  1. Last I checked PPVs were $45 ($50 for HD), I think people are exaggerating for effect.
  2. Plus I mean a lot of people prefer to watch wrestling on their big screen TV, and people aren't going to go buy the equipment to do that just for one free PPV. Maybe if they ordered it long term, sure, but my dad isn't going to buy a roku to use it once (he didn't buy the PPV either). Remember what the average age is that now watches WWE (I think it was over 40), a lot of older viewers wouldn't have the knowledge, internet speed, and/or equipment to watch a PPV on their TV via the Network.
  3. I know this is a silly question (star power!) but why the hell would the UFC even want Rampage? He is a headache, lost his last three matches there and wasn't resigned, barely beat King Mo in a fight no one really won, became a headache again... and now is going back to UFC two years later? I guess Ortiz and Shamrock should be returning to UFC soon as well, is Tank Abbott still fighting? Crowd loved him too. I swear we are just a few years away from UFC having tag team matches.
  4. If Cena press slammed Khali off the stage through a table, that would be an incredible spot. I need video evidence. Wait, this??? He just tosses him off the stage, off camera, onto a giant foam mattress. Which is usually how WWE does those spots these days. About 10% similar.
  5. I am sure all of these matches are floating around the Internet somewhere, but I figured I'd rip them and upload them all into one place. Most of these were from Internet streams so these are not HD quality or anything like that, but if I had the event I kept in the entrances and a bit of the post-match. 2014 Best Bout Winner: Kazuchika Okada vs. Shinsuke Nakamura from New Japan on August 10th Other Nominated Matches (in chronological order): - Kazuchika Okada vs. Kota Ibushi from New Japan on March 6th - Tomohiro Ishii vs. Kota Ibushi from New Japan on May 25th - AJ Styles vs. Minoru Suzuki from New Japan on August 1st - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. AJ Styles from New Japan on October 13th - Keiji Mutoh vs. Masayuki Kono from WRESTLE-1 on November 1st - Takashi Sugiura vs. Daisuke Sekimoto from Pro Wrestling NOAH on November 8th If any of the links don't work or your Internet hates mediafire, just let me know.
  6. Yea I just tried the app on Android in Google Play, basically it is just a shortcut to the website but the videos are optimized for mobile phones so they look fine.
  7. That's the funny part, because I like those matches I am really easily amused. Just do 'something' and I'm happy. So it takes a lot for spectacle matches like that not to entertain me. It does help to have someone slightly more energetic in the match. Also part of my concern is the more they have them just the more.... "same old" they will get, hopefully they will mix up the wrestlers in them to keep the matches fresh.
  8. To be fair, I don't think its dangerous. Not anymore anyway. Both I watched didn't have any blood, strongly implying the barbed wire is about as fake as possible. The NOAH event had one of the lowest draws all year for a card with a GHC Heavyweight Championship match and only 300 more than the last time they were in that building, which was just for a random middle of the tour event with no title matches. Maybe the Yakuza enjoy them. I actually don't care if it draws or not to be honest, I just want to be entertained, I'm selfish like that. I was referring to my own personal preference in my original post, not their profit from them. And they can be entertaining, the one on 3/21 was, generally I enjoy spectacle matches. But if they all suck that does nothing for me, ZERO1 stopped giving me the cut of their gate a long time ago so now I just want good match quality Its more frustrating because the matches can be good, but if they just do an epic coast job like on 9/23 I won't be the only person that gets tired of them.
  9. I haven't noticed any boost in attendance on those cards, I think it just means Onita works cheap.
  10. The one on 3/21 was better because they did moves and stuff besides just doing the explosions. And the explosion spots were cooler. I haven't lost all faith in the match but they need probably a younger wrestler or two to do some faster paced stuff, and some creativity with the spots. I liked this spot from 3/21 for example:
  11. So I watched the barbed wire explosion match from NOAH 9/23. Probably the worst match I have watched all year. I actually enjoy these type of spectacle matches, but it was just awful. The barbed wire meant nothing, the explosions meant nothing (some weren't really even sold), no blood, just old wrestlers tying up and doing nothing. Onita has killed his own gimmick match, I know it had already lost its luster but damn I never want to see another one now.
