  1. was watching some late-era WCW the other day, and there was an arm wrestling challenge. now, the participants don't matter, but the result was garbage. Has an arm wrestling match in pro wrestling EVER been good? I feel like they're nearer to a contract signing, which is always just a waste of time.
  2. best to worst: DD s1 Luke Cage Defenders DD s2 Jessica Jones Iron Fist
  3. i've been trying to figure out what the best/worst finish for this fight would be (specifically to me, as a viewer). your post is basically the same i came up with (albeit with a superkick instead of the shining wizard). great minds think alike.
  4. about 80 hours in. just finished the last divine beast, and up to 87 shrines. planning on hitting 100 then taking on Ganon. this is legitimately one of my favorite games of all time. top 5 for sure, i'm thinking #3 but we will see what i think after i've completed it.
  5. personally, i am so goddamn sick of people asking me about this fight. i look forward to it being over and all the casuals complain about it for a day and forget about boxing/mma again.
  6. they did?!? amazing news if true. Southpaw is my favorite thing from wrestling of the last 10 years or so
  7. take it from someone who is currently watching WCW from that era in real time. i would put Bash at the Beach 2000 as a turning point. Russo is still involved (not sure to what extent) but is not really on camera much. The matches on Nitro actually get a bit more time, most of them end at least semi-cleanly, and it is a much more enjoyable show. now, fair warning, i'm only 3-4 weeks past BATB, and i'm watching in real time, so it may go downhill again fast, but as of now (just watched the 7/31/00 Nitro this week) the shows are of a much higher quality.
  8. not really a boxing fan, but i got thinking... has any boxer had significant success with switching stances? it seems like so much is made of orthodox/southpaw, but i've never really heard of a switch boxer. is it just something that's not done, or is it more common and i have just missed it?
  9. Yeah, all Cyborg all the time on the WFW Title show. I think Woodley has the advantage, and will do whatever he can to land shots and avoid the ground like the plague. that being said, Maia does have a real chance if he can get Woodley down early. But i think Woodley takes this and then angles for one of those 'big money' fights he's always going on about. super excited for Lawler/Cerrone, If Lawler pressures, he can win early. If he hangs back for a bit and lets Cerrone get into a rhythm, it will be much closer but i still think Lawler gets the W. Lawler is just so goddamn good when it comes down to brawling and boxing. as for the prelims, looking forward to Barao vs Sterling. Good test to measure where both of these guys are at in their careers. How does Sterling come back from back-to-back split decision losses against a former top dog? How will Barao look fighting at the lower weight this time?
  10. guess I'm the only one rooting for jones. can't stand DC and look forward to jones regaining his crown on the lhw division
  11. fuck outta here with that. Mir hasn't had a win in two years. and who's clamoring for a Fedor/Mir fight? Mousasi is 9-3 in the UFC. He fought four times last year and three in 2015. His only losses came to Lyoto Machida (very close decision), Uriah Hall (who he later beat), and Jacare Souza (has he ever not been in the top 5?) He's a former DREAM and StrikeForce champion. He's won five straight with four finishes. Is the UFC going to live? of course. that doesn't mean they need to be ok with losing multiple top-5 ranked guys.
  12. you're right. all the fighters are replaceable and nobody's a draw. if losing rory, bader, mousasi, and how many others doesn't matter, then who does? only the top guy in each division? "oh, let's bend over backwards for GSP and let Conor do whatever the fuck he wants" that'll show the other 400 fighters we employ that they all are second rate at best.
  13. losing Mousasi is a big blow to the UFC. that dude has tons of talent, was on a good streak against top guys, and is safe for social media.
  14. when you look at former PRIDE champions in the UFC, the numbers also line up: 3- Dan Henderson 2- Takanori Gomi, Big Nog 1- Wanderlei Silva
  15. it may have been 15 minutes they cut, but no way does a midcard match go that long. 8-9 mins, tops. even that probably includes entrances
  16. does PFL feel like a completely new and separate company, or does it feel like the "same old" WSOF with a name change? haven't had a chance to catch the show yet.
  17. anthem bought global force just so that billy corgan couldn't attempt and fail to buy it first
  18. the fight. Yamasaki should've stopped the fight the second that Lee even attempted a choke. we don't want people getting hurt or anything, do we? ok, just adding levity.
