  1. Oh shit, that started... Uh, I mean, yeah, definitely not the target audience *whistles*
  2. Ah, then, yeah, it's one of those two. With a big assist from Miller, of course, who codified the whole Batman universe for decades to come.
  3. He was kind of a crazy killer way back in his earliest appearances in the golden age, but, yeah, either Laughing Fish or The Joker's Five Way Revenge is where it came back and kept building to where he is now. I'd actually argue that's been in a way necessary though, given where they have gone with Batman. If Bats is gonna be that dark, and be that competent, then Joker has to be that evil, and that much of a force of nature. Of course, one can debate whether or not Batman needs to be so dark and godlike.
  4. DC has had this weird (presumably Geoff Johns led) feel over the last decade of moving more and more towards "the status quo of the 70's with new levels of limb removal never before seen in mainstream superhero comics."
  5. JDR was the only thing overcoming my massive hatred of the concept of undoing the legacy heroes and moving them back to an alternate earth and making them young and all that. It (along with all the Wally West stuff I oft rant about) gutted my very favorite thing about comic books.
  6. And yet the Bucks want to interview him...
  7. May have spoken too soon on Transformers, actually. It had a monster day Friday, and should go above 100 million after all.
  8. I stopped reading it when JDR left, honestly.
  9. Hell, I kinda think Haslem might be retiring and moving up the ranks of the Miami Mafia.
  10. Oh god yes. Actually, that also would belong in a crying thread if it didn't have that "most embarrassing" requirement.
  11. We all know that nothing is worse than grading a draft the day after it happened, but dammit, I cannot stop reading those low hanging fruit articles that do just that every year.
  12. So, Transformers did 8.75 yesterday. In the same ballpark as Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: DOFP, and Godzilla. All of which opened around 90 million bucks. Which is to say, this is probably going to open right around 90 million. And if the summer so far is any indication, end up somewhere around 200 million for the purposes of this game, and 225-250 or so total. Less if it ends up more like Spidey and the Big G than Cap and the X-Men. This summer looks highly likely to lack any major, major breakout hits.
  13. Thing is, there is always a massive pool of qualified (and overqualified) black actors for a role, because of how few roles they get. Marvel would almost have to be trying to cast Luke Cage poorly.
  14. You know, Cabaret was already my favorite musical BEFORE Lebouf got arrested in between acts at a performance of it.
  15. I guess actually "alternate" is the more proper phrasing. Anyway, yeah, you've been warned:
  16. The end of First Blood.
  17. If that gets you, DO NOT WATCH the extended version of the scene.
  18. I honestly think Page might be the most underrated wrestler from the entire 96-01 U.S. boom period. Guy went about 4 years without having a single bad match.
  19. I don't really recall them actually having many (if any) tag matches during that time (although I'm old and forgetful) but the interactions were amazingly brilliant.
  20. Eddy/Tajiri was pretty short-lived, but god damn was the feud with TWGTT amazing. Some of the best matches of the previous decade.
  21. They did definitely have a couple tv or ppv matches with the Rednecks. I remember one of them being really good. But, again, one team has Eddy. The other loses.
  22. The problem for Rose/Somers is that the other team had Vader on it.
