  1. I was considering cancelling until they started uploading 1997 RAW, now I'm hooked.  That was always my favorite year for the WWE/WWF.  It felt so fresh, plus it still had remnants of traditional WWF.  It seemed to take all the good things about 90's WWF, up to that point, and then threw in a ton of interesting new things.

I'm up to the show after Cold Day in Hell, in May.  The Shamrock/Vader match from that show was incredible and felt very fresh, and I enjoyed it more than the Taker/Austin main event.  The latter bored me initially but I got into it more as it progressed.  I think on the go-home show for CDIH, the Undertaker seemed like a giant afterthought.  Now, apparently we're getting Faarooq/Taker at KOTR.  I think I'll skip that one.  On a final note, for the RAW show after CDIH, Vince stopped doing his elaborate, dramatic intros for guys he was interviewing.  The guys just sorta walked down to the ring and Vince said nothing.  I liked his throaty intros.

All I ever care about these days, for E3, is Nintendo.  Maybe we'll hear about the next console or something.

Eh, when they mentioned NX for the first time, they said "You'll hear more about it next year". So I wouldn't get your hopes up. This year will be all about Star Fox and mobile games for Nintendo, I think.

I'm not really getting my hopes up much.  I got tired of doing that after the Wii-U announcement back in 2011.

I feel kinda sorry for Luna, especially after having read her WON obit.  She dealt with insecurities regarding her looks and it all started with that gif, it seems.  She had to keep that look for the rest of her life.  Must have been rough.

Do you have a public link to this obit?

Not public but if you have a WON/F4W sub, the 9-6-10 Observer has the obit.

  5. Is it safe to complain here about some of these shitty new shows?  Over at the WWE Network subReddit, it's not.  Most of these new shows look like lame crap.  I guess I'm ok with a new Divas Search but some of those other new shows, like the Spring show or the Graves show, etc., don't appeal to me at all.

Honestly, I haven't even been watching the Network much these days, and I'm thinking of cancelling and coming back in the summer.  These new shows don't help me much in deciding not to cancel.  I do like the idea of 1000 more hours of VOD stuff though.  I think I was picturing this whole service being a little different than it actually has become.

Does it really help Reigns? He's still going to be resented unless you're just gonna put him in the midcard.

Who cares if he is resented?  They'll just turn him heel and suddenly he's a top heel who is over.  He is turning into another Cena, where he is getting booed by fans who think they're doing right and doing their part by booing.  As long as the fans who are booing don't tune out and stop buying stuff, Reigns will be fine.

He's nowhere near Cena was at this point in his push, though. Don't get it twisted, I like Roman, I think he's getting the raw end of some poor planning by WWE but for people to think they're just going to overcome it with pro rasslin' booking like it's 30 years ago, they're going to be sadly mistaken.

Well, yea, he isn't at Cena's point back in 05 but if the fans keep thinking they're doing some service by booing Reigns, they're wrong.  If the heel heat gets bigger, he'll be in a Cena-esque position.  The guy just really isn't a sympathetic figure.

  8. Overall, I thought Mania was solid but forgettable.  The most memorable stuff was the angles, not the matches.

The ladder match was good and action packed but nothing that put it over-the-top for me.  I'm glad Bryan won.

From what I saw of Rollins/Orton (took a bathroom break after the first match), it looked solid.  I dug the finish and they got me on the RKO false finish.

Sting/HHH was horribly disappointing.  Maybe I expected too much out of Sting.  I was left without a desire to see Sting wrestle again.  I do think he should have won.

Rusev/Cena was good and they both worked hard.  Rusev in a tank was fucking cool.  Lana throwing in her shoes was cool.  The match was pretty solid.

Bray/Taker was slow and not very good, IMO.  Taker can only do so much with Bray, and I did feel that if Taker were fighting someone better, the match would have been better.  Bray does absolutely nothing for me, especially in-ring.  I fail to see how this put over Bray at all.  A lot of people can get over despite a loss but I don't think he did.

I didn't see the divas match.

The main was stiff as shit and was good, thanks to Brock.  I still wasn't digging Reigns much here.  Out of all the finishes that I went through in my head, I never thought of Seth cashing in during the match.  Made complete sense and protected the shit out of Brock, and to an extent Reigns.  They'll have more time to figure out Reigns now, if they want to go heel with him or not.  I can't imagine he'll end up getting over as a babyface, in the next six months.  However, he'll be champ soon, I think.  This isn't a Lex Luger situation.

Ronda Rousey, The Rock, HHH, and Steph were fucking awesome.

  9. I put up a new Backlund match with a small retrospective on El Olympico in New York.

The main reason I wanted to post this reply was to ask you guys about my gifs.  Do you guys think I have too many gifs?  Is it slowing down or deterring anyone from visiting the blog?  I really enjoy putting up the gifs but I don't want to put up too many, if they are bothering anyone.
