  1. Imagine if WWE had booked Goldberg like that when he was in a position to draw money for them.
  2. The Booker/Breezango segment reminded me of this:
  3. That's not even the year's best Kobashi match. This is: I'd go with Eddy/Brock as MOTY, though.
  4. On a lighter note, I just found the worst thing ever written, and now I want to share it with all of you. http://www.lennyletter.com/politics/a613/hillary-clinton-is-more-than-a-president/ Hillary Clinton is LIGHT ITSELF. Jesus Christ. This is worse than those alt-right clowns who call Trump their God Emperor.
  5. Speaking of Trump's Cabinet, he's filling his administration with Washington insiders and industry lobbyists. And John Bolton, a neocon's neocon, is being considered for Secretary of State. I wonder how many Trump voters who thought he was going to drain the swamp and keep us out of war realize they got played.
  6. Pretty amusing how quickly Clinton apologists have done a complete 180 from "Trump is unelectable" to "Trump was unbeatable."
  7. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/hillary-clinton-aides-loss-blame-231215 Jesus. These people are hopeless.
  8. I'm going to copy and paste what I wrote on Facebook because it pretty well sums up my thoughts on the election. Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party have no one to blame but themselves for this result. You can talk about the media and Russian hackers and the FBI all you want, but at the end of the day, excuses are just that: excuses. She was a terrible candidate who ran a terrible campaign. If someone repulses far more voters than she inspires, even if that repulsion is completely unwarranted, she's a bad candidate, and clearing the field for her in the primary was a huge mistake. The email thing may have been blown way out of proportion, but nobody put a gun to her head and forced her to disregard State Department policy by conducing business exclusively through a private server. It ended up being a big deal because it fed into the popular perception of her as someone who felt that rules everyone else had to abide by didn't apply to her. It was an unforgivable act of hubris that crippled her campaign. Speaking of her campaign, it's pretty clear that downplaying the issues, particularly economic ones, and emphasizing Trump's personal failings in an attempt to win over suburban Republicans was a fatal mistake. Was running up the score in California and narrowing the margin in Texas worth losing the Rust Belt over? And turning the election into a clash of personalities rather than a contest of ideas put the focus on her own ethics and judgment (like the aforementioned emails). Look at turnout, which is at its lowest level since 2004. For people who aren't committed partisans, frightening them into voting against the other guy isn't enough. You have to give them something positive to vote for, and Clinton failed to do that. If there is a silver lining to this election, it's that the Wall Street wing of the party has been completely discredited. Demographics haven't shifted enough to throw the white working class completely overboard, and it's hard to be a credible voice on lunch-pail issues while giving speeches to Goldman Sachs.
  9. Good thing we have the Electoral College to prevent a charismatic demagogue from seizing power.
  10. So how likely is it that the new interviewer chick will get saddled with a Maria-esque ditz gimmick after screwing up Ellsworth's name?
  11. I would trade Kane, Bray, and Orton to Raw. None of them deserve to be on Smackdown.
  12. The best of the Jumbo/Misawa six-mans, in my opinion. And Tim Cooke agrees.
  13. At this rate, Bayley will be dead in the water by the end of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent her back to NXT for repackaging after the Rumble.
  14. As much as this sucked, I'm not sure it would make a top ten list of worst sequences of the year for either guy.
  15. Another factor in the outcome of the main event: the show was in Boston. Never underestimate the importance of the hometown job. Regardless, hopefully it means the end of the feud and a Sasha heel turn or least a character revamp. Her current act as Eddie Guerrero's posthumously adopted daughter is pretty cringeworthy.
  16. There were way too many table spots on this PPV. The fundamental absurdity of taking five minutes to set up a table when you can just pin someone is bad enough when it happens once, but it's even more egregious when it happens over and over again. As for why Charlotte went over, my guess is that they're trying to build up the whole undefeated on PPV thing so it's a huge deal when Bayley beats her for the title at Wrestlemania. At least, that's what I hope it is.
  17. My MOTY is the Backlund/Patera Texas Death Match. Close behind is Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Dynamite Kid from 2/5, which is currently inexplicably not on Youtube. It is on Dailymotion and Ditch's website, though. Also worthy of consideration is Nick Bockwinkel vs. Billy Robinson from 12/11. Note that the Youtube version of that match is slightly clipped. The full match is on Ditch's website.
  18. I might've thought this if not for his t-shirt. On that note, if SKOL AXEL SKOL doesn't put the nail in the coffin of the [imperative verb] [wrestler's name] [imperative verb] meme, nothing will.
  19. It doesn't reflect well on the writers that they thought "I'll see you in hell" was such a good line they had to use it twice.
  20. See, people need to speak up. Rock/Jericho should not have made it this far.
  21. MIsawa/Kobashi may be the boring Meltzer-approved choice, but I'm hard-pressed to think of a match from that year that's unequivocally better. The finishing run is a bit excessive, but other than that, it's pretty close to perfect. I also have a soft spot for Ikeda/Otsuka. I'm not sure how great it is from a technical standpoint, but it's the kind of match that leaves an impression because there's nothing else quite like it.
  22. That's the problem. Rock's ability to get even the lamest material over has seemingly convinced Vince that every main event babyface has to be a shitty comedian. Imagine how much more over Roman would be right now if he had been cutting Goldberg promos this whole time instead of sufferin' succotash/magic beans/tater tots/etc.
