  1. I'm not a fan of quoting myself but I just now got a key answer to what I was wondering earlier. NYT just said there were issues with the integrity of the ship and in particular the auxiliary machinery and a propulsion deficiency. So I'm sure it was an accident and feel for the ones on it. But yeah there's going to be lawsuits out the ass over this one.
  2. It's almost hard to fathom how much of a wide impact this is then you see that Biden is speaking about this along with the international coverage that was mentioned earlier. Damn. He also is saying the government is going to pay for the rebuild and relying on Congressional support. Without going into why I have my doubts but do appreciate the sentiment.
  3. I meant to say this last week but I'm really loving the changes in production they're doing on Raw. They're trying new things and from what I saw so far it's fucking great. I remember last week the had the camera follow Sami walking to the back and after he disappears they focus on another angle with Miz and R Truth. It was so awesome and man do I not miss dipshit Kevin Dunn.
  4. Thanks. I work from home a half hour from Baltimore so it's super rare for me to go anywhere near Baltimore. Even when I lived by Dundalk for a few years I went on the bridge maybe a couple times. But to say the least this is a major event that right now just feels very shocking. I have many questions and they don't really have lots of answers so I'm hoping they'll have more information on hand in the next update.
  5. I'm just gonna leave this here. https://shop.jazwares.com/pages/vault Basically the Jazwares Vault opens on the 27th and the reason for the link is that's when they'll have the sweet-ass ROH figs that I'll be getting a solid 80% of (I don't need a ROH Kenny or Danhausen) But sign me the fuck up for the Danielson and Briscoes figures among others and say goodbye to my wallet. Also, if you grew up on LJN figures you might want to pay attention to what Myers and Cardona are doing. They have their own figure line and while I didn't grow up on LJN the Macho and Andre ones here fucking rule. https://www.majorbendies.com/collections/big-rubber-guys
  6. I spent tons of time staying the night at a friend's house while we tried to figure out how to do more than punch and kick on Nitro. When we pulled off a suplex it was like we won the title with how excited we were. Then I somehow got it on PC and while noticeably faster it was still a shit game. Despite that I still have fond memories and might one day try Nitro again for giggles. EDIT: Just saw the guide and forgot how complicated some of the moves were to do. Yeah, fuck that I'm good.
  7. I thought it was a bit too convenient that somebody had a Bruins jersey right near somebody with a Leafs jersey (well, the Leafs one is completely logical but I digress) But whether they were plants or not I laughed at that and enjoyed the hockey elements. But aside from that I was oddly bored by the I Quit match and I'm not sure if it isn't just a "me" problem. Did I expect lots of blood? Did I expect Christian to make Adam's situation much more dire? Or maybe I was just looking for more overall hatred in the match and things felt a bit too scripted for my liking. Maybe all of the above (though the first possible reason might have depended on WBD's stance on blood nowadays) But something just felt off since the build was pretty damn solid.
  8. You might say the rankings were worthless and I wouldn't necessarily argue. But for me it was worth it mainly for this:
  9. Cody had a fire promo last night but the one last week was great as it gave Rock something to mock and in turn led to what Cody did last night. Things just feel right with the buildup to the two nights of Cody/Bloodline and Seth aside this is going to be a fun one to watch. I just hope we're past the point of staff giving out signs for the fans as with the Cody love there's no real need for that anymore.
  10. So now that I'm not on my phone but on a computer I might as well say a few things. I'll quickly say I didn't care for Joe/Wardlow and the Jericho tag. The Wardlow stuff is way too late and while I don't hate the guy there's just nothing that will make me care about what he says or does. I hope to be proven wrong one day. And the best part of the tag was how incredible GoA looked. They need to get some big wins. That aside the show fucking ruled. Sorry Curt but I love the CEO theme and so did Bo$$ton. Everything about Mercedes screams big-time star and if you're going to build the women's division of the future around somebody then why not her. I wasn't sure about heel Okada with the Bucks but holy fuck he absolutely completes them. If you didn't like Bucks themselves acting high and mighty here comes a legend and suave-ass motherfucker to give them tons of credibility. Plus he was wonderful throughout the match and it's all to setup him again Kingston. Jeeeeeeeezus. I want to be apathetic to what Ospreay does for various reasons yet it's impossible for me to with a promo like that. Nothing and everything made sense at the same time and I was fired up for the Danielson match once it finished. Though if he was pissing blood from his head then he might wanna get that checked. I'm eagerly anticipating Matt's writeup on Jay/Darby but this was by far Jay's best match in AEW. It might not have been a PPV epic but if you had one match to watch of Jay White this is it. He transitioned from trying to be a face because of BBCG to just shedding all that and going back to the heelish form he always should be. Darby was the perfect opponent for this as he bumped around like mad and had a fucked up back on top of that. The missed coffin on the apron might not be a top 10 "Dude, WTF?" type bump from him but factoring in the back it's pretty close to it. It all just fucking worked so well and is one I'll be rewatching for sure. Willow/Riho was good but it was all a means to get to the post-match. I'm glad Mercedes isn't starting right away with Toni and is instead in the Willow/Julia/Skye sphere. That'll be a great for her to get back into the groove and get her ready for the big stuff to come. One thing that I want to make sure is to not take what we are getting for granted. We're getting big-time stars coming in to mix it up with other big-time stars and we all will rejoice. This is fucking awesome times, folks.
  11. Given how time passes I'm liking that there's that much of the cast either doing the same roles or taking of different ones. I can't imagine a completely different cast trying this but hope the new folks do good enough with it.
