  1. I signed up for an account on New Japan World since the first two nights are free to watch. Finished the prelim tags on Night 1 so far and they were fun. My favorite of those was the Bushi/Naito/Shingo vs Yoshi-Hashi/Ishii/Goto match. I’m going to pick up at the Tanahashi vs Henare match later on. I’m enjoying this so far!
  2. Update: I won two bucks! Lol ? So I cashed out and bought myself two bottles of Sunkist orange since the liquor store had them at a buck each.
  3. I like Jack Encarnacao but I can’t stand the Lapsed Fan podcast. Too long and bloated with unnecessary crap. Anyway, RE Hogan at Mania IV … I figured the Hogan/Andre match was in the middle of the show with that finish to play into the story of him eventually helping Savage win the title. Plus Hogan and Andre had just headlined Main Event on NBC about 8 weeks or so prior to set the whole tournament into motion, so I’m guessing that’s the (storyline) reason?
  4. One of my best friends is proposing to his girlfriend tomorrow and even though I can’t make it to what he’s planning due to other stuff I’ve got to do, I’ll get pictures from some other friends who are there. Because of that, I just ran to the liquor store and bought some lottery tickets for the Mega Millions draw tonight. I don’t normally play the lottery but I got a good feeling about it!
  5. I watched a bit more of it and I gave up. Too slow for my tastes and my ADHD brain! With Big Brother being back on now, something had to go, so Old Man got the axe from my rotation. Nearly done with Moon Knight. Watched episode 5 and … well … that was a hell of a trip! Next up for me in terms of Disney+ shows will be Obi-Wan. This past weekend, I finally finished off the most recent Bob’s Burgers season as well. Kinda had to since the movie is now on Hulu!
  6. Finished watching Dynamite earlier today, some quick thoughts: * Cassidy and Wardlow just didn't click for me. Maybe is was Cassidy's unorthodox-ness against Wardlow's monster-ness? The chainsaw bit and the thing with Danhausen was kinda funny though. * Loved Jericho's promo and Kingston's rebuttal. Their match next week is going to be all kinds of violent and I'm super excited for it! * Moxley and Takeshita was everything I expected it to be. A straight up fight. The German suplex on the apron was nuts. * Christian's heel promos are better than MJF's. I always thought MJF relied too much on cheap heat and rambled on for too long. Christian gets the point across and has his dinosaur monster destroy dudes. Also, evil Luchasaurus has a great entrance! * Hager and Claudio was fine. Didn't blow me away but it was a good match. * Deeb and Anna Jay was a good match as well. I'm intrigued by where this thing with Tay Conti goes. Do we eventually get evil Tay-Jay? * Main event was really fun. I was thinking the Bucks would retain because they only won the belts a month ago but I'm fine with Swerve and Keith Lee having the tag titles. They can have bang up matches with pretty much any team and since the Bucks didn't take the fall, they've got the standard "we lost the belts but were never pinned" gripe. Overall, a fun episode of Dynamite. Some good to great matches. Only thing I didn't like was that there was hardly any mention of the ROH PPV except in passing by Daniel Garcia and them running down the matches. I figured with Dynamite being the most viewed show that they'd do some advancement of the big angles, unless they're slowing turning Rampage into the ROH show (which I could potentially see).
  7. Me too. But I guess he didn't want to stay in Calgary. I read that Calgary offered him a better contract but ultimately he went with Columbus. The Jackets could be a playoff contender next season with him, Patrick Laine and Boone Jenner. Not sure what their goalie situation is like though. Even though they're the closest NHL in proximity to me (90 minutes away), I don't really keep up with them. Side note: I totally forgot free agency started and when I checked NHL.com this morning I was like ... holy crap! A couple signings that I found interesting: * Claude Giroux to Ottawa ... No offense to the Sens but I thought I they were still rebuilding and not a good team? Did they become good recently? * Darcy Kuemper to the Capitals ... seems weird for the #1 goalie for the team who just won the Stanley Cup to bolt for a different team. I'm happy to see that Evander Kane re-signed with Edmonton. The Oilers came so close this year, really hoping they can get back there next season.
  8. I’m totally watching Dark tonight then. I wanted to see the Rosa/Yamashita match and it’s pretty cool that they’re airing that on Dark.
  9. Gresham vs Takeshita on the PPV maybe?
  10. Y’all have NO IDEA how excited I am for this! I’m hopping (literally hopping…since I’ve only got one leg) up and down with excitement!
