  1. maybe the best interview that Ferg's done. Really great job mate.
  2. Dean booked the next AJPW tag title match Akebono & Yoshie vs. Suwama & Doering
  3. NO to both the Rush matches, althought phrasing it like that is probably harsh on him since I thought he looked awesome in both. Just the matches as a whole weren't anything I'd be going back to watch for Best Of purposes. YES to Tanahashi/Nakamura from Feb 9. Liked this alot more than the Dome match. Really great effort from both guys. The crowd was way more into this compared to last time and that helped the match a ton. Shinsuke was pulling out all kinds of cool unexpected counters and I LOVED his fire up after the High Fly Flow kickout which was almost a call back to what Ibushi did to him last year. NOMINATE: 2/2 NJPW - Ishii/Nakamura/Okada vs. Naito/Tanahashi/Goto One of my favourite things I've heard about this match was that it was like an old Clash Of The Champions style main event where you have a bunch of issues all combined together in one big tag match. The guys who are programmed with each other mainly stick to each other, but you get some cross-up as well and it keeps the match interesting. That aside, this was all about Ishii clubberin' fools! With every match you can see him and Naito clicking more and more, and they tore it up here. The other four guys all played their parts really well too. The structure is there, the action never stops and the crowd is red hot. Great stuff.
  4. NO for me. Fun but didn't light my world on fire.
  5. I did and it really wasn't my cup of tea unfortunately. Fujiwara at that age is just too shaky. Would like to see more Mochi in a non-DG shooty environment though - just to see how he'd hang with some of the younger crop.
  6. yep, Mochi/Yoshino is online. That latest show you watched was probably not the best for new or lapsed fans. I definitely wouldn't have recommended it. what I would recommend is maybe watching the Mochizuki/Arai vs. T-Hawk/U-T match from December. It's short and to the point. Will get you excited for watching Mochi in the above mentioned title match.
  7. I got two nominations for ya Kev ol' boy! NOMINATE: DG 1/16 Yoshino vs. Mochizuki I did my spiel on this in the Stuff You're Watching thread. It's going to be very tough for any match to top this as my MOTY. DG 1/12 T-Hawk vs. Mochizuki Completely different kind of Mochi match but great in it's own regard. This was two stray dogs fighting in a back alley over a piece of meat that fell out of the dumpster. Not pretty in the slightest. Downright ugly at times. But it's done in the best way possible. You also have the old guy/young guy dynamic which these two are playing up better than any combo in wrestling right now. Match length could give you some concern but it's unwarranted as this flies by.
  8. Yoshi wanted to move to Texas a few months back because he had become aware of a really nice Japanese community there, which would be handy for his daughter who's starting school soon. Anyway, the office wouldn't let him because they demanded that he still attends all of the basic training in developmental. So basically he just does hip toss drills all day. Feel bad for the guy. He was fantastic back on ECW. Had some awesome matches with Ryder and Regal.
  9. Why in Gods name would you watch 12 matches of something you don't like? Seems like a waste of your time mate.
  10. hesistant YES to KENTA/Morishima but a YES nonetheless
  11. YES to Shibata/Goto (my second fave match of their series) and Okada/Naito (a fantastic performance by these guys on the big stage).
  12. Mochizuki vs. Yoshino is probably my new favourite DG match ever (well, in Japan anyway as nothing will ever beat the Nottingham Shingo/Susumu match). Absolutely ridiculous. They pulled out ALL the stops. If you're the type to scream "Overkill!" then I reckon this isn't your match but for me and the 2,000 fans in Korakuen who were LOSING THEIR FRIGGIN MINDS this was something special. I won't spoil but certain things happen in this match that I'd never thought I'd see happen - probably stuff that's a bigger deal to hardcore DG fans though. Masaaki Mochizuki gave one of the best performances I've ever seen a wrestler give in this match. AND HE'S IN HIS FORTIES!!!! This guy is a true treasure in Pro Wrestling and he deserves to be regarded as one of the best ever because he is. I was lucky enough to get somewhat of an "advanced screening" of this but it should be available for everyone soon and when it is, you must watch it immediately.
  13. He's way smaller than the junior champion
  14. I bought it off Highspots. They have DVD and download available. http://www.highspots.com/p/VD_kingofflight_2013.html
  15. Dean, Yuji Okabayashi wrecked his shoulder in Germany and is out the rest of the year. Poor guy!
  16. these are the airings: 放送スケジュール[FIGHTING TV サムライ] 2月8日(土) 後10:00 2月9日(日) 前8:00 2月9日(日) 深2:00 2月11日(火) 後3:00 2月15日(土) 後1:00 2月20日(木) 前10:00 2月25日(火) 後1:00
  17. Yuji Okabayashi is going to be out for the rest of 2014 most likely with a rotator cuff injury. That's him and Daisuke both on the sidelines now. Tough times for BJW and Yuji personally as this was shaping up to be a big couple of months for him. Sad that Okabayashi vs. KENTA is now not happening.
  18. The Millennials as a whole are an awesome act. Each member has something to offer. T-Hawk will be a Dream Gate champ no doubt. Eita may be one of the most technically talented guys they've ever produced. U-T is ridiculously good for his experience and has swagger that you just can't teach. And as for Yosuke Santa Maria..... well SHE is just the best. The other two young guys are Ryotsu Shimizu - a rough around the edges powerhouse kid who will punch you in the mouth, and Kotoka - a very small but very charismatic fiery scrapper. The product and roster is very strong right now.
  19. loads of nutty matches announced!! KENTA vs. Okabayashi on 1/25 Marufuji & Marvin vs. Nagata & Liger on 1/25 Marufuji vs. Kawakami on 2/3 Nakajima vs. Kenou on 2/3 Sugiura return vs. Kotoge on 2/3 Haste vs. Morishima as the 2/3 main event (they had a really great match last year) Nakajima & Yone vs. Okabayashi & Kawakami on 2/8 full cards here: keepingthespiritalive.tumblr.com/post/73875428584/noah-news-due-to-sekimotos-injury-noah
  20. Completely agree with this. If you haven't seen this match, you need to.
  21. Their last Korakuen was taped for Samurai
  22. Www.openthedragongate.com It's all there man. September of 2013 is a great starting point.
  23. one for Dean this Monday in Japan LEGEND THE PRO-WRESTLING 2014 “Legend 40th Anniversary Event”, 1/13/2014 @ Korakuen Hall in Tokyo () 6 Man Tag Match: Mitsuya Nagai [DRADITION], Bear Fukuda [sECRET BASE] & Nobuyuki Kurashima [DRADITION] vs. Alexander Otsuka [AODC], Super Tiger [RJPW] & Hayato Mashita [RJPW] () Akitoshi Saito [Free] vs. Daisuke Sekimoto [bJW] () Tomohiro Ishii [NJPW] vs. Yuji Okabayashi [bJW] () Hiro Saito [DRADITION] & AKIRA [WNC] vs. Jushin Thunder Liger [NJPW] & Manabu Nakanishi [NJPW]
  24. God damn that is interesting! didn't know about it
  25. I had no idea who was gonna end this reign. I guess Morishima makes as much sense as anyone. Who beats him now? Does Sugiura get another go? They're so thin for main eventers.
