Did I miss someone post this or? Either way terrible news. Interesting to see where it takes things if anywhere with the whole weight issue. EDIT won't let me link it for some reason but ONE FC fighter Yang Jian Bing passed away from complications with weight cutting.

Watching TUF 21 finally. There's some legit terrible refereeing decisions in this season. That and the whole points system seems fixed in a very reality show style drama bullshit. Think the best bit about the season is the passion involved with both teams actually getting into each fight. I like the team system more then the regular seasons.

Not attendance records but definitely a gate record. They were selling $4,000+ seats... Also got to meet Mark Hunt which was cool. Shorter then I thought he would be. And another thing that I thought might interest some is that the UFC already have promotional material up for Sage Northcutt in the Fan Village thing outside of the arena. Had quotes from him about dreaming of the UFC etc. Also the crowd had a lot of Irish fans in it for whatever that's worth.

The guy who did Dawg Fight must be pretty happy now I guess. That and I honestly don't understand how athletic commissions can allow almost all 4 of the guys to fight let alone Bellator booking the shit.

Didn't watch the presser because it was on very late stateside, but I did see the picture tweeted with Ronda signing stuff for kids. That got me thinking especially with what is happening recently with boxing in Australia. I don't know if someone already answered this (probably did), but is combat sports considered the boogeymen of sports in Australia or is that just the regulatory bodies fabricating some of this? Apparently there has been a "call" for a ban on boxing after the death of Davey Browne Jr., which followed the death of another Australian boxer fighting a Filipino fighter. I just find it a little weird that young Australian kids are skipping school to see Ronda Rousey when that same country is trying a ban a sport considered less barbaric than MMA. Anyway, here are the staredowns from the presser: Yeah the issue is though that boxing isn't much of a mainstream sport here. Like nobody except Danny Green, Anthony Mundine & Daniel Geale really get much in the way of TV time. Mayweather has been covered more as of late but I don't really see there being a big enough public outcry for them to actually ban anything.

Went to the 193 Press Conference today. Ronda is so over. Little kids and everything excited to see her. Had to leave early but they could've easily sold tickets to it instead of being free and done a decent number. Rondas been all over popular media/radio today and again tomorrow it seems from a few ads I've seen. They are actually selling 5k tickets with VIP options. Tickets in general are pretty expensive so it should be interesting to see how quickly they sell on Monday when they open to the public.

Ok being Australian I'll help those worrying about it selling well. Caged MMA has been banned in Melbourne and only just got lifted within the last 12 months. If your going to get 55k to any UFC show in the country here Melbourne is probably your best bet. Depending on stadium configuration you could almost see 60-70k with seating on the ground. People in Melbourne have been crazy for a card like this. Hell Adelaide did nearly 8k for a card with Hunt/Miocic being the only draw and Melbourne has 4 times the population. The title fight and Hunt will draw, Melbourne has a pretty solid Pacific Islander population which Hunt will do well with. Then there's Bisping. Australia has a massive rivalry in sport with England. It's why Bispings been out before. The title fight will draw more for the title rather then who's fighting especially since Lawler/Condit aren't stars to the casual audience plus neither are going to talk people into seats so it'll rely on Hunt/Bisping/Whittaker. That and it has pretty much no competition. Beside possibly A-League (soccer/football) there aren't any sport leagues competing during November here. They'll only do the 50k the first time though unless Ronda or GSP level fighters come out.

Did Toquinho hold on too long? I don't see any issue with him waiting for the ref to pull him off but I haven't seen it either.
