  1. Had the opportunity to see Ayako Hamada vs. KANA from SHIMMER 50 yesterday. Aside from the G1, there have been very few matches recently I've immediately wanted to rewatch after watching them. This, I wanted to rewatch ten times after watching it.It never fails to shock me when I see what high level Joshi wrestlers are able to do when they turn it on. Ayako and KANA had their A games here. They were laying it in, with crispness and perfect timing right from the opening bell. They sell the effects of the match as it gets into it's latter stages to the point where you know it's gonna be a last woman standing type deal. My favourite moment of the match was Ayako's leglock counter to a KANA high kick which when I saw it again in the post match replays, I was just in awe. One of the coolest spots I think I've ever seen. So so perfect.Go out of your way to see this match. I'm sure people have pimped it before and I'm late to the party but I had to share!

  10. Terrible attendances (like a new level of bad) but the guys are working super hard
  11. I'm almost positive that one was in Osaka, Alan. I reached out to someone with M-Pro connections and they told me it was Hakata Star Lanes, and to be honest it does look like Hakata to me. What are your reasons for thinking Osaka? My mistake: It was the elimination match from Dec '96 that was in Osaka. The elimination match was so good!!!

  13. really random question that I need the answer of! Anyone know what city/town this match happened in. The date was 12/16/1996 and it's arguably the greatest Mich Pro match ever. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4426n_michinoku-pro-10man-tag-12-16-96-pa_news
  14. pretty much every Ohtani/Takaiwa match I saw was friggin awesome. It is indeed odd how little hype they've had over the years. What's this Big Wednesday match you speak of? Is it online anywhere?
  15. Gonna try to post regular reviews/thoughts as I go through and watch some random matches here and there. Sometimes it’ll ones I’m already familiar with and want to rewatch, other times it’ll be ones that I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen. This first match definitely falls into the latter category and boy am I glad to see it now!2000 – Fuchi vs. ChonoSo I have no idea what the macro storyline was that was at play here (if there even was a cohesive one) but Chono and his Team 2000 pals are coming onto All Japan ground for what looks like a Budokan show and Old Man Fuchi is gonna stand strong on his turf! The heat is insane for every little thing. I love the opening with Fuchi eatching Chono’s lunch as the crowd goes mad. I also love how disgusted Fuchi is by the audacity of Chono to wear a shirt in the ring like some kind of indy scum. The mid-portion of the match would be boring in a lot of situations but you couldn’t take your eyes of it here. Then in the last few minutes Fuchi pretty much writes to book on effective use of fighting spirit. Great stuff.Probably no chance of getting near my top 30, but I could see this comfortably landing in my 70-80 …. Which for a decade vote I would say is impressive.
  16. Lynch is still operating and gets alot of random Japanese indy stuff. Him and IVP are really the main places I'd buy discs from.
  17. the Chris Hero vs. Human Tornado cage match just popped into my head as one. It was such a great culmination of their war feud.
  18. you should have checked out the super fun Tozawa/Mochizuki vs. Fujii/Arai match that followed it!
