It's not a bad jumping point. I'd almost recommend at least tracking down some G1 stuff and the Okada/Tanahashi matches from last year though.

Not for nothing, when I picture the Rougeau/Dynamite deal, it plays out very comically in my head. The Gertner rhymes were so juvenile, that you think it's one of those things you'd hate as you got older. But no, I still chuckled the last time I heard one recently, so yeah I guess we're all juvenile lol. I can't find the video, but there was a backstage bit in 2000. Masato Tanaka is cutting a promo in Japanese, then Dawn Marie bursts in and tells him to quiet down because she's trying to concentrate. He says something back to her, then Storm and Credible jump him and beat him down. The punchline at the end is Storm saying something like "thats one less foreigner in this company we have to deal with".

I love Kate Micucci in everything and didn't like the Lucy character. Can't believe how the writers dropped the ball with her. Same here. When she first showed up, I was very excited because I'm all "hey, it's Gooch"!! The idea of her character was perfect for Raj, but really did bungle the character. At this point, count me in on the "Raj is gay" reveal.

You won't be disappointed in the final 4.

I don't see it going past one more season. They have a unique problem in that the show is more popular than ever, so from a fiscal point of view, it's going to be hard for them to let go. But they have an opportunity to wrap things up in a satisfactory way without the show getting too far past it's prime.

We talk about this show enough in the TV thread, and someone suggested we give it it's own thread, so here goes. I liked one thing in particular from the last episode. Sheldon was actually quite serious for a moment when Leonard was distraught about Penny. Sure, it set up a joke, but we know Sheldon doesn't lie, so he meant what he said to Leonard. Anyhow, talk away.

As funny as this is, it probably belongs in the "How NOT To Cut A Fucking Promo" thread This doesn't touch Stan Hansen's JUMBO TOO ROOTA. About the Prodigette in the Simon Diamond promo, the joke was that she was a tranny or some shit, if I recall. As an aside, she works as Angel Orsini now and is incredibly cool and sweet. I actually worked with her a couple of times, and she's one of the most humble chicks I've ever met in the business.

I kinda find it funny that Quake didn't want to work Yoko, since they put him over so big in the Sumo deal. I imagine that he would have gotten a good push come 95, just because they were so desperate for guys with name recognition. He would have been one of the few holdovers from the Hulkamania era.

Man, I miss Worldwide. Actually, I miss that whole routine as a kid. It came on the local NBC affiliate at an ungodly hour on Saturday night. So I would watch SNL, SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO and Worldwide. I miss being a kid.

My biggest problem with the Gracie match is that they just really looked like they didn't belong. They seemed lost a few times, and the smaller Gracie actually looked afraid at times. It just never clicked. I think a singles match with one of them versus either Nagata or Sakuraba would have worked alot better.

All of them. Seriously, this match was just awful. Everything else on the card I thought ranged from solid/fun to great. I didn't expect much from Fale/Makabe and Kojima/Conway, but both exceeded expectations. I thought the last 4 matches were damn good. For some reason I love the Yano vs Minoru matchups. I was really really missing Yujiro and Ishii on this one though. The presentation for the whole show brought it up a few notches for me.

I'm with you there. Amy and Raj have been the MVP's of the season by far with the jokes they are given to work with. Raj had me dying in the treasure hunt episode.

So are they not going to release Warrior or American Badass Taker in any DLC? Or are we just fucked if we didn't preorder?

CP3 left the game tonight with a shoulder injury. Not sure how serious it is.

I like the early episodes better too, but I feel like the show would have had a shorter shelf life with just the original core characters. Where do you go with Walowitz without Bernadette? He was a very one note character early on. Raj's current storyline doesn't work without all the female characters involved either. So yeah, the early stuff was funnier, but the female characters extended the life of the show.

That has always been the case though, all the way back to the first NWO season. Derrick Rose, and even Barea and Nate Robinson are good examples of this.