  11. I’m thinking the same thing. If they can’t get on TV, then probably the next best bet would Thursday on YouTube or replacing one of the Dark shows. I still say dropping Elevation is the best way to go. Film “Dark” before Dynamite and do ROH tapings at Universal to start with and plug it in to the Elevation slot.
  12. This is totally off topic but ... I've been on a classic UFC binge recently (as in the SEG-era UFC) and I remember there being a podcast series a while back where Jack Encarnacao was reviewing 10 events at a time with special guests on each episode. I know it was on Sherdog but I'm wanting to go back and listen to them as I watch these old shows to help fill in some of the gaps. I found the page for them on Sherdog but the links are disabled now. Does anyone else remember these? If so, does anyone know where/if I can find them to listen to? Or are they just lost to time now? (EDIT: They were called "Rewind: Look Back" ... I think) PS: Mods ... if this isn't the right place for this post, please feel free to move it to where it needs to be.
  13. Full All-Star rosters have been released. I’ll admit I was only curious about who would be the representative for the Reds (spoiler: it’s not who I thought it would be) https://www.mlb.com/news/2022-mlb-all-star-pitchers-reserves-complete-rosters
  14. Not sure where to put this so I'll drop it here ... Just wanted to say how much I appreciate this community! I've felt super accepted and supported since I joined here! Even though I haven't been posting a lot recently due to being busy with work and other stuff, I'll still log on and check to see what everyone is talking about. I've learned a bunch about stuff and also found some cool stuff on YouTube to check out thanks to those threads. Anyway, just wanted to end the weekend on a high note and say I appreciate the heck out of everyone here and thank you for letting me be a part of your community!
  15. Oooh! Thanks for this! I completely forgot about Pro Wrestling TV. Looks like they've got some good stuff up there I'll have to check out!
  16. Agreed. That and Perfect/Blazer are probably the two best undercard matches on the show.
  17. Is it bad that I read this and immediately thought of the Tony D'Angelo in NXT?
  18. That's about the only way the Reds can win a game this year!
  19. Booker T, TLC So I guess that would be a Booker T-L-C match? Only one problem though ... I can't climb a ladder with one leg!
  20. The only of the early Mania shows I have in my bottom five is WrestleMania 5. I watched it recently and it’s such a slog to get though and there’s a lot of matches that really don’t mean anything or have bad finishes. The crowd was awful throughout it too and seemed bored. Also didn’t help that they used the same “WrestleMania IV” banners and ring apron from the previous year with the “I” in IV blacked out with sharpie. On that show, Warrior vs Rude was good but nowhere near as great as their rematch at SummerSlam that year would be. Hogan vs Savage was probably the best match of the show honestly.
  21. I'm with you on this! I think there's several entertaining matches on the show. The NY portion is boring as hell but once they switch over to Chicago then things start to pick up a bit. The battle royal is fun and that Dream Team/Bulldogs match is incredible. Too bad the camera missed Dynamite's bump though. One match from that show I always feel doesn't get a lot of respect is Ricky Steamboat vs. Hercules. It's honestly the best match of the LA portion and could very well be the second best match on the show. The three city thing was unique though and I credit them for trying it. Definitely made the event feel a lot more special.
  22. With the matches they announced yesterday and then FTR challenging the Briscoes out of nowhere, I'm definitely ordering this PPV. Still kinda hoping they'll stream it on Honor Club as well but guessing that might be a no go if it's on BR Live.
  23. Looking forward to it! The NXT special episodes usually deliver. I think Lee vs. Trick could be a show-stealer.
  24. Since there was some talk earlier about mid-year stuff, here's what I've got on my list so far for best matches. Keep in mind, this is all based on what I've watched. These are listed in no particular order ... WWE: Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes (Hell in a Cell) Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair (WrestleMania Night 1) Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes (WrestleMania Night 1) Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Asuka (Hell in a Cell) Bron Breakker vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Dolph Ziggler (NXT Roadblock 3/8) Impact: Josh Alexander vs. Tomohiro Ishii (Under Siege) Jake Something vs. Trey Miguel (Sacrifice) Alex Shelley vs. Jay White (Sacrifice) Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Trey Miguel (Against All Odds) Trey Miguel vs. Steve Maclin (Hard to Kill) AEW/ROH: The Briscoes vs. FTR (ROH Supercard of Honor) CM Punk vs. MJF (Revolution) Hangman Page vs. Adam Cole (Revolution) Blackpool Combat Club vs. Jericho Appreciation Society - Anarchy in the Arena (Double or Nothing) Will Ospreay vs. Dax Harwood (Dynamite: Road Rager 6/15)
