At least the major news sites seem to be picking it up (still nothing on the ESPN website). I'm always afraid that some mainstream media will take the "well wrestling is scummy, what can ya do?" approach but this goes far beyond that, I want it to get big enough that Endeavour has to make some real changes. Not just changes that look good in a press release (investigate this, suspend this person) but real actual changes. I don't want to get optimistic of course as we've seen this happen before with little change, but maybe this is bad enough that finally people will be held accountable for their actions.

    It’s on CNN

I mean, if TKO sets the precedent for that sort of thing, it would not exactly work well for other TKO luminaries danawhite so..

anyways, Kevin Dunn got out of town just in time for unrelated reasons, didn't he?

TKO has no standards. Dana White is on video hitting his wife in Mexico. Nothing happened.

The problem with the Avengers and the Justice League is they rarely have a solo villain as an antagonist, unless it’s someone like Ultron or Darkseid, and they often have monions or a volume of goons/robots as fodder. Normally, it’s your Masters of Evil / Injstice Society groups of villains with a head honcho (Zemo, the Wizard) and then various B/C level folks.

I mean, how many super A+ villains does either company really have? Maybe a handful each? They’ve already used Thanos, Ultron, The Red Skull and Loki. Even Zemo if you could him as an A lister. Doom and Magneto are probably who you have left.

of course, the caveat is that any character, even Paste Pot Pete or the psycho pirate, can be threats if written correctly. Look at the Molecule Man in Secret Wars.

I'd probably add Galactus to the A+ list they could still use

The thing that just sticks out to me about this, and it isn't anywhere near the most important point in any of this, is that Perry's line was just 100% pitch perfect what Punk would have said in that situation and has more or less said in others. Both men seem like individuals I'd cross the road to avoid having to interact with, but I have a specific aversion to people who talk a lot but cannot deal with any back.

Exactly. 2005-2011 Punk says the exact same thing. 2023 Punk is 1996 Hogan, but Hogan was smart enough not to actually fight people. No fists, just politics brother.

I wanted Christian Cage as actual TNT Champion. Let new talent learn from him then put the right guy over for it.

Easy answer should have been have Christian “finger poke of Doom” Luchasaurus for the belt.  Just have the dinosaur lay down and Christian wins the belt with one foot. Cause it’s not working as it currently is. Nobody cares about Luchasarus.

Who did Gaia topple as most overpowered? Captain Marvel was the first name that came to mind.

Hopefully it's more like Gaia has all their powers but isn't on the same level as them. Like, she has Carol's powers but if Gaia and Carol were to fight (and she could only use Carol's powers), she'd lose just because her Captain Marvel powers aren't as strong.

Cause if not... yeah they just made a WAY overpowered character. Who needs the Avengers now, just send Gaia.

  7. Brock respecting the time honored tradition of spewing plasma in Puerto Rico was the highlight of the show. Otherwise a solid B show. Like everyone has said, the crowd made it so much better.

Here's something else worth mentioning since I've seen it more than once mentioned that the CGI isn't up to snuff, but...WTF has happened with CGI in MCU movies? It used to be top notch and some of the best around, with some exceptions like the Black Panther train fight. The CGI in Eternals was not good and the post credits had maybe some of the worst CGI I've seen. The end of Shang-Chi was just weird looking. Then you have She-Hulk. I wonder if they have so many irons in the fire that their graphics department is just being spread too thin.

Crazy fast deadlines, underpaid and overworked CGI artists seems to be the story. If anything something like Avatar 2 proved if you have the time and the money you can still get amazing CGI. Marvel just doesn’t care at this point. Or doesn’t care enough when their bottom line won’t really be impacted by spending another $20 million on CGI or taking another 6 months to ensure everything is top notch.

    What's Booker T's best match?

Booker T vs. Bret Hart from the 2/22/99 Nitro gets my vote for Bookers best singles match. Easily one of Bret's top 3 WCW matches too in my opinion. It might be the last great Bret singles match (other than the Benoit match from later that year). I can't find a version to link to in good quality unfortunately. But check it out if you can.

  10. I agree with everyone who says the Guardians scenes felt off (Pratt especially). Not sure what was going on there… maybe they had to shoot everything in like a day and it was what it was but it just felt off. Just a different feel than Guardians 1-2 and Avengers Infinity War. Maybe Pratt is just done with the role…

I’ve enjoyed all the shows for the most part, although Moon Knight is easily at the bottom of the list for me.

I can’t quite put my finger on what’s “wrong” with the shows, but I keep thinking about those early PPVs in the Network era when they’d do free preview months and the ending of the PPVs that month always led more to Raw the next night than any sort of real resolution.

The shows are basically like an event comic limited series tie-in. They’re mostly standing on their own, could have their own tone, while also being connected (but ultimately non-essential) to the main event.

I think you nailed it. Aside from WandaVision (which setup Dr Strange) and Loki (which could have huge ramifications in the multiverse timeline) nothing has really affected the main event players in the MCU much. The Disney shows are Rampage or Sunday Night Heat to use the wrestling analogy.

aaaaaand already rumors of McGregor wanting another season are starting to come out and I really hope we do not get that. We have closure man, let it lie!

    James

Only if it's just Obi Wan wandering Tatooine helping random strangers like Caine in Kung Fu. Fighting Tusken Raiders, helping villages, dealing with the Huts, smugglers, etc... No Vader, no Empire stuff. Just small scale. I'd watch that show. But let the overall saga be done. That last episode was pretty much perfect.

It seems super absurd to even say out loud.

I've heard of people doing this for boxing or UFC when they only care about the main event but never for a wrestling PPV where the cards tend to be more stacked top to bottom. Boxing especially used to have long boring undercards until your Mayweather or Tyson or whomever would go on last 3 hours into the PPV.

Without having time to do the legwork,  do we know when the last time a wwf/wwe woman did a blade job in a match? I'd presume most blood in recent times has been hardway.

Interested in this as well… hell when was the last time there was a mens blade job and not hard way… it has to be years ago.
