  1. Since we're talking Jericho/Takayama (and I'm sad this won't happen again this year) and here's him and Punk
  2. So what did everyone think of the main? I watched it with the sound off and it looked solid.
  3. The image of John Cusack in battle armor screams parody to me. Poor Jackie.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6fyb8vW6Y8 Here is your new Eli Roth Joint.
  5. Finally caught up with all of you and saw Whiplash on TV earlier... man, J.K. Simmons is good at playing sociopaths. Every time he would do something even moderately nice the internal red flag would go up and I would think "IT'S A TRAP!" Which of course it was, every time. I also have a weird theory about this:
  6. Judging from the last episode, the FX budget they have should remain covering fake blood spray and nothing else
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT43MuPgxo8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cjaIp6W8Ok https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqG9xBq2KSg This is on my external hard drive for some reason. I don't remember anything about it other than it's these two doing what they do. You probably won't make it past the first file.
  8. Gonna be short and simple with this one. It's gonna be grumpy cause this was a pretty poopy episode. Well that could have been better. Oh well.
  9. Me and some friends of mine watched Vigilante the first time I saw it and we didn't really know what was coming when that "central act of violence" occurred. It was a total "OH, SHIT!" moment collectively. If you really want to know what that is and haven't seen it: Also, Joe Spinell would be imposing next to just about anybody.
  10. Pissed that I missed it at the Art Theater when it showed last week
  11. I too was thrown off by the timeline because they said this was supposed to be set in the '80s, then Bolo Ray uses the term "kicks" and pulls out a digital recorder. I think it's pretty clear that the Vinci PD is corrupt (Bolo Ray says "Do you want me to work this one or not?" in the trailer for the next episode, plus the talk about everything in the town being entwined) so I can see him getting away with the beating.
  12. Maybe the corpse being nude would help? I have to say I got a big charge out of the bully comeuppance, especially with the build through the whole episode. You just knew that kid was in trouble from the second he asked if he didn't have to go to school again. Hell, just looking at him, I knew what was coming. "12 years old...? FUCK YOU."
  13. Farrell had that dumbass astronaut line, but he also said "I'll come back and buttfuck your dad with mom's headless corpse," which makes me laugh just typing that out. The full line was "I'll come back and buttfuck your dad with you mom's decapitated head on the lawn in front of me", I believe. Which is better.
  14. This was posted on the Botchamania Facebook and was Buddy's poem to JYD when he passed. I'm gonna spoiler it because the shit hurts. I don't even think I've seen a match with Landell -- all I remember is the Bill and Buddy Show and Flair cutting him down on a DVD once -- but so what. RIP.
  15. I can't recall him being in any early Abel Ferrara movies...
  16. Okay, head shot with a crowbar then. Or THE MEEIST, TONY!
  17. I'm partial to Tiger Army (which goes against hardcore psychobilly protocol I guess. they're jealous of/disgusted by Nick 13's Davey Havoc-ness while I could care less). Their second album, II: Power of Moonlight is my favorite. They slowed down and got depressive on the next album and have since had a kind of psychobilly mixed with the Cure thing going on, but those first two are good and fast. Nekromantix and Mad Sin are pretty good too, but I'm honestly not a big psychobilly guy. I'd rather just listen to the Stray Cats. Also there's a lot of good country-punk type bands with standup bass: Highlonesome, S.S. Web, .357 String Band, etc.
  18. Vaughn was doing his best to either whisper or speak very low in this episode.
  19. Apparently Fridays are gonna have a double (or maybe it was single) Creature Feature at night now too btw. Looks like they're showing Fright Night again.
  20. Since we were talking about it before, Dracula Has Risen From The Grave is on TCM right now (Prince was right before; HORROR EXPRESS~ is after) and it's a blast. Really fun, cheeky characters, gorgeous women, a cool beer hall scene with absurd drinking game, and the Count dies a seriously awesome death, maybe the best in the series.
  21. Well Ballers was pretty Entourage. Rocky might be able to hold it together with his skills though. Definitely no Arliss.
  22. Yeah that was pretty good. At least Jack Black has a character that's MEANT to be irritating.
  23. HOW DID NONE OF YOU RECOGNIZE THAT THE ENTIRE SEMYON PLOT IN THIS EPISODE IS STOLEN FROM THE LAST GOOD FRIDAY. Jeez, guys. Otherwise, I don't really have any complaints, I'm willing to work with it, let it develop to whatever crass or pretentious or maybe actually good result(s) that occur. And working all these disparate characters (which really did feel like a mouthful) into an ensemble cast that interacts was cool.
  24. Did I mention that Woody Strode is a badass aging prisoner in Vigilante as well? Because there's that, too.
