  1. My guys: Hangman, Kingston, Danielson, Punk, Omega, FTR, Wardlow, MJF, TayJay, John Silver, Acclaimed, Miro, Regal Not my guys: Cole, Jericho, 2.0, Christian, Hardy Brothers, REDragon,
  2. I am not getting Adam Cole right now. I guess he is a version of Shawn Michaels?
  3. Velvet, Martinez, Statlander, anna, Tay (heel turn ?) - I said that a face needed to get a belt since it is heel heavy. Anna Jay has been pretty much disappeared too.
  4. The first hour was so hot I knew the crowd would have to lose steam. The woman's match by default was the break in the crowd. But then Johnny got them revved up again. It's just nice to see hot crowds.
  5. After years of having WWE rush feuds, TK's slow burn on the Wardlow turn, and now Julia Smith is refreshing and at times maddening. Wardlow turn could have happened a few times. But it is more like WWE/WCW of the mid 90s at times.
  6. The Hardy's run is anywhere as good as Sting's in AEW it will be great. Sting in AEW, along with Tony Schiavone on the mic and having fun in wrestling are two of my absolute guilty pleasures.
  7. The Hardy's were hard to watch but they have name value. Can elevate some young teams along the way...
  8. My issues is why is on screen - it's not like he is signed to the company and no one is going to get their hands on him.
  9. Not sure what went long - possibly Jericho's segment but the cage match just felt off. The ending was really not great at all. But Rosa got her win. Curious to see if she keeps the belt for a while. Blances out the women's division between heels/faces champions. Trios match was really good. Liked everything about it. Wardlow/MJF was good. Wardlow destroying Spears to get to MJF will be huge. However, I did not like Austin Vanderford getting involved as this random MMA dudes showing up with no payoff is not good booking. Is Wardlow really going to get his hands on Austin?
  10. Conti and Anna Jay got the most out of the AEW COVID shutdown as far as reps on the woman's side; and it shows today. I hope PVZ gets time with Dustin too
  11. Paige has had a very so-so record in MMA. She is one tough cookie though - she can take a beating
  12. Acclaimed needs to win the titles; I love them and the titles would exactly what they need. I was surprised Sammy lost but realized coming out of Revolution all 3 men's titles were held by "faces". Dark Order turning on Hangman? Some of the Dark Order (Johnny) are over as faces so does it split Dark Order? Loved every bit of the Regal promo. And yeah he short changed Mox big time. Curious to see long term how AEW uses PPV - is it the blow off or the beginning. It seems a bit of both right now
  13. Wardlow is an absolute monster - like a modern day Bautista. And I have said it before, booking him as solid as anyone in the company. The young stars in AEW (Jungle Boy, Darby, MJF) have truly been booked to be the future which given WWE's tried and true of bringing people in, having them lose alot to see how they will react then bringing them back up feels refreshing. Growing up in JCP country, they figured out they had something special in Flair and then Steamboat, and booked them strong. And all that did was help pad the box office.
  14. Love the analogy on Pizzas (or ice cream!). Seriously AEW could do a 2 night PPV at this point using last night's card. FTR vs LAX would have been a great match and neither one is on the card. Still glad to have an alternative to watch that is more than one man's vision.
  15. I know - Tongue in cheek for me. I knew going into the PPV that it had a chance to exhaust the fans. Frankly the latest WWE PPVs have had the opposite problem - I have Peacock and I just will not watch them. Excited for Regal.
  16. Too much content for your money? That's a new one to complain about.
  17. Mox, Jericho and Omega helped make the belt. Hangman beating Omega helped make Hangman. MJF getting the title with a Wardlow turn in the mx sounds very good. I wonder how far out TK is booking some of this? The Wardlow storyline is really taking some time (not in a bad way) .
  18. I look at this card and the Cargill/Conti match is the only one I look at on paper and feels like it should be on Dynamite. They could cut 2 or 3 matches easily from the card and is still a great card. Seeing some folks equating Hangman to a version of Bret Hart for AEW. I like Hangman as champ as he is different and homegrown. He brings it had in every match, and the title means more around him. I expect it comes off soon but not Sunday.
  19. The three way was just nuts - the interaction between Sammy and Darby with Andrade being the receipts was really unique. The Coast to Coast with Sammy jumping over Darby - really cool spot. Darby diving under Sammy - great visual. Andrade taking the other twos entire offense made him losing not look bad. I am not a fan of 3-ways as it feels played out but this one was really great. And it setup Revolution.
  20. I think second is the plan - he appears on social media w/o his mask. I think he has a big upside
  21. That that Tony's dad basically looking to his kids and telling them I have a bunch of money you will get when I die, why not start spend some of it now. And TK gets to go buy one of his favorite things. Who knows where this ends up in the long term. I just enjoy some great wrestling matches on TV with a throwback feeling to JCP.
  22. I was watching the show last night and all of sudden Mark Henry is on my screen; looked at my watch and was like how is already 10:45? Whomever is booking the Hook stuff really nailed it last night. Hook has said exactly zero on the mike and it does not matter.
  23. Grey beard here - Dusty as a performer is clearly one of the top talents to date ever; his schedule in the late 70s rivaled Andre and only Harley was making more spot shows around the NWA. Dusty was headlining the Omni, Houston and The Garden in the same years. He could talk almost anyone into the building. So putting him into a role in NXT to work on promos, to help develop the non-technical side of wrestling was the perfect fit. As a booker, Dusty was very good. But like many bookers he had a finite shelf life. Territories tended to move the booking responsibility around. Talent who booked put themselves towards or at the top because they could trust themselves to show up. WCW should have changed bookers in say late 86 (not sure who frankly; the names of who could have booked at that time is not big) and maybe it does not crater as fast but it was not Dusty; if you don't have a great grasp on expenses in a business on a daily level, you are bound to fail. That's on the Crocketts. The Crocketts over paid for Mid-South, not Dusty. Did Dusty do the false finish too many times - sure. It can be an effective finish occasionally.
  24. Not sure TBS would go for it but it could be really fun; vampy, campy in all the right ways. In a side note, on Youtube TV, the info for Dynamite says featuring Cody and Brandi Rhodes (which I had never noticed until now). I guess being Brand Officer means you get some say on how the product gets described.
  25. Indeed but Jungle Boy/AnnaJay have purposely played their relationship very quiet (I think this Jungle Boy frankly). My sense is Jungle Boy being Luke Perry's son has a different view of fame than many. Off topic I know.....
