  1. Speaking of bumping, Kaitlyn might be the most insane bumper in the company right now.
  2. WWE had to rush the Cena match because when you're dealing with a guy like Brock Lesnar, whose passions seemingly change from one week to the next (WWE forever, then bored. NFL, then didn't want to waste time working at it. UFC, then gets bored and goes back to WWE), you hot-shot that angle/match right now for the pay-off rather than build it up for a couple months and it leads to...nothing because Brock suddenly decided he really wants to wrestle in the Olympics or something. There was no point in a slow-build for an angle around Lesnar when, at the time, it was unclear how passionate he was about returning to wrestling and if he'd stick with it for the long haul. So, why would you waste him against Kofi Kingston (Keeping in mind, he only has a small amount of limited matches for the year, why put him against Kofi "I Can Fly" Kingston?!) OR put him over your top guy when you're not sure how long you're gonna have him for! If you're that afraid Brock's going to flake on you, you probably shouldn't be paying him 5 million dollars.
  3. It has nothing to do with rooting interest. Booking 101 says that you don't build a guy up as an unstoppable monster and then have him lose his first match clean. If they didn't want Lesnar going over Cena, they should have had him spend the spring of 2012 running through the Kofi Kingstons of the world and saved the Cena match for Summerslam.
  4. If you think Cena beating Lesnar clean in Lesnar's first match was a satisfying payoff, I really don't know what to say.
  5. This is an important point that the Polyannas in this thread aren't addressing. How often does WWE provide storylines with a truly satisfying payoff? Why should we give them the benefit of the doubt when red flags start showing up?
  6. If the goal of tonight's episode was to make me hate everyone on the roster other than Cody Rhodes, it was a smashing success.
  7. Can we just ban all the gimmick posters? Seriously.
  8. Daniel Bryan's like a walking reset button. It doesn't matter if you botched someone's push, stick him with D-Bry and he's over again like magic.
  9. Did anybody else see that guy in the Destroyer mask in the front row?
  10. The best thing about the Big Show chants is that it'll force the creative team to come up with an explanation for why his contract wasn't really ironclad. I'm still not fully on board with what they're doing with Bryan. The problem is that he's playing with the hand that HHH deals him. He's not acting, he's reacting. He should be laying waste to Shield members backstage, not agreeing to gauntlet matches with them.
  11. Wait, is Vickie an authority figure on Smackdown now? When did this happen?
  12. If WWE really wants to troll indy fans, they should repackage Bo Dallas as That Young Knockout Kid.
  13. Man, Darren Young looks pissed in that first gif. Like Orton tried to sign him up for conversion therapy or something.
  14. Well, Foley got the belt basically as a lifetime achievement award, and I'd rather Bryan be worth more than that.
  15. I think we can all agree that somebody needs to get their fucking head kicked in next week.
  16. Well, you can't really run a Los Peleadores de Gallos gimmick these days.
  17. He didn't walk up to the Shield, they Pearl Harbored him after HHH called him out of hiding. If Bryan had jumped out of the crowd and tried to storm the ring leading to the Shield attack, I would have no complaints.
  18. Guys, for the 80th fucking time, the problem isn't that Bryan got laid out. It's that he looked hesitant to take the fight to the people who screwed him over. It's not unsalvageable by any means, but it's not a promising start.
  19. Bryan being overpowered and beaten is fine. Bryan looking like a chump is not. Again, go back to the opening segment. He talked a good game, but when Steph raised the stakes, he backed down. At the very least, he should have forced the security guys to take him out in handcuffs.
  20. Let me get this straight. When Steph tries to kick Bryan out of the building, he leaves without incident. Then, when he sneaks back in, he gets called out by HHH and walks right into an ambush? Yeah, I'm not 100% in love with how this is playing out so far. I wish more babyfaces were like CM Punk after a big loss: pissed off and ready to fight the world. I'm not a fan of him throwing elbows in brawls, though.
  21. Is this the return of the pants free thread?
