I have no idea what to make of Shape of Water. If that's what is considered Best Picture, that Alf TV movie from the 90s was robbed.

SpoilerHe beats the piss out of Black Panther in a fair fight, that he rightfully is entitled to, even with run ins for the baby face by the guy who killed his father.
He gets screwed over by the Black Panthers family, because they don't want to a) expose their technology to the rest of the world and b) risk innocent Wakandan lives, which leads to a Wakandan civil war, and eventually Wakandan tech being shared with the outside world.
Sure, mentally unstable and unfit to rule, but he won fair and square. #crookedTchalla

First two thirds as good as anything Marvel has done. The Bond film thirty years overdue, and in spirit, a worthy Batman film. 9/10
Last third was unnecessary, illogical, poorly written and downright baffling. Belongs in the heels totally justified in their actions discussion. 2/10

Someone will take him, league talent depth just isn't there not to, and chances are a struggling small franchise could do with the coverage. Will just mean the Lakers probably give him away for free, and probably pay his salary for a bit.
I just hope, from a cutting losses perspective, its not to a team with a crazy as fuck owner prepared to put a gun to Lavar Ball's head and threaten his life if he ever speaks out of turn, allowing his son to play relatively decent basketball distraction free.

I still think Lebron ends up at the Lakers, probably with Paul George, and in doing so, practically give Julius Randle away for free.
Whether or not they can offload Ball is another thing.

Arguably lucky against the Bucks last year before getting whomped in 4 games straight against the Cavs. Highly lucky against the Pacers, unimpressive against the Heat the year before closing out with 2 25+ pt losses to the Cavs.
For mine, they're not taking 2 games off either Cavs or Celtics, and I don't rate the Cavs at all.

Could you debut a character today that essentially does a Frank Castle/Martin Riggs gimmick, that's trying to kill himself in the ring?
Would the lack of kayfabe see people shit on an elaborate backstory of dead wife and kids, and instead of wanting the babyface to fight back and not take a beating, chant for him to kill himself (see Beefcake Raw promo from 93)?
Yes, practically, it's too close to Ambrose's thing, and suicide angles have never ever been done well, but wonder if it's a relatively effective way of establishing character motivation by establishing no motivation at all.
They always talk about doing relevant LGBTQ storylines and characters. How long before Stephanie is shown 13 Reasons Why, and you get something inspired from it?

Possibly the token "top babyface title run theyd never get in WWE" in TNA like Christian thrown in for good measure.
That would have been an awesome visual if you had Owen finally win the big match, the baby face locker room empties and celebrates with him, only for Bret to appear on the ramp, ala Mania 10, only to jump in and celebrate with him instead.