  12. Now that's some true friendship. Love it. So much to ponder over and maybe discuss but that show motherfucking ruled.
  13. The "wackiest" I encountered so far is Miz drafting the champion right as the championship match starts which immediately stops it after Regal read the paperwork. Other than that it feels almost realistic which I kind of like. I did like the idea of last year's where a guy on his way up gets fired and has to go back to indies but I didn't get far enough to see it pay off. I do find that as long as I'm largely caught up on wrestling shows it's great to play this and have Apple Music in the background. It's great for checking out recommendations so I'm not completely clueless on what's going on with music I like.
  14. I'm legit surprised there were Danielson AEW matches you didn't like. I'm not a fan of Cage so I remember that not being that interesting. As for Mox if it's the PPV match they had I remember liking that unless there was another I'm blanking on. I don't remember the others that much. Also, if we're talking dream Daneilson matches I'm still here waiting on a one-on-one match against Orange and especially Angelico. Both would be fucking fantastic and would make for incredible random matches to put on Collision.
  15. For a more annoying effect it should zoom out on Okada's pose and zoom back in during Penta's for like three minutes straight.
  16. ROH in general as a glorified Dark with ROH vibes works quite fine for me. From what I remember before tuning out of Sinclair ROH they had a kind of similar style to the shows so it doesn't feel like that much of a leap to me. I think what they're still recovering from is Jay Briscoe passing away as he was ROH through and through. In an alternate timeline him and Mark would be champs and we wouldn't have Mark trying to find his groove in AEW. As for things that AEW could control while I love Kingston as Continental champ the ROH champ is barely if ever on TV and TK had to assure the press that he Eddie would be defending at the PPV. It's not the best look and they really could use a champ that's on ROH TV often to drive the show along. And now that I think about it same goes for the tag and 6-man champs which are being used as props for stuff on AEW TV. Unless they have those champs pulling double duty (hopefully with more pay as a result) something will need to be considered for the long term.
  17. If it was anybody but Pat McAfee he might have had a talking to when it comes to going "Hey, who's that guy?" But honestly it took me a sec to recognize Buddy as I've been so used to him not smiling. I need to see gauntlet but the rest of Raw was pretty solid.
  18. I stopped using Twitter though haven't fully deleted it due to the rare time I'm curious what Mustafa Ali has to say. I have Bluesky when it was through invite codes but don't use it since I just don't do social media anymore. Only things I use are here and Discord and that's more than enough for me. I don't think it's due to being older but just being wiser about the shit that's done online and me wanting no part of many things.
  19. He was on ROH TV supporting Ethan Page who's on a quest to win the TV title though I haven't seen him the past couple weeks.
  20. Like Ramo I got the super deluxe pack and got most things unlocked from the start. Only thing to unlock were the WM arenas from Showcase Mode so to breeze through it I changed the difficulty and sliders then put it back to normal once done. I saw some wrestlers where still hidden in MyFaction but unless there's a list I'm not seeing much urge to do much with the mode. I did go in and got old school Sheamus and might dabble in it some but we'll see.
  21. I tried some of that last year but figure if I'm going to kill some time then might as well try MyRise instead of MyFaction. For one it doesn't involve microtransactions and it does unlock some random stuff I might not need. But it's fine. Plus this year's MyRise sounds a bit more interesting than last year. Also from the sounds of it I'm glad I don't have to do the random bullshit in Showcase just to progress through the matches. As long as I unlock the stuff then I'm cool without having to see every cutscene.
  22. I spent the weekend feeling that I would indeed cry watching the main. Over the weekend I saw clips of him from '97, a good hour+ of the compilation that AEW put up and even tried to see how to sneak a few tears in last night without anybody noticing. But an odd thing happened. While watching it with friends I had such an insane amount of fun that it almost felt I was a kid again. Well, minus the booze part but anyway. The video and entrance felt epic and I'm always gonna pop for "Seek and Destroy" which I played Saturday not realizing it would be used. The match was wonderfully chaotic and Sting gave everything he had on his way out. Darby's glass bump was gnarly with the blood and made me feel like I was watching an out-of-control deathmatch. But in the end the good guys prevailed and it led to a unique battle of retiring legend vs PPV time remaining which he unfortunately lost to. But man that main was a fucking blast and I can't wait to watch it again with my wife. Also, something that jumped out when watching his start in AEW was how obviously perfect it was for them to team up. Nothing was really said or needed to be said for a long time but you could tell from the start how much this meant to Darby. The bond they formed feels oddly wholesome to me and I'd like to think it will make Darby a much better wrestler and dare I say maybe a better person. I'll admit that might sound like a stretch but I'm feeling really optimistic about things overall. Rest of the show I was in and out on because I was playing party host but Christian/Garcia was fucking wonderful from what I saw. I made it a point to catch what I could of Danielson/Kingston. The little things they were doing went over their heads but I was super into it. The all star match should have just been a meaty 4-way (yes, I know what I typed and regret nothing) as the additions of Dante, Jericho, Hook and Magnus made no sense at all. Especially when they tried the Meat spots that were accomplished earlier by others and they got no reaction. It could have been awesome but was a waste and poor Dante was not having a good night. Strong/Cassidy seemed to be a great match, FTR/Mox and Claudio was the same as previous and kind of pointless and the women's match needs tons more Mariah May for reasons I don't need to say. Oh, and I missed lots of Ospreay/Takeshita but the ending stretch was fantastic. And yeah Matt would so hate this.
  23. I felt they were hinting at it when he did some kind of unpure tactics that they mentioned on commentary.
