  1. This will probably be how everyone here will feel after The Summerslam
  2. Aaaaaaaaand now I have TWO reasons to be pissed that I don't get STARZ anymore either. GODDAMMIT GODDAMMIT

I haven't seen many Okada matches but him trying to import the structure I've seen him have, where he always does the same moves in the same rotation until Rainmaker (see: Hart, Bret) will stink it up. But as Oyaji says, as long as the kid gets his dick left in the dirt a couple times, I'm good.
  4. Can he legally advertise himself as Brodus Clay?
  5. Finally caught The Duellists again and bah gawd is it amazing. Harvey Keitel is a man obsessed, haunting poor Keith Carradine like a ghost through multiple wars, insisting on death duels over something that would be like stepping on someone's shoe in a bar today. Keitel can't let it go and they meet each other in these great chance encounters at random -- at a bar on leave, in the middle of the freezing fucking Russian wasteland -- and have it out with heavy sabre, on horseback, with pistols... it's intense. The denouement is perfect, especially And Diana Quick is fucking gorgeous. REALLY good looking here. Wow. My only complaint is that Carradine couldn't even try and evoke an accent for his character.
  6. There is a three part (think about that) match with Otto Wanz on Youtube but I am not evil enough to post that here. EDIT: Maybe it's because I just watched Straight Outta Compton but I thought Rocky was about to bust out a Crip walk there. And man it is weird seeing the Nasty Boys thinner and wearing those black jackets. Or whatever they are.

I really don't think Tenryu in a singles match for his FINAL match is a good idea at all but hey, his idea. He was surprisingly spry in that last tag that showed up online but him trying to do some kind of... uh... any kind of match with Okada of all people... I don't even know how they'll work it.
  8. Japanese efficiency reigns supreme. I was gonna mention The Old Dark House but looking it up again (still never seen it), I thought "horror comedy" was maybe a little less on-the-head than "meta".
  9. Okay, now that I'm home from work, I looked it up and this is what happened in the Flair/Sting match. http://www.sescoops.com/ric-flair-suffers-broken-bursa-sac-during-match-against-sting/
  10. Sorry for the giant size, but Kamala's coming at you
  11. I'll start watching when my net time flips over. I will definitely buy the comp either way though.
  12. I thought Flair burst his bursar (?) sack on the superplex.
  13. They were surprisingly nice with Heller considering how much he raped all of their pocketbooks. Giamatti was excellent in the role and got some good laughs as the straight man.

Wait... what? Tenryu is facing Okada on his retirement tour? Exqueeze me? Baking powder?
  15. Well, that too. He comes off less likable the further into the books he puts out. Jericho, that is
  16. Yes indeed. I was just about to ask why these stopped for so long. For what it's worth, I'm down with any wrestler who was named after Tom Araya from Slayer in real life. She has a killer submission, too. Very hurty.
  17. GODDAMMIT QUIT REMINDING ME OF REASONS I STILL NEED TO WATCH HBO
  18. I'm pissed that I don't get HBO anymore now, just because of Show Me A Hero (and their documentaries, natch).
  19. Straight Outta Compton was damn good. The resemblance of Cube's kid to his dad is un-fucking-canny, and he sure can act. The MVP of the film is the guy who played Eazy, though. Of course they left out all that stuff about, you know, Dre beating up women, but that was to be expected. Packed theater of teenagers so lots of laughs. That opening scene though! Shit was intense. For those who haven't seen it I have one word: "batter-ram". EDIT: After re-reading some of your comments about it, I agree with the second half being mostly Dre/Cube; they don't even play a single song from Eazy's solo records. Them giving so much attention to "No Vaseline" was hilarious though. I'm sure most of the kids in the crowd hadn't even heard it before so their awe was palpable. Something I want to know, did Cube really bust up the Priority dude's office with a bat? Speaking of which, here is Cube fact-checking the film: http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/aug/13/straight-outta-compton-film-ice-cube
  20. The mask thing is so awesome. It's something you would expect out of Mexico.
  21. There's a thread for him below which I think only I posted on, but hey there's one match on there.
  22. Death Touch Thursday is Vengeance and Vengeance Is A Golden Blade (is that not thee best fucking title of all times or what?!).
  23. I dunno, the draw didn't work for me. I wanted the proverbial five more minutes, or for them to at least brawl afterwards. Not that it isn't an amazing match, of course. Both of you guys should get the '80s lucha set and delve into some really interesting stuff. And supremebve, I can recommend some BattlARTS that certainly belonged on a Meltzer list but didn't even make a blip on his radar. In '92 he was probably willing to look into RINGS but there's a lot of BattlARTS that smokes that or even primo UWF/UWFi.
  24. If the weegies are cool with playing the Misfits on their radios, I'm cool with them. 74 days until I sing in Teenage Martians again...
