I dunno who the commentators are but I wish they were more critical about the 49ers' time management at the end. They not only were playing for a FG even though they had time (and timeouts) but didn't even play for a short FG. And that's not just in hindsight, it felt really passive in real time, like they cared more about killing the clock than scoring.

Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olson, who IMO are the worst of the #1 NFL broadcasting teams (yes, I would take Tirico/Collinsworth and Buck/Aikman over them)

  2. So remember all those weird statements by Jim Irsay this past season?

    Quote

Jim Irsay was found laying in his bed unresponsive, cold to the touch and gasping for air during a suspected overdose in December ... this according to police in Indiana.

Carmel Police Department documents, obtained by TMZ Sports, show cops were dispatched to Irsay's Carmel residence on Dec. 8 at around 4:30 AM ... after someone said they had found the Indianapolis Colts owner unconscious on a bathroom floor with a blue skin tone.

When police first arrived on the scene, they say Irsay had been moved to his bed ... where he was struggling to breathe and had a weak pulse and constricted pupils.

what if that security guy was the mastermind of a cheating scheme and not having him around broke their confidence

Wasn't he supposed to be back on the sideline for tonight's game?

imagine a scenario where the 2024 NFC East head coaches are Bill Belichick, Jim Harbaugh, Pete Carroll, and Brian Daboll

At this point, I don't see the Commanders being interested in Belichick or Carroll, and I sort of doubt Harbaugh comes to DC because of his brother being just an hour away up I95.

  5. From the PFT article about the GB/Dallas game:

    Quote

It leaves owner Jerry Jones with a ton of soul searching this offseason: Does he fire Mike McCarthy, who now is 1-3 the past three postseasons, including two losses at home? If he does, does he entrust the team to defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, whose unit gave up the most points in a playoff game in team history? Does he commit a massive amount of money and salary cap space to Dak Prescott, who has an almost $60 million cap hit next season, threw two picks Sunday and is 2-5 in the postseason in his career?

$60 million cap hit next season?!?!?

Dak Prescott, the QB equivalent to an MLB hitter who veers between being the best hitter in the world and the worst hitter on his team?

    Dak Prescott = Chris Davis?

  7. Another question arising from this blowout: is this ruining Dan Quinn's chances of landing another HC gig?  We're already seeing what's happened to Jim Schwartz after Cleveland got decimated yesterday.

  8. I really will laugh if Dallas axes McCarthy and signs Belichick.  As bad as McCarthy may be in the playoffs, he does have knowledge of a good offense.  Belichick would probably just hire BOB or McDaniels as usual.

  9. It's the NY Post, so take it with a grain of salt, but it is interesting...

ESPN, NFL in advanced talks on agreement that could give league stake in TV giant

    Quote

ESPN and the NFL are in advanced talks that could result in the league taking an equity stake in ESPN, The Post has learned.

As part of a potential agreement, Disney-owned ESPN would take control of NFL Media, which includes NFL Network, and the league would receive equity in ESPN.

I am now hoping for the chaos scenario of Dallas realizing they no longer need to win their game since Philly sucks and pulling their starters and then Washington wins and drops to #3 and the fanbase loses their mind

Actually, more than likely Washington would drop to #4 with Arizona at #3.  Hell, I don't know who would win a tiebreaker between Washington and the Chargers...so it could be #5.  And THAT would really piss Washington fans.
