  1. I was switching between an English and a German broadcast of Utd. vs Bayern. Stayed with the Germans up until 30 mins in, it said Bayern had 7 shots while having 4 shots on target. Now the brits are talking at halftime and claim Bayern had 12 shots while only 1 on target. Where did the 3 other shots go? Are there different rules to what is on target in the respective countries? Questions like those keep me up at night!
  2. Champion´s League is heating up as well, very strong quarterfinals. Today´s got United vs Bayern and Barca v Atletico.
  3. Shite like that happens in football, but I like how none of the Chelsea players were offering consolation, which would have been the usual way to deal with that kind of stuff... Would like to add a low-quality-video of what might be the German goal of the season by Braunschweig´s Kumbela, scored last tuesday.
  4. This Euro League thing is incredibly stupid. I love how they act as if it was about giving "smaller" countries a chance when it´s more likely to turn out as some ridiculous way to keep a status quo and make it easier for the big countries to qualify.
  5. Germany´s darkest footie power might be at its alltime height, Bayern beat Hertha to retain the Bundesliga championship with...7 games to go. Not gonna lie, this season was so boring. There might be a chance of Bayern slacking off a little and maybe dropping a point or two while concentrating on European competition, but it´s not that likely this season. Never thought I´d say that, but for some tense competition I´d better be off to Spain I guess.
  6. Could of course happen, but yeeeeeahhhh...
  7. FTFY Wanted to state that at first, but wasn´t sure because I don´t know enough about some of the European leagues like Ligue 1 or the Icelandic Pepsideild to be sure of that statement. ;D
  8. Dante isn´t as strong as he was last season, still the Bayern Center Backs are strong and pretty fast. It´s kind of hard to talk down the Bayern squad right now, they are really really hard to beat and immensly strong in every position. The biggest weakpoint in any Bundesliga squad are the wingbacks. The whole league might have three good (meaning good in CL competititon) wingbacks, Alaba and Schmelzer (when he is at a 100 %) on the left and Lahm on the right. Bayern has two of those, as soon as one is injured they loose a lot of class, as simple as that.
  9. What if Hogan´s actually did / he would have been out the same way Rocky was after his initial 4-year-run on top of WWF? Honestly asking myself if Warrior´s big title run would have come earlier or if someone totally different would have had a long run at the top.
  10. Our Spaniard has to be happy about that. What is it with German teams getting trashed by bigger teams over the last few years? Outside of Bayern (and very recently Dortmund)
  11. It´s fifth division. Plus I assume he will get subbed on for 20 minutes or something and will be fine.
  12. There is a fair amount of examples of clubs suffering from making it to Europe. The Bundesliga has one almost every year. Current example: This season all 3 Euroleauge teams in Germany are battling relegation.
  13. My big problem is that I haven´t seen the PPV and only read stuff how things went down, from reading this here sounded right: It sounded as if Cole - the guy who was originally all over how Bryan is a minor league player and shouldn´t even be in WWE - was ranting how Bryan got betrayed yet again and how this was a travesty. They are doing all they can to try and keep Bryan strong and everything is still set up for him to be wwe´s top babyface. In a perfect world he wraps up his business at Mania, defeats Batista at Extreme Rules (is it even in is home town? Read something like that) and after that has his first major feud with Bray Wyatt, who could win his feud with Cena roughly the same time as Bryan finally wins the title (which he actually already won btw). Generally the last 8-9 months they have done with Bryan Danielson a whole lot more than everyone - even the biggest optimist - would have ever hoped for. I wouldn´t say all of the CM-Punk-push was intentional initionally, but when they went and gave win the "win it (nearly) all for two years"-treatment, his act became stale and almost unbearable really fast. Granted, this could very easily be because Punk comes across kind of dickish here and there, but he was really hot when he went for Cena at Money in the Bank 2011 and they took from August to December (I think) for him to overcome the odds, get back his title and then keep on winning for over a year - with lots of us complaining back then, again, granted! The big problem all of us have - and here I agree with many of you bitching and moaning - is that we simply can´t see them really pulling the trigger at some point. All I´m saying though, and I honestly do think so, is that if they did, that could be an amazing example of getting a long term story out of a title chase in times where a belt is somewhat of a hot potatoe and creating real suspense within all of their fanbase, whether it is among the die hards who flood the message boards or the casuals - whoever those are supposed to be.
