    2014 G1 Climax

Did the match feature any wakigatames? If so, you're biased! Ha, it did not! It also didn't feature Kawada's theme playing at any point during the match. Though I'm probably still a bit biased because Shibata's one of my all time favorites and I got the result I wanted AND it was a really fucking good match on my birthday.
  2. I hated everything on this show except for the tag title match. I'm glad next month is my last month with the WWE Network.

Shibata and Nakamura might be my new MOTY. That was everything I loved about 2004 New Japan from two of the guys responsible for me loving Japanese wrestling to begin with.

That new trophy looks rad and if you look reeeaaaaal close, you can see the old G1 logo at the top. Awesome.

According to enuhito, Honma is the replacement after all.

Ibushi's out of the G1 due to the concussion he suffered against KUSHIDA.
  7. G1 is being offered on UStream after all. $110 for the full package or the shows can be purchased individually.
  8. Muto is insane. I thought this was already established.
  9. There's some pissed off dudes over that match. Daichi wasn't going to come in on his debut and look convincing against Fujita. Anyone expecting him to was setting themselves up for a colossal disappointment.
  10. Is there any update on the New Japan iPPV situation or are we still in the dark on that whole thing?
  11. Watched Wolves vs. Junior Stars from the Wrestle-1 show. Good match, pretty much exactly like I expected it to go.

Haterz gonna hate.I like KUSHIDA well enough but that is truly an absurd statement. You can say Ibushi's a better in-ring performer than KUSHIDA, I wouldn't say calling KUSHIDA a better wrestler is an "absurd statement". KUSHIDA trained with Takada, I'm willing to bet you whatever you like in a wrestling match that KUSHIDA would hand Ibushi his head.
  13. Yeah, I don't see round 5 for Machida. I had all but round 4 for Weidman. Helluva fight.
  14. Or, the two teams could just have a good fucking match like they're more than capable of doing.
  15. Agreed on both counts. I liked the main event until they decided to work the leg for a minute and then all of a sudden it was okay a minute after that. That kind of shit wasn't anywhere near as commonplace in ROH main events until the Danielson/Nigel era ended.

Just noticed the lineups were out in full. The card with Okada/AJ, Shibata/Nakamura and Ibushi/Tanahashi is on my birthday. They better allow individual iPPV purchases this year instead of making my poor white boy ass buy all 12 shows.
  17. I bought the show and enjoyed it a lot. My biggest gripe was in the main event, Elgin's leg was so damaged he couldn't run but thirty seconds later he can do three powerbombs, but that's the indies.

I'd believe it. I think KENTA probably would have challenged Nakamura for the IC Title by now, as well.

    * Also announced was a new partnership with Jeff Jarrett’s upstart Global Force Wrestling and that 5 ROH stars will work the final day of the G1 tour at the Seibu Dome (for which ticket sales are going well): Bobby Fish, Adam Cole, Michael Bennett, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish and Maria Kanellis. reDRagon in New Japan? Fuck yes please. Looking at the blocks, this year we're getting Shibata vs. Ishii III, Shibata vs. Tanahashi Shibata vs. Nakamura, Shibata vs. Nagata, Shibata vs. Ibushi, Nakamura vs. Ibushi II, AJ vs. Naito, AJ vs. Goto and Ishii vs. Ibushi. My goodness.
  20. It's so surreal that it's been five years already, I remember that day almost perfectly. This was one of the sadder wrestling deaths I can recall. If it wasn't for Misawa, a lot of matches that I really love wouldn't even exist. Now I'm gonna go blast "Spartan X" on my iPod and watch the main event of the first Zero1 show.
  21. Man, Tadao Yasuda really let himself go didn't he
  22. That's all I've been hearing about since the guy made his debut 3 years ago. "I like the guy so I want him to be with the only Japanese wrestling promotion that I like." which has mostly been New Japan. He's not that good yet to even keep up with the top New Japan guys and with 3 years experience he would be at the bottom for a long time anyway which takes away from his appeal. Obviously the guy made the best decision he could make but because it's Antonio Inoki and IGF is not a liked promotion it's going to be looked down upon. How about not making assumptions the next time you want to quote me? I actually like Inoki and IGF. I'd rather Daichi works for a promotion that regularly runs shows and he has the chance to improve.
  23. Probably. I really wanted to see him head to New Japan, though.
