown shooting someone with a tranq, but in an earlier scene they showed an agent lying flat on his back with what looks like a (shockingly small, tbf) wound/bullet hole in his chest.
  18. The more I think about it, the more stupid stuff I remember, like Fury and Sonia murdering a bunch of innocent secret service agents or the President effectively declaring war on New Asgard.
  19. She has all the powers, heroes and villains and cosmic demi-gods alike. There were a bunch of names flashing on the screen, but presumably that wasn’t intended to be an exclusive list. It’d be one thing if they had established super-Skrulls could only use one (or four, if you’d prefer) powers at a time, but they did not. This is first show I haven’t liked, and it’s because the writing is just completely wasting some good performances. I feel like this show leaves us back around Age of Ultron, except instead of being anti-superpowers, it’s anti-Skrulls.
  20. This show falling flat and failing to live up to its premise is pretty fitting homage to the Bendis series it’s based on.
  21. I agree, which is crazy because Gaia is now the most powerful being in the universe.
  22. I saw Barbie today, and it is legit one of my favorite movies ever. Low key one of my favorite moments was (spoilered for minor plot detail)
  23. I think this is the first show I’ve seen Kingsley Ben-Adir in anything, so it was a little weird seeing him as Ken in Barbie today.
  24. I forgot about my favorite thing about this last episode. Skrhodey tells Fury that he’ll have to kill him to out him, AND IN THE VERY NEXT SCENE Sonia just shoots a hidden Skrull in the hand to out him.
  25. I feel like that’s been the case for most of the MCU shows, and then they don’t actually wrap everything up because certain stuff ends up being left for other shows/movies or maybe gets a reference. I think my biggest problem with SI is that they have all these big moments but they don’t give them any time to breathe. Everett Ross is a Skrull! Never mentioned again. Maria Hill gets fridged, you at least get her mom (who we’ve never met before) reacting, but otherwise it’s barely even used as motivation for Fury, only as leverage against him. One of the Avengers is revealed as a Skrull and Fury keeps it to himself? Even though Fury is shown almost having a heart attack right after. Like that revelation should be be huge with massive repercussions! Talos dies and Fury just leaves him.