  14. Özil´s general idea was the right one, going down the middle. Should have taken a power shot though. Talking about power shot...never leave Toni Kroos open within 25 yards of your goal.
  15. You should really choose your words more carefully. Goldust wasn't gay, he was "Bizarre". You got it wrong... Cesaro in the chamber is a nice little surprise. Hope the year of paying dues is over now. No idea about the Punk deal, seems legit right now, but maybe they are just trying to recreate that 2011-gimmick.
  16. Former Germany international Thomas Hitzlsperger (31 / 52 caps) came out today. Oh, us Germans always following the trends the US set. Hitzlsperger played for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga and I think for a couple of BPL/EPL clubs aswell - was it Villa and West Ham? Anyway, the move gets major positive reactions, which is good atm I guees. Let´s hope for a future where sexual orientation doensn´t matter in sports.
  17. While I thought that the first Hobbit movie sucked majorly, the last third (roughly) of this was some of most painful to watch stuff I have endured. I loved the book, and I even liked the LOTR-movies. But this stuff was face-palm-material through and through for me. Bridging to the LOTR-movies my ass. If they want to bridge over to that stuff, how come Gandalf has to ask Saruman about Sauron in the movies when he already knows Sauron is back? Bridge burnt. Third movie only when it´s on TV, no more money for that crap.
  18. Bayern with a huge move getting Robert Lewandowski to sign what appears to be a 5-year-deal. Really bad for Dortmund. Hopefully they will be able to find a good replacement. The guys they have on their roster aren´t even close to being your striker of choice in any Bundesliga squad, let alone close to Lewandowski´s level. Even if he would just be sitting on the Bayern-bench, him being gone would just serve really well weakening the Dortmund side over the next few years.
  19. Wow, the refs in three out of four German games were soooo atrocious. 1. Bayern vs City has three offside goals and one ridiculous penalty. 2. Schalke gets some great help against Basel: No sending off for Höwedes, sending off for Basel player in a comparable but not as clear situation, second goal for Schalke scored from an incredibly clear offside position 3. Dortmund conceeds an comparably clear offside-equaliser, gets denied a very clear penalty appeal, on the other hand Marseille has to deal with a really harsh sentoff. Were the performances in other games as bad?
  20. That referee in the Bayern vs Man City game has had three major calls he blew in atrocious fashion...horrible stuff. Edit: Fourth bad call. At least it´s 2 - 2 on goals that shouldn´t have counted now...
  21. I really don´t know about this group. Looks manageable, only because I consider Germany very strong. But it might be toughest possible scenario, aside from maybe getting Italy instead of Portugal.
  22. Netherlands in POT 4 aswell as Italy make hardly any sense to me. With the FIFA Rankings obviously being the base for the seeds in pot 1, what is the base for the other pots? EDIT: The confeds of course, but why would France be in #2.
  23. Too lazy and involved with other things, therefore I just used the drawing simulator: A: Brazil, Australia, Nigeria, Russia B: Argentina, USA, Ivory Coast, Bosnia-Herzegovina C: Uruguay, Korea Republic, France, Italy D: Switzerland, Japan, Chile, Portugal E: Germany, Mexico, Ecuador, England F: Colombia, Iran, Ghana, Netherlands G: Spain, Costa Rica, Cameroon, Croatia H: Belgium, Honduras, Algeria, Greece Seems plausible, ridiculously unbalanced as draws always are...
  24. Only partly watched Germany vs England. Germany looked mostly in control, but wasted so many good chances. England fought like madmen, but didn´t look good creating chances at all. One good longshot from Townsend. Good for us that our set pieces finally seem to be somewhat threatening.
