The Red Sox 2004 World Series video was set to the noted upbeat celebratory song “American Pie” by Don McLean

For when you need an 8 minute song about the day the music died for your celebration.

for those who didn't see it, just imagine the "On the streets, the children screamed" lyrics about the reactions to the death of Buddy Holly set to footage of the Red Sox 2004 World Series parade. It was a choice of song alright.

  2. Is it possible that territorial wrestling makes up an unusually high percentage of surviving local television programming from the 80s? Like there’s probably not a ton of midday local news from 1983 circulating online.

And if you remember the Tiger King documentary, there’s still a certain amount of local stuff that doesn’t get seen outside of a market. But not as much as years ago.

If I was a betting man - I would put money down on Skip Schumaker being the first manager fired

Not only are the Marlins 1-10 to start the season but the club has rescinded Schumaker's option for next year.

And now word is the club and manager have been at odds since the firing of Kim Ng since Schumaker wasn't happy about that

Tony Pena resigning suddenly as Royals manager during a bad season for reasons totally not related to a lawsuit about having an affair with a neighbor comes to mind as the ultimate midseason departure in baseball.

The funny thing about the Marlins whacking Skip quickly is that they built their opening day radio promos around name puns urging people to skip what they were doing to watch the Marlins on opening day

This made me think of Sam Elliot in Road House and I can get behind that

just listened to "Faster Horses" and realized I might have been describing Dustin Rhodes like the cowboy giving advice in that song

Saw the main event on Wednesday is going to be Joe vs. Dustin. LOL

Dustin’s AEW role appears to be “wise old man in the corner of a bar in a movie that occasionally uses his life experiences to help our heroes”

Which I guess also means Dustin is a bit occasional in regards to how much he’s on-screen. Sorta like he’s on the AEW version of a WWE legends deal only he works some matches and is veteran presence

If someone from the other company was going to magically appear, shouldn't it be Dustin?

who would be the most plausible fake Goldust on the current WWE  roster, Baron Corbin? someone who is both tall but also lanky

Roman was Taker's last Mania loss.

"Roman Reigns was the only person to defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania" - Michael Cole being told to write Brock Lesnar out of history

I guess Vince being a criminal degenerate saved us from Brock Lesnar running in for this main event
