  1. Most of the show was completely skippable. Harper had a GREAT Powerbomb on Dolph. That elimination tag at Survivor Series looks awful on paper. At least half of those guys I have zero interest in watching wrestle. I was hoping for a big surprise to close the show & get people excited for the PPV & instead we got Erik Rowan. *slaps head*
  2. I randomly get that Destination America station on Time Warner Cable...although I never watch TNA. That's one of the first times I've heard of a new stations, looked for it & actually had it though. Can not say the same about other channels that I have looked for recently, such as SEC Network for college football or even ESPN Classic anymore (not a part of my package) or NFL Network. Bastards.
  3. I have been singing the praises of Bobby Fish on Twitter for awhile. reDRagon is the best part about ROH right now for me. He's tremendously talented.
  4. Episode #3 • I really like Catrina. Still have no idea why WWE got rid of her. She might be my favorite character on the entire show so far. • Mil Muertes will be better in squash matches. He needs a different finish & different tights. The jobber this week took a great Spear. • The sitdown interview with Chavo Guerrero, Jr. was really good & really well done. Props there. • I still dig all the backstage vignettes. It feels different & fresh. • Midget match was fun & non-offensive. • Commentary didn't grate on my nerves as much this week. • 3-Way Main Event was fun. A good way to introduce all three guys. Each guy got to look good. A lot of dives & drivers. No botches. Good time. This shows feels fresh. It doesn't feel like a recycled, regurgitated product. I want to see each match, I want to see new people debut, I want to see what each character is about.
  5. This just sounds bizarre. Is this a joke I'm not getting? Link Sounds like he just came out to try to get some cheap heat for the show. They'll edit his part out when it airs.
  6. I read the spoilers & skipped RAW. Kind of wish it was taped every week. Saved me three hours. Not feeling Survivor Series at all.
  7. The biggest draw to Lucha Underground for me was that it wasn't a bunch of WWE people. I wanted something different. That's why I roll my eyes at Chavo and Ezekiel Jackson. Bring on episode three with all the new faces. That's what I want. I also don't want to hear a bunch of smarky crowd chants like "This is Awesome" or hear Vampiro telling us shit is a Match of the Year.
  8. If I'm in the minority opinion in thinking that Cody Rhodes is the shits & the Stardust gimmick is horrendous, channel-changing trash then so be it. That dude could get fired tomorrow & all it would do is improve the show. Especially if it meant Goldust going back to some singles matches.
  9. He didn't spin the wrong way. He spun the right way. He just spins so fast your brain can process it quickly enough. It's faster than the speed of light. You could say it was the perfect spin. Like Superman turning back time by flying around the world the opposite direction it was rotating.
  10. 2nd episode thoughts: I'm 100% NOT on board with Chavo, Jr. being one of the top guys in this company. He's old to wrestling fans because we've seen him for so long & the entirety of his career to U.S. fans is as a fucking jobber. Chair shot on Sexy Star I didn't really see coming. I guess that's another thing they're doing to try to be different from WWE? I'm not terribly familiar with Lucha Libre or AAA, so maybe it's more common in Mexico. Mil Muertes was a big-ass hoss which I didn't see coming. The best thing about him was his entrance attire. He looked like Warlord in a mask. Didn't impress me. Neither did Blue Demon, Jr. in his second outing. Maxine looked great though & I'm surprised WWE let her go. Vampiro is already driving me crazy. He says "brother" more than Hulk Hogan. I wonder if he says brother more times than Dave Meltzer says "ya know?" Opening tag match was pretty good but the main event of week one was better. Overall, I think the first episode was better than this episode. This episode didn't have as many cuts to the commentary table, so that's good. Still a lot of the overhead shots which need to be eliminated during actual matches when they're going. I still really dig the backstage movie style vignettes. Puma is really good. Hope it's better next week.
  11. That's a big statement. Off the top of my head, the first ones that came to mind for me were Ricky Morton, Ricky Steamboat & Rey Mysterio, Jr. I'm also a big fan of Tito Santana. What's your five if Jarrett is in it? Also, for the NJPW commentary, if I could pick the two, I would go with Jim Ross and Mick Foley.
  12. Anticipating hearing who the English speaking commentators for the NJPW show will be!
  13. It didn't take long to shoe horn Rowan into a comedy role, eh? I really liked this RAW though. I don't really have any complaints.
  14. There's a Rick Martel shoot on Youtube in its entirety. I believe he says the reason he didn't get a bigger push was because his accent was so thick it was hard for people to understand him.
  15. My favorite part about the Arn Anderson run-in & Spinebuster in that match was that I didn't even see him roll in. It completely took me by surprise. God that spot was awesome.
  16. Of course I would want him to come back, in any capacity. Same with Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar & Wade Barrett. If they're around more often, there's more people on the show for me to care about. The pop when his music hit would own.
  17. I'll be rocking out to Static-X today in memory of Wayne Static. R.I.P.
  18. Agree with most the stuff in the OP. Thought it was a great debut show & I'm really happy with it. I will be tuning in again next week. Blue Demon was not impressive at all. He seemed old, fat, slow & sloppy but maybe he just had a bad night. Vampiro got worse as the show went on for me & he kept repeating stuff like "bro" & "brother" which started to grate my nerves but that's a minor complaint. He also called Sexy Star "baby" which seemed inappropriate (unless it turns into an angle?) -- I thought Striker was OK but he just needs a different guy with him out there. I don't know what the tapings are like or how many are in the pipe already or what. I'm going to avoid spoilers though. Great main event. I like the roster for the most part that I've seen so far. Some good talkers. Loved the movie-style vignettes. The overhead camera was different & a welcome shot but should definitely not be overused. Worst part of the show was the random camera cuts over to the commentators for no reason which became really apparent in the main event. I really liked the intro too with the backgrounds of some Lucha history & the character development videos. Good stuff. Konnan talking about the seven Aztec tribes each having a village champion to battle was tremendous. Really explained the masks well. Love the look of the arena & think it would be a ton of fun to see a live show there. I like the look and size of the ring too. The basement feel fits. Good show with just a few first episode nit-picks. Will be back to watch again for sure.
  19. Check out the thread for the show in the lucha thread. Cool, thanks. I just watched the show too.
  20. Did anyone catch Lucha Underground on El Rey Network yesterday? I'm just now hearing about it. I know they have John Morrison, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Konnan & Maxine on there.
  21. So does just the Rusev Camel Clutch not look good, or did the other versions by Iron Sheik, The Sheik, Hassan, Sgt. Slaughter, etc. all not look "hurty" either? I've always thought that was one of the most painful looking moves, honestly.
  22. I would like a tag team of Big E & Christian. Gives them both something to do & a reason to be on TV again. Big E could learn a lot from Christian. They're not just both black (which seems to be how WWE slaps a lot of teams together) and it had the powerhouse and technition/quickness aspect to it. Could maybe work.
  23. If Kevin Dunn is responsible for the camera men constantly zooming in-and-out then yes, I hate him.
  24. I always think back to the Scott Hall quote "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission." Bust someone open hardway in that cage match. Fuck it.
