  2. Bryce is getting local love down here in the Raleigh area. People near Charlotte say that he's brought some of the buzz back when Cam first started blowing up. Apparently, he's already giving presentations to the offensive line:

Wofford College, Spartanburg, one night early in Panthers’ training camp, offensive players and coaches in a meeting room, a vital two hours for a new coaching staff and an offense with potentially new players at every skill position. “Pizza and Protections,” it’s called, with a stack of hot pizzas on hand to make it a relaxed setting. How will this offensive line block regular and “exotic” fronts, and what terminology will be used to call it in the huddle? New coaches from different systems— head coach Frank Reich, line coach James Campen, QB coach Josh McCown, coordinator Thomas Brown—have to agree on the details and verbiage and adopt them. Important night.

Before the meeting, Campen and McCown approached Reich. “Coach,” McCown said, “do you mind if Bryce facilitates? He wants to do it.”

Bryce Young, the rookie quarterback, 22 years old, wanted to run the meeting with 35 players and nine coaches. Reich was stunned to hear this. But he figured, Why not? This guy is more advanced than any rookie I’ve coached.

    “How’d he do?” I asked.

“Phenomenal. Flawless. Flawless. He knew everything,” Reich said. “It was a pretty amazing night.”

  3. Rend build worked a lot better for me until I got past 50 because rage is so much harder to get than in 3. But if you insist on WW, getting a +2 to WW on your gloves is a must have. Rubies in your armor, skulls in your jewelry and +life in your helm, chest, and boots will help the game feel a lot better.

Gambling has gotten me quite a few decent legendaries so don’t forget that when you are behind in a piece of gear.

  4.

I'm level 49 with my Barb and have switched to just picking up side quests, but actually working towards completing the game.

I'll say this - this is probably the best Diablo story they've ever told. At this point for where I'm at, which is right at the start of act 4, I'm impressed at how much ambiguity there is to what Lilith is actually up to. There are moments where she's in this Thanos type of space where, hey, you have a good idea, but you're just an asshole. Other times she's straight up villainous. And not to spoil anything, but...

Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto being on the side of not really liking Lilith just adds to the mystery of what Lilith is actually up to.

Not to mention that Inarius is a real dick and doesn't seem like he can be trusted.

Something else that stands out is that it really feels like they're totally ignoring or even retconning anything from Diablo 3, which is probably for the best I suppose.

I'm just looking forward to finishing this campaign and playing on Nightmare. At some point my friends and I are going to give Hardcore mode a go, but with the caveat that we're only doing it once.

I could already be in Torment but I'm not interested in rushing things. I'm interested in how you guys view the story after you've finished. I think that the entirety of Act 6 is going to have a huge, HUGE impact on the world of Sanctuary. Lilith at the end does make a very good point and I wonder how you all will view the epilogue.

I am far too addicted to Diablo 4. It's so freaking good. It took them long enough, but it seems like they figured out from their time of owning Bungie to looking at what Lost Ark and Path of Exile were doing for how to make a Diablo 4 live service game.

One thing I really like is that you're always vulnerable from the start to just about the end game. Potion management is a must. In Diablo 3 I could basically sleepwalk my way through the entire game. It was just way too easy. Now though, even on the second difficulty level, there are fights that are really tough and I'm relying on the dodge button a lot.

The one thing I don't like is that for whatever reason, it's the only PC game I own and play that makes my PC sound like a vacuum cleaner. Hopefully future patches optimize how it's using resources, but my god, the heat on my CPU and GPU ramp way up while playing it. It hasn't caused a hard shutdown or anything, but I wind up playing D4 with the door to my PC open just to get a ton of ventilation in there. I have one large fan in the back of the case, 2 on top, 2 in the front, and an aftermarket cooler on my CPU. It's really making me consider getting an all in one water cooling kit.

I struggled a bit with my enjoyment of D4 because I kept trying to play it like it was D3. Once I took a bit of time to think about my itemization and build with my barb plus a few lucky drops, it's gotten a lot more fun. I just hit 50 but I'm still in Act 5 so I'm going to try to blaze through the rest of story tonight The paragon system looks promising and I'm looking forward to it. Kinda wish I could have gotten to glyphs before they were nerfed so hard but such is being an adult.

Hey, if you're on the east coast of the US, the air quality absolutely sucks right now because of the Canadian wildfires. Like, even down here in South Carolina we're pushing an orange air quality alert. If you don't have to go out, don't. If you have to go out, get a good mask on.

Are we talking about wearing our covid masks or something more specific for smoke?

  7. I got a promotion at my job. So I was focused on that and less on Destiny. I just a couple days ago did the mission where Amanda died. I think it would probably hit you guys harder since I been playing since Forsaken and she never did much until now. You guys have a lot more history with her. Still sad though.

I am unclear when I got decent at Iron Banner but I went from having like a 0.7 k/d to a 1.7 this week. I must have been playing less skilled players. I am better but not that much better.

  8. I am doing the legendary campaign and I am also probably slower than you guys. I am at quest 4 when I get home. I managed to beat my first tormentor without dying by playing the world's longest game of hide and seek. At first I thought he was immune to special and heavy ammo but I was shooting at the wrong place.

Witherhord is god tier. Strand feels like it's in the way. Also not going to mention how many times I ran to escape mission 3 instead of driving.

  9. I took a break from Destiny for the past few weeks so I wouldn't be burnout on the game. I am happy launch day is in a couple of days but I am going to dodge spoilers all day until I get home. Basically don't go to reddit, Twitter, or YT and I should be fine. Or I could just be magically sick that day.
