  1. This is a basic problem with wrestling heel/face logic. Every time someone turns face (apparently with the exception of Dolph Ziggler) they gain some superpowers or super-ability-to-kick-out. Especially the top babyfaces. They've been Supermen for a long time. You become a face, you get some kind fo Hulk-up powerup. Turning face is like taking a PED.Meanwhile the heels are fallible, and so have to work harder and be more cunning. But given this, wouldn't "turning face" be the ultimate heel move? You suddenly get this huge advantage you didn't have before (super-heart?). I think that's why a lot of smarks cheer heels. There's a way in which the Faces, if they are kayfabe-conscious, are pulling off a scam that makes them the ultimate heels...and a heel who doesn't exploit that becomes somehow enobled by not taking the easy way out.I know it's mixing kayfabe logic and non-kayfabe logic...but it's hard not to nowadays when guys like Cena and Punk want their character to be an extension of their backstage image.I was thinking something like this the other day when I was watching Chuck Klosterman talk about his new book, which is about evil in popular culture. Part of it is about why people feel drawn to villains. One thing he pointed out was that actors always say the villain roles are more "interesting" but he thinks what they really mean is that those characters are more real. They are flawed and human.I think this absolutely applies to wrestling. The traditional super hero character (Cena or Hogan being the obvious examples) aren't real human beings. We're not perfectly moral and we don't always do the right thing. We're complicated. Randy Savage was fascinating, a ball of energy and neuroses and excitement. CM Punk is thoughtful and principled and stubborn. They're great characters, in a way that Hogan and Cena are not. Say what now?I think he meant to say CM Punk is a whiny fake MMA douche with a persecution complex whose purpose on life is to shit on everything like a pretentious hipster.
  2. Brock's promo was great because everything he said was true. Punk must be shaking in his fake MMA boots.
  3. I wonder if they have the Tommy Rich/Buzz Sawyer Last Battle of Atlanta match that seems to be lost to the sands of time.
  4. I'd argue that monsters like Kane or Big Show lose superpowers whenever they turn face. Instead of being able to tank a million finishers or set people on fire, they suddenly lose those abilities in favor of being cheered for being massive bullies.
  5. Man, any dude that accepts losing his chick to the likes of Dolph Ziggler deserves to have his girl stolen from him.
  6. Punk also botched the alphabet once on RAW, so his credibility is certainly suspect.
  7. They're setting Dolph up as the next top face of the divas division, if this angle is any indication.
  8. The only acceptable ending involving The Shield last night was if Mark Henry came down to the ring and gave them, Orton, Cena, and Bryan the World's Strongest Slam. Then Vince comes out, screams at Henry for "Ruining everything" only to also get hit with the WSS as he shouts about people not paying their air breathing fees on time.
  9. Plan to order? I'm going to the damn show. Like I care what the hell the "general audience" thinks. But last I checked, they cared about Daniel Bryan and John Cena. They cared about the WWE world title match. The last thing we need is Cena/Bryan to end up in a wacky mismatched tag team partners who win the tag team titles right before their title match scenario that WWE loves so much. Too many damn people involved in this angle already and now they're shoehorning The Shield in there to murk the waters even more? The hell with that. So yes...The Shield can continue to fuck off and job to the Usos or whatever.
  10. Yes, because quite honestly Cena/Bryan is a match I give a fuck about right now and The Shield can fuck right off with their irrelevant titles and go fight a reunited Awesome Truth on the pre-show. Get those jokers I give no fucks about out of my main event at Summerslam build.Even when it's going to turn out Shield attacked Bryan at Mr. McMahon's behest? What part of "get these jokers I give no fucks about out of my Summerslam main event build" isn't clear? And get Vince the fuck outta here too while we're at it.

  12. This may be a worse botch than his moonsault against Cena.
  13. Dolph is currently the #3 contender to the DIVAs title behind Kaitlyn and Layla, as far as I can tell.
  14. Daniel Bryan should go on a facial hair shaving spree as a sign of protest against Vince and shave Cody's mustache and Sandow's beard. That might actually draw a reaction from the crowd for him and Sandow.
  15. Kofi wearing long tights now is the biggest character development he's received in five years.
  16. Dolph is now firmly established as Kaitlyn's sidekick. It's just too bad he's on the same level as Layla instead of Big E.
  17. To Cena, hard times is when they forget to perfectly heat the water in his giant slip n slide pool inside his humongous mansion where he hangs out with his trophy diva of the week.
  18. That ending was stupid. I mean, I get what they were shooting for with Orton...but that ending was stupid.
  19. COUNTERPOINT: Alex Wright would main event every PPV from here to the end of Antonio Cesaro's career if he were to return and do his armpit dance.
  20. John Cena living in a cool mansion with a slip n slide and Daniel Bryan living in a unibomber shack is exactly how I pictured their homes. I hope we get to see Brock Lesnar's cabin in the middle of nowhere someday.
  21. I remember when they used to virgin shame Molly Holly for calling out divas for being sluts and then King kept calling her fat. The character wouldn't work as Sheamus would end up bullying her or something to the cheers of the crowd.
  22. I'll admit, Kurt doesn't look nearly as drugged out and near death as he did a couple years ago.
  23. Wow, what a whiny recapper. It took 4 hours to tape two episodes of a two hour show? The hell you say.
