  1. It's not that in this case, though: the certificate is still valid until March 18, 2024, and was renewed as recently as December 19.
  2. There's an error which suggests that even though users are (rightly) being forced to https, the site is located at http: Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'pushState' on 'History': A history state object with URL 'http://deathvalleydriver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9741-cant-move-pages-backforward/page/2/' cannot be created in a document with origin 'https://deathvalleydriver.com' and URL 'https://deathvalleydriver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9741-cant-move-pages-backforward/page/3/#comments'. The first step in troubleshooting is to navigate to the part of the server where the site is (presumably public_html/forum or something like that) and see what value base_url has in the file conf_global.php. If it's http, then add the missing s to the end and save. (It might be that the display goes weird, losing all formatting as a result. If that happens, you'll need to clear the cache by logging into your admin panel and then Support > Get Support > Clear System Caches.)
  3. No, it's a WYSIWYG editor. BB Code is deprecated in these new versions. (Some of it still works but it's more or less been phased out.) It's not present on my editor and neither should it be. That button's for trusted groups because it allows the user to enter HTML and PHP, which might be malicious. It's controlled by the setting "Can post HTML?" under Members > Groups > (pencil icon for relevant group) in the Control Panel.
  4. The usual way is to click the share icon in the top right corner of each post, which will produce a popup with share buttons and a link on it.
  5. Yep, it's a core feature. If it's not present in every post, how would you expect to quote it? The + is a separate feature called Multiquote. Click the icon on the various posts that you wish to have in your response, then click on the "Close x posts" button which appears, and the relevant posts will appear inside quote boxes within the editor. Another new feature is the ability to mention people. Type @ and then start typing the username. When the one you want appears in the popup, click the name and it will appear formatted like this ( @RIPPA ) and the person will get a notification to say that "X mentioned you in Y".
  6. It won't be coming back. It was removed with version 4.1 and replaced with activity streams instead. These are configurable, though, so you can replicate the View New Content if you wish to. Here's a video which explains how to do it. If it doesn't seem to work here, it might be because the video relates to things introduced in version 4.1.9 of the software, which was released yesterday, so it might be that the DVDVR update took place a little bit too soon to have these new features:
  7. @RIPPA: You need to get rid of that, mate! If that button is there, then it means that people can enter code, which is putting your site at massive risk. I can't see it on my toolbar, which suggests that it's not something that regular members can see, but if @The Natural can see it, then there's something wrong. You can check the settings by going to Members > Groups, then clicking on the pencil icons for the different groups and confirming that the setting "Can post HTML?" isn't set to on. (It might be that Natural is not seeing the source text on the toolbar but has instead spotted the cross cursor which appears on the top left of a quote box when you hover over it. Clicking on that and then hitting delete is the correct way to delete the quotes.)
  8. ^^ That's right. If there's been new content in a thread, its title will be in bold and there will be a circle icon on the left of the title, which will take you to the first unread post. (This will be a star icon if you've already posted within the thread.) If you accidentally go into a thread which you've already read, you'll be able to see the cut-off visually because a blue horizontal line separates the last read post and the first unread. My secret tip is that if you want to split a quote into smaller parts, then it's dead easy; just click within the quote and click enter a couple of times to create a new line between the point where you want to make the break. Then in that new line, tap enter twice and it will split the quote there.
  9. It doesn't seem quite as bad as it sounds:
  10. Rochelle Loewen herself said as far back as 2005 that it was baby oil but, well, I don't suppose anybody watches shoot interviews by divas.
  11. It's been a chant sung in English soccer stadiums since the seventies, the heyday of hooliganism. I knew it when I was a kid in the eighties, and it's known enough that it was used for comedy purposes in this sketch from the nineties: (Bah, the embedded link isn't loading at the correct point. It's after 1:07.)
  12. How's this? (You'll have to take me on trust that there's no background there, unless you're using a different skin to the default.)
