the Pitbulls are probably forgotten in the realm of limited tag teams that ECW really made look like something special anyways, another criticism of Shane Douglas would be that a certain amount of his micwork really didn't age great (although some of it wouldn't get censored now, so..) -

MJF would be Shane Douglas if Shane didn't have reasons to be angry at people not working for his current promotion? At least that's a nicer comp than saying that MJF is if ECW made Jason the Sexiest Man Alive their World Champ. Now, if MJF was the abandoned son of Chris Candido and Tammy Sytch then.. -
various things you gotta love in this episode of Mid-South 1) the various fans clapping along to the Midnight Express' theme because they haven't cranked the heat up on the Express yet 2) how good Cornette is at throwing the tennis racket into the ring so early in his usage of the racket (a weapon that doubles as a way to try and fight off drunk cajuns until they gave him a bodyguard) 3) the Mid-South ringpost being made out of razors since every time someone gets rammed into it, blood must flow. 4) how Bill Watts is gonna acknowledge Krusher Darsow's new name long before he ever pronounces Duggan like everybody else. Also, Volkoff doesn't sing the actual Soviet anthem until the WWF. But nobody in Louisiana is gonna admit they know that 5) a Mid-South match where the purpose is to beat the hell out of your opponent with a football helmet between two dudes from a 1983 Mid-South wet dream 6) dumbass good Samaritan Terry Taylor leaning near the ropes to get popped by a football helmet

are you familiar with the 'spot' in Rocky II with Apollo in the corner and he almost invites Rocky in, and moves out of the corner to avoid the punch to show how fast he was? -
Important Announcements are a draw.

waiting for the ratings breakdown to be something where the 7:45-8 Central quarter beat the 8-8:15 quarter or something irrational like that

My perception that her family is barely keeping themselves out of jail isn't that inaccurate, right? But there's probably a certain amount of their BS that might play a different here compared to how it plays in the UK?

If they gave him a live mic in-between a mental health event and a sabbatical to do the "fire me you fucking mark" promo, that's a pretty irresponsible decision for the company to have made, right? I think that on-screen MJF kinda comes off like a dialed back wrestling version of Gamergate chuds.

Considering that Paige really got over because she wasn't one of the WWE Divas-era womens wrestlers, I guess there would be ways to be a heel that leans back into that era to counter all the current era womens wrestlers. Saraya probably has some unused British carnival tricks that she could use in a match to be even more old school. She has the advantage that she could rip off her mom (or other relatives) and not have it be obvious since most American fans haven't seen that stuff. Charlotte Flair doesn't have that sort of advantage going for her. If some other wrestlers did the "I'm working like a 2000s WWE Diva" heel act, I'd be concerned about the possibility that they'd accidentally get over as a face among the fans that miss that sort of thing. Saraya can probably avoid that.

The competing sources of audio does make it so that I didn't necessarily hear all of the MJF promo, which is probably for the best. I work off of the vibes of how cool or bad stuff looks. Also, I guess, in theory, there was an incentive for Big Bill/Moriarty to be facing the Acclaimed instead of being in the Tag Team battle royal? At the very least, they have to have some teams for next week's battle royal that weren't in this week's battle royal?

The latest peyote dream that somehow went to wrestling involved watching a WWF show that didn't have the original music overdubbed, and The One Man Gang was coming out to "Superfreak" by Rick James. -
We find out what the Red Sox clubhouse was concerned about on their way to last place
-
Also, with the way that the Saraya/Storm interactions with front row fans are going, they’re taking out a stunt granny within the next 2 weeks

at least Danielson learned from previous life experiences by not trying to choke MJF with his scarf

Fritz Von Erich voice ON There's a conspiracy against our Cowboys. The NFL knows if things were fair, the Cowboys would win every year. The NFL is just like Jimmy Carter when he decided to deny my boy Kerry a chance to win an Olympic Gold Medal when he boycotted the Olympics. I have Five Boys and all Five of them will be World Champions. Jerry Jones made the worst mistake of his life firing a great coach like Tom Landry. If he just hired the next Tom Landry, the Cowboys could overcome the conspiracy. Fritz Von Erich voice OFF

how much of the OC/Jarrett match would involve building to OC doing a OC-style Fargo Strut

I love the "undercover cops have to identify themselves"-esque logic being used by at least person responding to Dave asking "why would the Turner Network President lie about that" AEW should just use their number compared to the WWE Nielsen numbers to claim to be the #1 wrestling show on Cable, and then insist their claim is right because "Raw isn't a wrestling show"

Satnam put in some of his best work tonight. If Jim Cornette had a guy like that to help him during the scaffold match, Jim's knee wouldn't be fucked.
-
probably not the best day for SRS to try dropping more news though If MJF didn't do the "fire me, you mark" promo a few days after the Wardlow match. It would be easier to believe @John E. Dynamite's theory. "Okay, we'll cover for your mental health break, but you can shoot a promo before taking that break" is a stretch.

Jericho storylines make more sense if you think that Jericho books them like Jericho's actually the face.

"Hey, do we know anybody who could host our All-Access show?"
-
so, how mad is Jungle Boy that only two referees came out to stop Christian but 10 dudes in Staff shirts came out during MJF/Brian? As for the ratings, I miss when TV ratings had integrity, like how Raw divided the first and second hours and insisted they were different shows.

Moxley starts bleeding if he yawns too hard these days. Also, MJF's spraytan was a little distracting tonight.