  12. Uhh I have the match somewhere, unless you mean the list, which I found from reddit.
  13. Yeah, if only Cutler had a good rugged defense, two giant wide receivers capable of making the most ridiculous catches ever and a Pro Bowl caliber running back on the Bears... I'm not sure what you're smoking, but the Bears Defense YPG Allowed is 30th, the Bills are 5th. The Bears have allowed the most points on defense in the NFL. Soooo not exactly a good rugged defense. Not saying I want Cutler on the Bills (although he'd be better than Orton), but the Bills are better than the Bears (which admittedly isn't saying much). Admittedly, I had no idea what kind of D the Bears had and mostly wanted to make the point that the Bears offensive weapons are pretty much as good as you'll find anywhere in the league. I mean, McCown got signed as a coveted free agent because they made him look so good. Still, I'm kinda shocked their defense is that bad. Didn't they have one of the best D's in the league like a year or two ago? Hard to believe it fell off the map that quickly. Cutler's turnovers didn't help, I know those numbers can be misleading because when the offense is bad, the defense is on the field more and naturally allows more yards and points by default. I think they have shitty safeties if I recall, if Jae or Craig waddle back in here they probably know better why they suck so much.
  14. Yeah, if only Cutler had a good rugged defense, two giant wide receivers capable of making the most ridiculous catches ever and a Pro Bowl caliber running back on the Bears... 15. I don't understand how they can be so off with DDP but get Bam Bam right. I mean DDP is still on good terms with WWE, just have him come in for a scan. Yet Bam Bam looks right and he's been dead for seven years. And yea that isn't the Greetings from Asbury Park. Does the game not have head-droppy moves? That may explain the modification.
  16. I think they would both be nuts. Cowher has a nice cushy studio job with 5% of the hours and stress of being a head coach, plus he has been out of coaching so long there is no guarentee he will be as successful if he jumps into a new situation. Coughlin is 68 years old and has two Super Bowl rings as a head coach (three total), doesn't he have a family and grandkids or something? Coaching is so time consuming and stressful I don't understand people well in retirement age that have already proven to be great coaches that stick around.
  17. Here were the full awards: 2014 MVP - Hiroshi Tanahashi Annual Best Bout Award - Kazuchika Okada vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (New Japan on 8/10) Best Tag Team Award - "Dangan Yankees" Takashi Sugiura (NOAH) and Masato Tanaka (ZERO1) Distinguished Service Award - Tomohiro Ishii Fighting Spirit Award - Atsushi Onita Technical Award - BxB Hulk Rookie of the Year Award - Saki Akai Lifetime Achievement Award - Akira Taue and Kensuke Sasaki And to answer Noah Mark's question, the other matches up for the "Match of the Year" were: Okada vs. Ibushi (NJPW) 3/6 Ishii vs. Ibushi (NJPW) 5/25 Styles vs. Suzuki (NJPW) 8/1 Tanahashi vs. Styles (NJPW) 10/13 Mutoh vs. Kono (W-1) 11/1 Sugiura vs. Sekimoto (NOAH) 11/8
  18. Stafford can suck a dick as far as I am concerned, he is dead to me. I lost several games this year because of him.
  19. They need to do whatever they have to do to keep Heyman on TV. Course I've always thought that, yet he has been on and off TV for the last decade depending on Vince's mood at the time.
  20. You and JR need to at some point in the next week shoot me a PM on how you want your monies sent. Either paypal as a gift if you are set up for such things, or I can mail a personal check that I promise won't bounce.
  21. As the commish of the money league, I am allowed to tweak the scores if needed, right?
  22. Beans and Oats. Not together. The nice thing about oats is you can add spices that have negligible calories (like cinnamon), I usually throw in a piece of toast or something. Just don't drown it in butter. Course I don't mean those prepackaged flavored oatmeals, I guess those aren't unhealthy but they aren't as good as just getting oats and making it yourself, and they are more expensive. Lots of different types of beans are pretty healthy, as mentioned I just started eating lentils, the amount of meals you get out of one bag is crazy. Comes out to like 30 cents a serving. Plus the stuff you add to it like with oatmeal is generally healthy, I just put in onions and it was tasty.
  23. So the Bills are NFC North Champions, right?
  24. I just discovered lentils. OMG so good. My weight loss is still stalled out so looking for new healthy foods to introduce into my diet, I think lentils will qualify. I like them plain, I can imagine once I get some recipes they are really going to be great. I did one day of Rushfit, thought I didn't push myself (took a break when needed, followed the 'alternative' version when needed). Next day was sore, fine, but my thigh was sore for three days to the point I couldn't run (luckily I could walk through it, so I still could exercise some). So yea, that is my body telling me to hold off on Rushfit at least until I just work up my muscles a bit more, I don't mind being sore the next day but going three days not being able to run is an issue.
