I'm at the point where I think you don't make any effort to stay up, finance wise. Go up, don't spend much, see how you do then if you go back down you have approx £100 million extra cash (1 season up and parachute payments) which you should then be able to dominate that division and go back up with much more chance of survival. Of course nobody will do this because if that's your plan either the manager gets fired (Billy Davies) or the manager and best players leave at the end of the season(Blackpool).

Yay for getting BT sports through no effort of my own. Watched PSG vs Ajaccio earlier, what a fun match. Finishes 1 - 1 after PSG outshot their opponants 34 - 1. Was funny to watch them time and time again be thwarted by Ochoa in goal (he seems really good though). Cavani eventually scored in like the 89th minute. Lots of fun. Watched Dortmond really struggle earlier as well. Good to have football back.

We've been playing the Cthulu version of Flux recently as well as Lords of Waterdeep and Phantom League. Flux is fun, a little chaotic but I'm not a huge fan of it as the entire point of the game (that the rules can change at any time, victory conditions as well) means it's hard to have any kind of planning. Phantom League is like the board game version of Elite (space trading, privateering etc) and if you have folks willing to be aggressive it's lots of fun, if not then everybody just trades and you end up with a 4 hour game with nobody really winning. Lords of Waterdeep is so much fun though, definitely my favourite game atm. Lots of tactics, bluffing, planning and reaction. No dice as well for those who are completely anti luck in a game. You should all play this. Actually no dice in any of these (still luck though depending on cards drawn) I bought ticket to Ride on steam as well, it's still fun in single player but I've not had a chance to play it online yet.

Well holy crap, what a race that was. Alan Olivera breaking the world record (his won) by 0.2 of a second, crazy. My fave parts of the olympics were definitely the 45 minutes of pure gold at the athletics but after that my favourite thing might have been the mixed disabilty relay swimming races at the paralympics which were crazy in working out who was ahead and were so much fun.

I hate Valve. Already picked up Deus Ex, Puzzle quest 2 (which is great fun), Dishonoured, Orcs Must Die 2 and Heroes VI. Now trying to work out whether to get FM2013 and Fallen Enchantress.

The problem with admitting it is you can end up like Dwain Chambers who admitted everything he did, went around schools giving talks on it etc....and got blacklisted from every diamond league and high level event available. Whereas you can get caught multiple times, like Justin Gatlin, deny everything and then every body gives you more and more chances. I see Bradley Wiggins around a bit (he lives like 2 miles from me) and I don't have much trouble believing he's clean.

Well I've been pretty happy with Leeds transfers so far this summer. Also Cavani went for some serious cash (£55m) which kinda suggests Ibra will be on the move shortly
