Not really, no. There was some confusion and a lot of chatter about where the series could go from that point, but I don't remember any outright hatred for how it ended.

We had a pretty healthy thread for BE on the previous board. I love it and absolutely would put it on that top tier... the acting is top notch and the history porn is glorious.

It kind of sucked on Dish. They're not carrying the overflow games, even though they were essentially free to air, so no flipping around. One game in the morning, one in the afternoon and no rebroadcasts. Is the crowd at Sellhurst Park always so mental? Their fans were a big reason why I wanted them stay up back in 2005. They really feel more like a Bundesliga crowd between the tifo displays and the tannoy's call-and-response gimmick when someone scores for them ("Glenn!" "MURRAY!" "Glenn! "MURRAY!")... a really fun atmosphere.

And the Muta match is why Hakushi's covered in blood here, IIRC. Muta "killed" him, and he was resurrected to face Taker. I know Pete had one of the magazines where Shinzaki went to that really big cemetery in Queens to bury his Hakushi gimmick. I forget if it was after the Muta match or the Taker match. After the Muta match because that was the "death" of Hakushi. I so wish I kept that mag because it also had a photo of Shinzaki with Vince signing his release form and rocking a perfect "the shit I gotta do" face for the cameras. That Hakushi/Muta match really was insane. Muta using Hakushi's blood to paint the kanji for "death" on his gimmick as the crowd loses their collective shit and the announcer screams "DEAAAAATH!"
