  1. He said it was because John Cena walks around like he owns the place & thinks he's better than people, or something. Was pretty loose.
  2. Ha ha. I meant Axel. I also had no idea RAW was taped last night. I barely keep up with things online anymore.
  3. Hated the show last night. I loved RAW the last two weeks but last night was really hard for me to sit through & I found myself changing the channel quite often over to The Food Network to watch Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. I know why, too. It's because there's so many people on the roster that I don't care about & seemingly all of them get television time. Or at least they did last night. So I went to WWE.com today to see how many people on the roster I legitimately enjoy: I got to about ten. However there's about double that of people that I do not want to watch. In example, to me, I don't care how good a match is between Alberto Del Rio Vs. Christian. I simply do not want to watch it. I do not care about either guy, have never cared about either guy & will not ever care about either guy. I guess Christian was OK during the Edge & Christian days, at least he was funny, but unless he's in a ladder match or a TLC match, I just don't care to watch him. I don't really care if he can have a solid albeit forgettable match on free TV. I would rather just watch something else. So I did. Same with Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, all of the Divas (whom had multiple matches last night...), Curtis fucking Axel, that jobber fuck, R-Truth (what!?), Kane, There's a lot. Love the Wyatt family entrance. That's pretty epic. I like Summer Rae but have really soured on Fandango. The gimmick is fine to me but he's just not a really good wrestler. He seems lost a lot of the time. So I find myself tuning out, mentally. Did not care about the main event at all. Why is Ryback that high on the card still?
  4. I used to be pretty high on Justin Gabriel. I thought he had a ton of potential. I thought he could have even been a modern era Ricky Steamboat: look handsome, wrestle well as a clean cut babyface but not be a great promo. Instead, WWE just sort of made him a jobber that barely makes TV, he has a bad haircut & looks generic. Shame. After the Nexus debut, he really impressed me. It wasn't so much him doing the 450 Splash, it was his facial expression before he did it.
  5. That's because almost every single time they have a "big surprise!" it's some bullshit or a jobber & no one gives a fuck. So now whenever they announce anything, which as you noted is pretty often, people assume the worst.
  6. I would take The Great Khali over Chris Sabin. And by that, I mean Khali is more credible & Sabin is a worse champion.
  7. I personally can't stand Lucha. It's nothing but blown spots, referees counting in slow motion & annoying people in the crowd blowing loud ass horns & shit. I've tried to get into it before, several times. I've watched matches that were supposed to be "classics" or high caliber matches recommended to me. It just bored the hell out of me. I can't do it. The best part was the ring girls. Not my cup of tea at all. It's pretty much everything that I dislike about wrestling, actually. I can't suspend my disbelief watching Lucha. Meanwhile, the second half of each NJPW iPPV card for the last two years or so has been pretty damn money. Tanahashi, Okada, Goto, Suzuki, Naito, Makabe, Naito & Shibata all impress me. Nakamura is hit or miss but sometimes he impresses me too. I would say that biggest thing that irks me about NJPW is all the trading of stiff shots. I hate those exchanges where they just exchange forearms or chops or kicks back-and-forth for five minutes. And it seems like every match has that in it anymore.
  8. He's a really good friend that also happens to be THE BEAST INCARNATE~!
  9. When John Cena finally hangs up his boots, I'm curious what his legacy is going to be like, to internet fans. I feel like he is underrated by a lot of people while he's on top but when it's all over people will look back at his run & appreciate it a lot more. Maybe not here on DVDVR specifically as I think more people around here dig him.
  10. RAW is pretty good lately. I'm really digging the rise of Daniel Bryan. Plus with Cesaro getting ringtime, the Usos getting a push, Dolph turning babyface, The Shield, Punk/Heyman/Lesnar, The Wyatt Family, even Maddox...I'm digging WWE a lot right now.
  11. I know the exact moment actually. It was after Starrcade 1998, when Kevin Nash ended Goldberg's streak. I had not had internet for very long & it was still the days of dial-up. I went on-line to talk about the show, the first time it had ever dawned on me to talk about wrestling on-line. I can't remember the forum I was reading, WrestlingGames.com or something. But it changed everything starting with that evening. I was so confused as to why everyone was shitting on BOTH Goldberg & Nash. I knew that wrestling wasn't "real" way before that, obviously but that was my first experience with the completely different "insider" perspective of it all, I guess. I have no idea what terminology to use as this all sounds ridiculous to me. After that show though, that's when I started learning a lot more about the behind-the-scenes aspect of wrestling & stuff. Up until then, it was just a TV show where I bought into the characters without questioning much else. I had been reading Wrestling Digest (lol) & getting into ECW when they first hit PPV so I think I was on that path anyway. Then I started getting Puro tapes & stuff & went from there. Nowadays, I get more enjoyment from the behind-the-scenes stuff than I do the actual shows. Total 180.
  12. The match with Triple H needs to be an extra.
  13. When did The Ultimate Warrior decide that he wasn't going to try to speak with every other word being something you need a Dictionary to define anymore? Anyone else remember that? There for awhile he was all about trying to sound smart by using big words. It was hilarious. I'm surprised Warrior would do anything with WWE again after they buried on him that Warrior DVD. Maybe it's all water under the bridge now? With that interview & him being in the new video game, maybe he'll also get inducted next year into the WWE Hall of Fame.
  14. Really enjoyed RAW last night. Felt it was better than the PPV the night before. RVD/Jericho was a lot of fun. I liked the way the show kicked off. It felt unpredictable. Especially with The Shield doing the beatdown on Henry. The Wyatt segment was good. The Punk/Heyman/Lesnar segment was great & my third favorite WWE segment of the year (behind the Heyman/McMahon segment & Mark Henry's fake retirement). The end was great too with Cena playing with the fans & the American Dragon selection. Crowd was hot most of the night too. Was a lot of fun. I wish it was like that every week.
  15. Well, I am certainly not used to this style of forum. I can't figure out how to do a lot of things, such as disable signatures so I don't see them. Sort of making me feel like am imbecile. Also, had I checked the mainpage days ago instead of just using my bookmark to the old forums, I would have already discovered that the forums were, in fact, up and running. So now I feel like a jobber too. Good times. EDIT: OOH, I figured it out. There's an X next to the sigs & you can "ignore all signatures." Woot.
